Great to see the video. It was a pleasure to meet you both at NAC, make the first cash donation of the day and wave you off from Norwich! A fantastic amount of money raised for a very deserving cause. Cheers! Kev.
16:26 ooops 😁 That was probably one of the best videos you've done. Lots of action, lots of camera angles and great choice of music. Well done to both of you for achieving this task and raising a great amount of money for the charity.
Great video! Cool to see the DA42 I was the back of, in the background with the canopy open at 22:38! We were the aircraft that followed you out of Gamston
Jon. I really enjoyed this video & awesome job with this great charity. The formation with a fighter pilot flying that cool looking Grey Vans was epic. cheers from New Jersey.
Ill be doing my solo soon! Cant wait! These videos make me so excited for what awaits in my future! Love to see these amazing videos! Congrats on raising so much for such an amazing charity. You're a legend!
Brilliant Jon. A superb aviation effort as well as a fundraising and logistical one. The formation stuff must have been pretty cool. It’s funny how people find Barton stressful, I can understand why but I think learning there took away the anxiety. Plus soft runways isn’t an issue with a heli 😜🚁👍
Thank you Rory. Yeh Barton is interesting. A lot going on there. A late tailwind call on a performance limited wet/soft runway. A busy environment too. But as you say, everyone’s home airfield is always very familiar. Some would find Redhill a challenge I suppose.
Massive congratulations Jon. Loving your work as always and this was such a brilliant achievement. Thank you for bringing your journey to the community.
Well done Jon. I was able to follow you through webcams of some airfileds Big shout out for people in the airfiled who came to greet you. I think they made that day meaningful.
A very interesting video and it is very kind of you to share it with your supporters. Also well done for raising money to help others make their dream of flying come true. It has been a privilege to donate to your cause. Although I wasn't fortunate enough to have the finances to complete my training for a PPL, before living in Devon (I have lived in the Torquay area since 2004), I used to help out at the Tiger Club when they were based near Ashford. It is therefore interesting to read that you are in Kent, John. 👍🙂
Fantastic achievement Jon. The effort that has gone into this is certainly obvious. Isla has your picture on display in her playroom and still speaks of the day she met Jon the pilot!
Well done. As a suggestion from a commercial pilot. If I'm Pilot Flying I would expect my Pilot Monitoring to be dealing with virtually all checklists on a challenge response (he reads I respond); much of the approach briefing and setup; all radio work. CRM (Crew Resource Management) is a science, off load as many tasks as you can, I loathe knee boards (look at how much time you spend distracted trying to scribble on yours) the pilot monitoring should be doing that work. Use your resources, use your auto pilot, switch roles. One of the hardest skills for a Captain to learn is how to let go, when you spend time in a simulator you are deliberately over loaded with tasks, you could be the world's best pilot but there is a point where it becomes too much and your ability drops off a cliff.
I passed you when you were between seething and old buckenham ( or should that be tibenham haha) I was heading back into my home airfield which is hardwick right next door to tibenham. Congrats on the achievement 👏
Was hoping to get to Sleap but failed.WX was a bit manky around Stoke for sure.I did my first solo there in 1976 and also got confused with the runways
Fantastic video, great to watch, as always entertaining and full of interest. What a day! Amazing effort both of you. And for such a good cause. Well done. 👏🏼
@@TheFlyingReporter John honestly your videos are without a shadow of a doubt… the new bench mark. I know your BBC background, but even so, to produce a programme like this takes artistry and skill, and of course personality and the “voice”. Flying reporter is the only channel I watch regularly and actually look forward too. Thank you for all your hard work.
Congratulation Jon! Very proud of all who helped, I would’ve got down to Leeds East but couldn’t make it, if you ever do an aerodrome review of Leeds east (I hope for that one day) hopefully might bump into you!
John such a gentleman you pulled it off even with the weather gods throwing you a curve ball an early excursion in the uk skies and you both did well. Another one next year...?
I once sat on that runway doing my first tail wheel flight, loads of people watching and it just went in a big circle trying to line up… it’s almost like that balcony at the café is just to catch everyone’s cock up Great trip though, brilliant cause and very well done
I chipped in so I figured I could take the pzzz, I feel obliged to land at more than 12 airfields in a day now so I can see what it's like. I'll let you know.....😉😜

Thanks!

I could be Steve for special occasions 😉

Thanks James. Good to meet you in person. And isla of course!

Fantastic job Jon, well done, great cause. Re: Sleap, you’re the first one to have done that 😂
Thanks - but I don't believe you!
Hahaha
Stunning effort Jon. Many thanks.
Look forward to seeing you on runway 18, errr 23, errr 05, errr 12....oh I dunno, somewhere on an airfield. 😂
It was a crosswind whichever one I took haha!
Well done, Jon. Impressive day's flying.
Great to see you at Turweston, well done with the day. Arriving at Barton showed why we should have a mandatory EC policy.
Congratulations John!! Excellent
A fantastic achievement, Jon; well done to you both 👏🏻👏🏻

what an outstanding job you have done John and what an experience something I'm sure you will never ever forget..... best video yet
Thanks Josh. I certainly won’t forget this. A great experience on many levels.
Well done Jon! Inspirational! Great air-to-air shots of IV too
Had some help with those. Thanks.

That looked like hard work! Many congratulations on a great achievement. And a lovely bit of Lindisfarne at the end. 😊
Thanks. Can't beat a bit of Lindisfarne - I interviewed them once in the day, and they played live for me!

Very interesting flight and well done in raising so much for Aerobility charity. Thought you may have mentioned at Turweston being the HQ of the LAA.
Thanks. Curious as to why the LAA deserved a mention though on an event they had nothing to do with. 🤷
@TheFlyingReporter as the LAA has 7.5k members and is responsible for 2700 light aircraft administered from there some of those may be interested
Great video and fundraiser Jon. It was fun to see the scramble to intercept launch of RVBP from the ground side and the resulting air to air shots.
I think Ben did a great job getting into position swiftly after departure. Almost as if he’d planned it.

Shame the wx prevented my getting to Sleap but very well done Jon, Scott and all the team for an outstanding achievement & a great video!!
Thanks :)
Amazing adventure well done.👍😁
Thanks for watching.
Well done to you both. Amazing trip and video.
Thanks :)
Thanks!
Thanks for joining us.
John such a gentleman you pulled it off even with the weather gods throwing you a curve ball an early excursion in the uk skies and you both did well. Another one next year...?
Thanks Barry. Maybe Scotland or Wales next year? Who knows.
Well done guys awesome
Thanks Peter.
Great video! What frequency were you using to chat to the typhoon pilot?
I recall landiing at 8 airport/fields in one hour (1960s)
In was based at sleap and made that mistake .. was common for visitors
It was embarrassing. Especially with everyone watching!
I once sat on that runway doing my first tail wheel flight, loads of people watching and it just went in a big circle trying to line up… it’s almost like that balcony at the café is just to catch everyone’s cock up
Great trip though, brilliant cause and very well done
Were you the voice of 999 frontline on Anglia?
No - that's one I haven't done.
👍👍👍👍👍
You lightweight Jon, didn’t fly it all yourself….😂
I know - it barely counts as a challenge does it?!
He had to put up with my "banter," though - that was even more challenging!
I chipped in so I figured I could take the pzzz, I feel obliged to land at more than 12 airfields in a day now so I can see what it's like. I'll let you know.....😉😜
No airfield charts? (Sleap) great video and a brilliant cause well done
Yeh. We had printed charts for every airfield but sleap is notoriously confusing. They’ve recently put up signage since this video!
@TheFlyingReporter Ahhh fair play to you, also to Sleap for making it better 👏
Beccles is EGSM not EGCM :)
