Replacing A Failing Culvert

  • Replacing a failing or clogged culvert on this property. The plastic culvert in the driveway is full of mud and dirt along with the ends being smashed. So I dig it up and replace it with a new double walled 18" plastic culvert. I had a little trouble at first with the neighbor, he really didn't want me digging on his property but after him seeing and me explaining I was able to clean his ditch out and get it to drain. The ditch had been silted in over the years so it really needed dug out. Then I dumped a load of base rock on the entrance and around the pipe, got it tracked in and leveled off. Should do much better the next time it rains. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #culvertinstall

Brandon... when I was 6 or 7... my sister went to the doctors office. She came home with a bendy straw. Every time she took a drink, she would use it. The only straws I had seen were made from paper. Now, when I see one of those corrugated plastic pipes it brings back memories of just how jealous I was of her fancy-smancy drinking straw!
Good thing the neighbor didn’t stop you from daylighting that pipe... otherwise, you’d have just built a perfect silt trap!
BTW... 2.75” of rain so far🙂
