Since this video received more than the 200 views I was expecting, and as I mentioned, it's not a real tutorial and you may have some questions, I'm going to recommend some channels that are covering both Inochi Creator and Inochi Session more in-depth.
Luna, the creator of Inochi2D www.youtube.com/@LunaTheFoxgirl
    Dragonator96 www.youtube.com/@dragonator96
AR14 Works, the creator of Mannequin (Vroid Studio for Inochi) www.youtube.com/@helloar14
I'll also encourage you to check the official Inochi Discord channel. The developers and other users are always there to help.
For now, I'll put my experiments with Inochi on hold as I've found other methods for my animations. However, I'll be using it for a different avatar, and I'll let you know if I find anything interesting while playing around with it.

Using a 3d model to get head angles is such a genius idea! I wish i had thought of that sooner! Hope we'll see more of you soon!

Thank you! Working on overcoming some technical issues, and if I don't mess up, I'll be able to go back to work in my spare time.

I enjoyed your humour in this video, and I hadn't heard of Inochi2D before so it was interesting to see a program other than live2D!

Thank you! I'm very glad that I can contribute to the development of this program by introducing it to new users.

This is great! I didn't realize there was an open-source version of Live2D! That's awesome! Always great to see developers making really awesome software! Also from the little bit you've showed us, I really love the interface! I definitely would love to give this a try!

This software was developed in response to Live2D's licensing issues. One notable aspect of its interface is its cleanliness and the flexibility to close and rearrange windows for better workspace organization. Unlike Live2D, which uses quads for meshes, Inochi works with triangles, resulting in smoother rigging.
While there are a few bugs and some functions that need refinement, the program is better optimized than Live2D and consumes fewer system resources. This is especially beneficial for me as I often have 3-4 programs open simultaneously.
I hope Inochi gains more traction, as Live2D could use a serious competitor.

@@QasaSynthy would the resulting models be portable to something like VTS?

    • @QasaSynthy
      @QasaSynthy  Год назад +1

@@AstarionSpinnies I'm not very familiar with Inochi Session yet, which is the sister program to Inochi Creator, the one you're using for your avatar. However, from what I've seen, you can use both of them by creating a virtual space in Inochi Session for VTS.
I recommend watching the videos from AR14 Works, the creator of Manequin. Here is an example: ruclips.net/video/_S3tNnB-dv0/видео.html.
I'm sorry that I can't provide more information. I'm new to it, and the programs are still in development.

I've long been a fan (and user) of open source software. There are some excellent alternatives to MS bloatware, created by some truly talented people. In my subtitling work I use Aegisub, which, you may be surprised to read, is even used by some professional subtitlers. GIMP is a pretty decent graphics programme, and Apache Open Office has been my default for so long that I've forgotten how to use MS Office. Anyway, thanks for this brief tutorial, I'll definitely give inochi a try. Good to see you back, by the way. Cheers.

      Thank you!
The reason I'm using Photoshop instead of Gimp is because it was my primary tool at my job for five years, and transitioning to another software is quite challenging, even with plugins to mimic Photoshop's shortcuts and functions. For the rare occasions when I need vector graphics, I use Inkscape.
I'm using Libre Office, but I'll give Apache a try if I ever need to do a fresh OS reinstall.
For subtitles, I use the transcribe option from Descript. I'm aware there are open-source alternatives, but Descript is very accurate, even with foreign names, and using this feature is free.
