- As first session of the 18th Lok Sabha started, widespread protests in Manipur were reported. Both Kuki and Meitei outfits sought parliamentary intervention to put a full stop on year-long ethnic violence. As per reports, Meitei women marched towards CM Biren Singh’s residence in capital Imphal. They voiced their concerns over possibility security crackdown in strife-hit state. On the other hand, umbrella Kuki outfit ITLF also protested for a “quick political solution” to the strife.

The Members of Parliament must find a scientific solution to end ethnic issue in Manipur.
The BJP at the centre as well as at the state should not look at Hinduism for all issues. Peace must be restored. both groups should announce ceasefire. Central must hold talks with INDIA Bloc.
