Hello. Beautiful aqua. Do you have a plant placement plan from that aquarium? It would be great if you could provide. Good luck and ideas for further work.
What separates you from many other popular RUclips aquascapers is that your wonderfully succinct and detailed explanations are perfect!! You don’t keep the camera on you talking, you keep it on the aquariums. You don’t use gimmicks, false charm, humor or lecture-style methods. Your editing is masterful and you don’t waste time. You are a favorite! Thank you for this video. It’s truly the best of its kind. Cheers!

Terrific video as always. I really like the back to basics type videos too. And great narration. This scape turned out really nice. Everyone who is unsure about starting the hobby should jump in and give it a try. It might not turn out quite as nice as this tank right away, but with enough practice it will. Take care.
Thank you for this very helpful video. I'm just trying my hand at aquascaping a small 5 gallon tank, and I will follow these steps almost to the T. I want to use organic potting soil in mesh bags, so hopfully it will turn out well! Thank you again. Love all your videos!
Damn, I wish I see this video earlier before I start my first few tank. Your guide explains a lot of my frustration and I see why. Good guide. I am bookmarking it. Keep up the good work!!!

Fantastic tutorial, will come in handy when I finally get to set up the 25l opti-white tank I have ordered to give a proper planted tank with aqua soil a shot!
Hi MJ thanks for the amazing guide, one question, when sticking plants to driftwood/rocks do you use a cotton disc with the plant or do you use direct glue on the plant roots ?
Why are u quarantining plants? A diluted bleach wash will make them usable instantly but make sure u rinse them in dechlorinator afterwards just to get rid of nasty chlorine etc
Hey MJ! I love your work and i think your channel is just the best one out there in terms of aquascaping. I have a quick question. I don't have otocinclus in my region, so do you think i could use ancistrus instead?
Nice video and instructions. Do you have a layout of what plants in front, middle area, and background? This will help me to replicate your tank easier. Many Thanks
Excellent video! I am planning to do my first aquascaping. I was wondering about the CO2 gas for the plants. Can you not just pump atmospheric area which has a CO2 in it already? Do you really need this CO2 gas ? can you please guild me on this topic. Thank you.
As always nice job! I used same Difusor for Co2 but a was unhappy, lot of microbubbles in tank. Now I have reactor for CO2. What is your experience with this difusor?
Yeah lots of micro bubbles indeed... but with a white background you don't see it that much. If I had a black background on this tank I would probably not use this kind of diffuser
Great tutorial. I only have your voice in the left speaker. I had the same issue before. To fix it in Davinci Resolve simply click right mouse button on the clip go to Clip Attributes... => Audio then duplicate channel 1 to the right speaker it will duplicate you left speaker to the right speaker
Hey there MJ. I can safely say that at this point I consider you my aquascaping mentor. I learned a lot from you and like to apply all I learn from you because you always say things in a very easy to digest way and appliable way. You also use the same brands of tanks, ferts, lights I use, so it's easy for me to relate to your setups. A question I have: What do I do with new plantsthat just won't establish... I get them to melt in the first 4 days/1 week of adding them in an already established setup, specifically althernantera. It's literally the 5th time I try to add this plant in my 70L tank, everytime doing something different (different position, closer to the light, more space, etc) and still no luck. Is it just impossible to add certain plants after the tank gets established? If so, I would love it if you can make a video about it. The only time I managed to grow althernanthera mini is when I first set up the 35L, at the very beginning when nothing was established.
Hey Adrian! Strange that you are struggling with Alternanthera, it's not really a difficult plant. And adding them into an established setup should actually make it easier. Are you sure it's melting and not being eaten? I know Amano shrimp love to eat Alternanthera
@@MJAquascaping Hey there! Pretty sure it's not being eaten because the stems themselves just rot at the base after 3-5 days, along with leaves near the base, after I plant them in my soil. The signs don't look like there's been "munching" going on, but I do have amano shrimp. Althoguh in such a short time, I should have definitely seen them do it if that was the case. I get pretty much the same behaviour with Alth. Rosanervig and with the mini one from In-vitro. They do actually grow new leaves out the top, so maybe it's just a case of let the plant die so it can be reborn in the new setup, but man is it heartbreaking to just see that whole beautiful red plant melt completely and I don't really have the patience for them to just die off like that xD. I am familiar with plants melting when getting established, but not to this extent!

Something seems to be wrong with your soil and I really would like to know what's going on. Do you use substrate heating? Did you add additional fertilizer to your soil?
