Hello. Beautiful aqua. Do you have a plant placement plan from that aquarium? It would be great if you could provide. Good luck and ideas for further work.
What separates you from many other popular RUclips aquascapers is that your wonderfully succinct and detailed explanations are perfect!! You don’t keep the camera on you talking, you keep it on the aquariums. You don’t use gimmicks, false charm, humor or lecture-style methods. Your editing is masterful and you don’t waste time. You are a favorite! Thank you for this video. It’s truly the best of its kind. Cheers!
Thanks a lot Daniel!
Very insightful too ✨
Good job bro greetings from Indonesia I like the way you explain in very detailed and easy to apply how many times to change the water after we finish our aquascape??please answer my question🙏
not sure if this was intentional but the voiceover audio is only coming from the left speaker. Thought I'd let you know if you didn't realise already :)
Definitely not intentional... how did i not notice that...
@@MJAquascaping it’s all good. still great content
I think we need another tutorial, you know for the right ear this time.
Wif the lofi background music and the PA like voiceover it feels like I’m really on a tour😂(watched it on my phone so it actually feels quite special and fun)
Its just louder on the left earbud for me
To hide the cottonpads, you can crush some pieces of aquasoil to dust (or simply use your aquarium sand if it fits) and dust it over the glue-soaked cotton.
You can soak the wood in a bucket beforehand. Makes it heavy. Saves gluing.
Thank you! Your tank is so beautiful!
I've watched all your videos just starting my fourth tank and can't get enough of this hobby
Voice over is ok. It was very clear an precise. I understood every thing you said. And that's the main thing. Great tutorial.
Very helpful , ive been watching aquascaping videos since years and this is the only one which is the best and knowledgable . Thank you for giving us the hope that this is doable
Great video MJ. I liked seeing the progression of the tank over time instead of just focusing on tank setup. Definitely something I'll share.
This is gorgeous!
Lovely setup and the video. Can't imagine the efforts you put in to keep so many people inspired... The tank has grown to be a beauty...
This video was SUPER helpful, thanks!
Fantastic movie and beautiful aquarium. Thanks😀
Simply Beautiful!!!!
Terrific video as always. I really like the back to basics type videos too. And great narration. This scape turned out really nice. Everyone who is unsure about starting the hobby should jump in and give it a try. It might not turn out quite as nice as this tank right away, but with enough practice it will. Take care.
That was a beautiful tank!
Fantastic tutorial, will come in handy when I finally get to set up the 25l opti-white tank I have ordered to give a proper planted tank with aqua soil a shot!
Great video as always! I’d love to see an ultra budget build. Or maybe dry start? Grow plants from seeds would be nice to see as well.
Noted!
Was this video ever made?
Damn, I wish I see this video earlier before I start my first few tank. Your guide explains a lot of my frustration and I see why. Good guide. I am bookmarking it. Keep up the good work!!!
Fantastic video! Good job 👏
Perfect tutorial MJ 👍🏻
Thank you 👍
Thank you for this very helpful video. I'm just trying my hand at aquascaping a small 5 gallon tank, and I will follow these steps almost to the T. I want to use organic potting soil in mesh bags, so hopfully it will turn out well! Thank you again. Love all your videos!
I am setting up another tank at home...a similar size tank....so this is really helpful. The hardscape I want to create is a cave in one back corner with outcrops of the same rock type around it. But I am putting some sanded coloured glass pieces on the interior of the cave to make it look like a crystal cave.
New to Aquascaping, so helpful
Eye opener for me with the explanation of what is happening ✨
FINALLY! 😩
I love every. Single. Videos. Of yours.
So informative. Thank you very much!! Will keep watching 🥹
I like the way you explain in very detailed and easy to apply how many times to change the water after we finish our aquascape love from indonesia my friend🙏
Very nice MJ….. it helps to include how to-s so when an issue pops up, you know to solve it and move forward. We all get issues from time to time 😜
Nice scape tutorial..good job sir
I’m doing my first planted aqua scape soon, I’m stoked 🤙 all the plants are in quarantine rn
Why are u quarantining plants? A diluted bleach wash will make them usable instantly but make sure u rinse them in dechlorinator afterwards just to get rid of nasty chlorine etc
Really great tips for nubies, thank you!
Nice guide! I'm gonna start with it soon... Thanks!
Good luck!
Beautiful I'm getting into the hobby
친절한 설명 감사합니다. 많은 도움이 되었습니다.
Great tutorial. I only have your voice in the left speaker. I had the same issue before. To fix it in Davinci Resolve simply click right mouse button on the clip go to Clip Attributes... => Audio then duplicate channel 1 to the right speaker it will duplicate you left speaker to the right speaker
Yeah I don't know how i missed it this time...
Very satisfying
Beautiful 😍 I'm getting into the hobby
Excellent video! I am planning to do my first aquascaping. I was wondering about the CO2 gas for the plants. Can you not just pump atmospheric area which has a CO2 in it already? Do you really need this CO2 gas ? can you please guild me on this topic. Thank you.
for any newbies, be sure to keep the plants wet, if you're planting it without water in the tank
Great basic guide keep up the good work mark💪
As with most people you have skipped heating. What temperature and where the heater goes.
You are very inspiring. Keep it up !
As always concrete material 🎬👍😀👌
Great video thank you 🙏
Can you half fill the tank and then plant your plants? Why does everyone do it dry?
Maintenance is super important, I feel that people wants to see results way to early into the game, but if you are patient enough, you can reach very decent results.
Exactly!
Nice video and instructions. Do you have a layout of what plants in front, middle area, and background? This will help me to replicate your tank easier. Many Thanks
What a video 😗🤌🏼 and what a scape! 👌🏼
Gutted I didn’t know about Vivarium, I would of made plans to go 😢
Hi MJ thanks for the amazing guide, one question, when sticking plants to driftwood/rocks do you use a cotton disc with the plant or do you use direct glue on the plant roots ?
Hello sir, I want to ask whether room temperature affects plant growth?
Thanks
Nice aquascaping guide
I want to purchase spiderwood from Buce Plant and was wondering which selection you picked? I see different sizes and quantity.
it's very good aqauascaping☺️☺️☺️☺️
Hey there MJ. I can safely say that at this point I consider you my aquascaping mentor. I learned a lot from you and like to apply all I learn from you because you always say things in a very easy to digest way and appliable way. You also use the same brands of tanks, ferts, lights I use, so it's easy for me to relate to your setups. A question I have: What do I do with new plantsthat just won't establish... I get them to melt in the first 4 days/1 week of adding them in an already established setup, specifically althernantera. It's literally the 5th time I try to add this plant in my 70L tank, everytime doing something different (different position, closer to the light, more space, etc) and still no luck. Is it just impossible to add certain plants after the tank gets established? If so, I would love it if you can make a video about it. The only time I managed to grow althernanthera mini is when I first set up the 35L, at the very beginning when nothing was established.
Hey Adrian! Strange that you are struggling with Alternanthera, it's not really a difficult plant. And adding them into an established setup should actually make it easier. Are you sure it's melting and not being eaten? I know Amano shrimp love to eat Alternanthera
@@MJAquascaping Hey there! Pretty sure it's not being eaten because the stems themselves just rot at the base after 3-5 days, along with leaves near the base, after I plant them in my soil. The signs don't look like there's been "munching" going on, but I do have amano shrimp. Althoguh in such a short time, I should have definitely seen them do it if that was the case. I get pretty much the same behaviour with Alth. Rosanervig and with the mini one from In-vitro. They do actually grow new leaves out the top, so maybe it's just a case of let the plant die so it can be reborn in the new setup, but man is it heartbreaking to just see that whole beautiful red plant melt completely and I don't really have the patience for them to just die off like that xD. I am familiar with plants melting when getting established, but not to this extent!
@@adrianradu2332 Hi Adrian, I just read about your melting problem, sorry to hear. Your plants seem to uncouple stem from roots. Something seems to be wrong with your soil and I really would like to know what's going on. Do you use substrate heating? Did you add additional fertilizer to your soil? May be your soil is clogged and doesn't hold enough oxygen for the roots/the substrate bacteria to strive? May be the soil became too acidic vs. the water column? Let me know if you have overcome the problem...
Ah man that was great👍
Great Job! Im surprised some bozo didn't say "its 13 minutes long not 10 you lier!". Love your videos! This was the first video I saw from you.
Yeah me 2 😅
That's great am following lots of your videos and learning a lot, that light Twinstar III 600 is like 250 euro,I get it, it's great but could you make some videos of alternative and a bit less expensive kit for aquascape, all the best mate cheers from UK
What temperature is good to set the tank for plants and fish? 78-83?
Great video❤
what's the purpose of the tissue while filling the tank?
Hey MJ! I love your work and i think your channel is just the best one out there in terms of aquascaping. I have a quick question. I don't have otocinclus in my region, so do you think i could use ancistrus instead?
You can! But they do get a lot bigger
@@MJAquascaping thanks a lot for a quick reply. Love your work, keep it up and best of luck to you!
you can start a tank very simply and save a lot of water
just put soil hardscape and tapwater( for neutral soil only ) if aquasoil just got ro+minerals and filtration and wait 3 weeks
no plants
no light
no water change, its the big deal ;) all amonia ... is already gone after 3 weeks.
after 3 weeks, you are already cycled .
change all water ,
plants
add light and co2 if use it
and wait 2 weeks more time to plants start grow.
can't fail with this method.
Super mooi gedaan man 👍 Heb je geen last van vissen/garnalen die uit de bak springen bij bakken zonder kap?
Hello. white background where can i find i like it. i live in spain
do you use treated water or straight from the tap?
What glue did you use?
hi , do you use any mat before adding soil to prevent the tank from getting scratch under the soil
I just discovered your channel. Love all your videos. When starting a new tank should I wait until the water cycles before planting the plants? Thank You
@WilliamAnneli, you can check MJ’s dark start method video. Cycles and adds plants after
What types of plants you used?
Hi what fertilization do you use? How do you dose? Thank you and good luck
Hey! I use ferts from Masterline and because I use a nutrient rich substrate in the first few weeks I will only dose Potassium and sometimes micro nutrients. After about a month or 2 I will start adding Macro nutrients.
@@MJAquascapingokay thank you
Can you please give me a list so I can buy it thanks?
Is there a Need for bubbler ?
I love it
Wat is voordeel of nadeel van een Inline Diffuser.
Voordeel is dat je nog minder techniek zichtbaar hebt in je bak. Nadeel is dat je wel weer een extra koppeling in je filter slang hebt wat evt zou kunnen lekken
Where did you find the plain white decoration foil for the background?
Everything i am seeing online has patterns.
Since you were doing daily water changes, why didn't you add clean up crew day one? Would spare you cleaning up wood and stones every time and speed-up cycling
Link for the co2 please
I don't think so it is possible to have this much clean tank when you fill with water for first time. There will be some impurities from soil itself. At least for me it was the case.
What is the trick behind can you explain?
As always nice job! I used same Difusor for Co2 but a was unhappy, lot of microbubbles in tank. Now I have reactor for CO2. What is your experience with this difusor?
Yeah lots of micro bubbles indeed... but with a white background you don't see it that much. If I had a black background on this tank I would probably not use this kind of diffuser
when you do a water change what are you replacing it with ? Is it RO water
MJ when are you gonna do long term review of Wrb2 pro? Also how about chihiros new doctor and chihiros led background??
Hi what brand lights are you using could you send me a link as to where can I get a set similar those you are using in this scape
Links are in the video description 😊
What’s the table you used in this video to hold your aquarium?
Love this build 😍
Glad you like it!
Can u make a basic setup with a nano tank for betta fishes
Planning to do a betta tank soon! What is basic in your opinion?
@@MJAquascaping I mean like a simple setup with live plants for beginners
Video was going well but couldn't finish it due to the music and audio recording unfortunately hopefully better one in the future. Best of luck
New video and so soon 🤩
if you think about the fertility of aquascape plants do you need to use additional co2 tubes?
thanks
I've seen a lot of your videos. I notice that you immediately put the ottos in a new aquarium. I was told that this should only be put in after 6 months. Otherwise they will starve because there is not enough food for them. They don't hire permanent. What is your opinion about this?
My new tanks always get hit with brown algae after 3-4 week, so I usually add ottos right before or during this ''algae phase''
If there is no algae for the ottos to feed on, I will either move them to a different tank or feed them with algae waffers.
@@MJAquascaping Thank you for your response, do they really eat those algae waffles? I hear and read a lot that they don't want to eat them. This is because Otto's are wild caught, I like them so much, but I don't dare to take them. Afraid that they won't want to eat those waffles.
Great video! About how many inches is the rerun line under water for surface skimmer. I ended up cutting mine to short and it didn’t work correctly. Going to try again.
2.5 inches! 😊
I thought of an experiment idea. Could you compare foods that are supposed to enhance the colors of fish?
Interesting idea!
Can u suggest some tweezers best ones and budget ones that wont hurt my hand in longer planting session
You didnt get that brownish water from the wood?
Top bedankt 👍
at 12:04 whats that tube thingy on the right side of the aquarium, and what purpose does it serve?
It's a CO2 dropchecker! The fluid inside changes color depending on how much CO2 is available in the water.
@@MJAquascapingoh, i see.. thanks for the reply ⭐
Is c02 needed only for certain plants? What's a perfect temperature? 70?
