I have never had the chance to take any cuttings, as there is only a few prickly pears that are endemic here - and I haven’t found one yet. Anytime I see a rare species with seed I will usually spread it all over the hills they are growing on to help the population. But I do usually take a few back to attempt at home. Thanks for watching!
Went to High School in vegas - one time walking home I found a 3 inch long Tarantula Hawk dead on the side of the fence I was walking next to. I had no idea what it was and had never seen anything like that before - I picked it up because I thought it was a toy,. It felt real, so I took it home and put it in my freezer just to preserve it. Oddly I don't think I googled what it was, I was just sitting in class one day and My calculus teacher started talking about them, and when he described them I figured I probably had one in the freezer. Brought it back the next day, he thought it was awesome. No idea what eventually happened to it, my mom probably threw it away

When you find endemic cactuses do you ever collect seeds or take cuttings?

@@southwesthardypalms I would probably do the exact same thing. Just in case they go extinct it's good to have a few in private collections as backup.
