@@sixty9media I’m mostly finding the masks in various antique shops so unfortunately, there is rarely information related to the masks and other objects . But I always ask questions . I’ve been working directly with and filming shaman in nepal full time for over 10 years and I sometimes show them the masks and other ritual objects and use them ritually ,with the shaman . I occasionally buy masks and ritual objects from shamanic families where the last shaman have died and the family members are not taking up shamanism’s . Then I’m able to get information about their use ,. I try my best to persuade the families to continue their traditions , and to keep the objects . But sometimes the sacred objects are deteriorating and not being looked after , and worse sometimes being destroyed, because family members have converted to Christianity or Islam .Thats sad because these family members then disrespect their ancestral spirits as well as the sacred objects . Im working directly as a Shaman , as well as studying and filming shamanism . And through my work many of the objects find their way back in to the hands of practicing shaman from many traditions
@@lonmangar3209 I don’t yet have good photographs of many of the masks because i need to have stands made individually to take the images I need . But I’m currently writing a book on Shamanic ritual objects from the Himalayas. And have long term plans to put all the photographs and film footage on a large public web site . Aimed at preserving shamanic traditions from around the world . Can you please share your interest in the masks ?
@@phurahnmongol4013 I’m filming shamanism and working directly with a wide range of shaman in nepal full time for the last 10 years . Many of the masks and other objects I found and bought from various antique shops in Kathmandu . Some shamanic ritual objects have been gifted to me by shamanic friends and teachers in nepal who respect my work and my integrity as a shaman . Sometimes I buy objects from the families of deceased shaman where no family member wishes to continue as shaman , or where the objects have fallen out of use and are not being cared for .Also sometimes shaman as well as collectors loan me objects to work with and to study as part of my documentary series and toward the book I’m writing on Shamanic ritual objects from the Himalayas
