Polanski is a genius. His filmmaking is audacious, precise, savagely humorous and bitingly sardonic. I revisited this film again and it has aged beautifully.
Agree 100%. This might be my favorite film of his. Chinatown is obviously his masterpiece, but I find myself rewatching this one more often. I just can't get it out of my head.
me too not sure how many times but I plan to buy it as well, not for polanski (he should be in prison for raping and drugging a child) but for Pierce and Ewan and the guy who is after the bad guys to expose them.
A question not asked. Was it hard to play in a movie that pretends the former East Berlin is actually London because authorities would never let Polanski set foot in Great Britain?
everyone is very careful about talking about Mr. P since it can affect their getting jobs in the future plus this is his film. the movie is great but it's due to the actors, especially Ewan and Pierce and the guy who wants to expose things. I didn't like the character of the wife, she is a horrible person but this movie is much more than a "tony blair", it's actually about the CIA's involvement and about CIA shadow handlers........puppeteers behind the stage, pulling the strings. THAT is what is truly good about this movie and eerily real...........you will see..still do not like Polanski at all and wish he was in prison where he belongs. the actors can't say anything it's not politically correct and if they want to work again, they won't.

Very Good
The interviewer is so bad you wonder if it's a put-on. Watch McGregor's eyes early in the segment as he tries to figure out what the hell is going on.
Never made a political thriller ?
What about Death and the Maiden ? Tssk.
Kind of a stretch, there.
where is it playing in OC anyone please???

The interviewer only wants to talk about Polanski's personal life
These guys all like to think they work for 60 minutes when they’re just there to promote a movue
Yeah, like what did he expect to hear regarding those questions?
bigots everywhere

Pierce Brosnan is not a very good actor.
Heresy.
Disappointing. Chinatown is Polanski's last great movie.
What about The Pianist?
