Leveling is genuinely an experience, that newbie is genuinely enjoying the experience. Most people are in such a rush to level, they lose the perspective of the joy and wonder of something that is polished and nice and shiny and new, that we don't actually stop and appreciate the amount of work that went into it all. From story to design to animations, and we just brush it off like it's nothing. That's why I really enjoyed leveling when I played MMOs back in the day.
So true. Like we have so many references from movies that it's about the journey, not the destination. Yet still nobody cares about anything but raid gear..
they copied their characters for nothing and that's also caused by the monetization. you kno what i mean? if copy would just be free they wouldn't had to have paid for it AND servers wouldn't be that dead.

Unfortunately blizzard destroyed any hope I had left in the company and I am done giving them my money. Or leveling 1-58 on an active TBC server right after the dark portal opened, can confirm that all of Azeroth is empty as everyone's in Outland. Even Orgrimmar is empty.
@@iwonderifdrugzarebad it will. tbc is the first expansion that made going back to the other world inherently pointless. there's literally zero reason to.
Answering question in the thumbnail. TBC stands for Thermal Barrier Coating. Typical example is so called YSZ coating (Yttria-stabilized zirconia). Basically it is a coating with low thermal conductivity (a little bit simplified but anyway). The thing is we don't really have good construction materials that work in very high temperatures, therefore such coating make it possible to use materials that have melting point below working temperature. Happy to help =)
The experience of playing on a server with just your friends, you and four other people, being the only heroes that can defend and save Azeroth, is 100% a reality. I'm not sure if that's not the most RP thing WoW has accidentally given to players or the saddest existence of what should've been a better experience. They should've done refresh near the start. Hell, they should've sat down and said "What if we develop content, but just for classic WoW?" and expand it beyond where the original game lead. The vanilla experience has such a unique feel of what a classy game was, encouraging playing with people, in organic at best and encouraged at worst, ways. I want to go back, but I know I won't be happy with that decision.
Bro we need players like you with a big following to just do things like follow new players n help them quest make things fun again populate servers, have a group of players dedicated to making wow better, like minded people who refuse to pay for boosts and do thinga the way they used to be. Would b amazing.
As someone who’s 26 years old and never played wow, I would probably want to experience the game as it initially released, maybe boost any alts, but I’d want at least one legit playthrough where I lvl normally through the game and experience it as it was intended all those years ago. (This is coming from someone who still plays Age of Conan)
I did this same experiment when Guild wars 2 launched, and found a lot of players preferring the first game to the new one. They just don't make em like they used to.
I started Classic when it first released, I never played WoW back in the day but a lot of my friends did. It was extremely populated and it was so fun. But it looks like the populations are all low now, how come people stopped playing classic?
problem is that there needs a community to be forged again. as the big player is gone many others will try to get into it's place when the demand for vanilla p-servers starts rising. so players are split onto different small p-servers AND the Blizz-Vanilla servers and it's hard to get back to a stage where nostralius was. with that i think it will take a long time for a comeback of something REALLY nostralius like :/
@@Buttersaemmel honestly they should of just released all the old expansions ages ago because servers die and people leave the game completely. everyone could play each and every expansion on the same account or just the one they love.
Of course classic is dead. That's why blizzard is charging for clones. They know most will jump to TBC. It's 3 or 4 years from now when they run out of classic wow content to re-release that the pop counts will rise on classic servers. But who wouldn't go to TBC? It's a great progression of the vanilla formula. It's the game at its peak.
@@Seneric Cata was great, last raid not so much. I think people were just burnt out. MoP was also a great expansion, pandas were just not well received even though they've been part of lore for a long time.

@@s0lid_sno0ks but now blizz got you by the balls. if the situation get's worse to a point where you can't enjoy the game anymore (because of lack of players) you can only either restart on tbc servers or pay them money or just stop playing.

They might as well merge every single realm onto one, why did they even bother with Classic Era if it would be this dead? Do they think I paid 15 bucks to clone my mage to have 3 people on my realm? This was particularly irritating to me, as I like to PvP in Battlegrounds, and I wanted specifically to explore the battleground progression in Classic, as originally, I started WoW during TBC. I only started seriously playing classic a few months ago and most of my characters are in the teens or very low twenties, but now I'm never going to get to do battlegrounds or dungeons. Pagle FYi, which appears to be the first one you explored. Very irritated about TBC.
They need to make classic servers a one time buy and no monthly subscription. There’s no reason for a monthly subscription on a past version of the game
"Quietly folks, to your right is an honest to Elune newb player." *shocking gasps echo* ..Hey lets be clear.. TBC is still classic..the big change happens with cataclysm and that's when the game lost me.. Maybe it's just my opinion, but all the starting story lines are there..and the original lore is still there.
I actually started playing TBC Classic recently. New to WoW in general. Originally, I picked up the game when TBC initially released (like a week or two into launch) but couldn't get into it for some reason. Thought this would be a good opportunity to give not only WoW a shot but to pick up where I stopped all those years ago.
This is why I didn't agree when people said WoW: Classic will be the nest Old School Runescape. Each expansion in WoW kills the old game, makes it dead useless content. OSRS doesn't have an end game focus on current expansion content like WoW does. As soon as they announced TBC Classic this was always going to happen.
Seeing "Grobbulus is even worse" makes me sad. That's my server man made a lot of good friends. To see Blizz fuck TBC makes me even sadder. I'm just glad to finally be able to get into FFXIV. RIP GROBBULUS and CLASSIC.
I've learned not to get too attached to wow, blizz will eventually screw up somehow. feels like every expansion has a deadline now, scheduled to be dead, shredded, so they can just resell old games. theres zero creativity by its new younger "leaders". As you can tell, i'm pretty annoyed with blizzards work in last decade lol
People will go to Hellfire Peninsula on day one and go "yeah.. Maybe I'll go back to classic to this dies down." idk how people are expecting to level in the first week lol
Laugh at it now but some people might actually have a much more enjoyable time playing classic when it's dead. It will feel like your the only brave champion in the whole world. If they make one huge fresh classic server I would probably join it and and level toons for the fun of it.
Yea except you can't enjoy a lot of the content. You can't do dungeons, raids, or even group quests or make money from your professions/AH. It's an incomplete experience
I mean who wants to do the same shit thats been out for 6 months, anyone who wanted to kill KT killed KT, pvp is pretty much better in TBC that leaves leveling and dungeons and it honestly makes more sense to level on a tbc server and I think almost anyone would prefer being able to progress into TBC dungeons. I never understood why people wanted to clone their characters as there just isn't much left to do in classic especially when most of player base leave. In a few months I'd imagine fresh classic servers(assuming they happen) would hold a decent number of players.

@@gazza7693 Only true for your first hand-leveled char as Asmon says. I definitely agree with him here. Levels 1-max level are basically a glorified tutorial for pretty much every single damn MMO.
A large amount of people don't want to play mmo's like they used to anymore. Too much of a hassle. They want to play a battlefield or something that they can play 1-2 games in and then log out without worrying about the progression. And I kinda get it.
I do think it's sad tho that gaming is only about fast moving action and never about experiencing a game world and its community anymore, as well as long-term oriented gaming, at least for the most part in mmo's.
But that's why a level boost is important for the game, and it will help people to have a chance to keep up.
Still, they should absolutely not have that on their first character.
@@glanni destiny was the first game that had “mmo” elements that i played and i played the shit out of the raids with my friends and had a blast every second even wiping... which led me to bordorlands 2 and 3 with the big grind (for me) for insane amounts of guns and than recently my friend got me into wow classic... which i got to say i like the grind i like the gameplay but the grind and the gameplay was just to time consuming for me.. i want to get back into it cause i stopped at level 31 and havent gone further so i dident really even fully experience wow classic fully before tbc
As gandalf would say to classic wow;
Death is a path we all must take.

True.
I'm guessing within a month the classic servers will be merged. Makes no sense to keep them all up if there's just a few toons on each.
I made up a bunch of blood elves and haven't converted my classic alliance toons yet.
@Daniel Stark no no, he meant that the Vanilla servers might be merged. No TBC
Im one of those noobs who just goes at my own pace :)
I dont even have a lvl capped character. I have a lvl 32 Shaman and a lvl 12 Warlock. I enjoy the questing and want to do all dungeons.
I got kids and a job etc

@@HbVki Im on TBC Classic... But yep idc how slow I go.
Now its a 66 Mage and 63 Shaman. (Didnt like Warlock)

Your are like me. I raided but I really enjoyed leveling and dungeons. I really missed hard heroic 5 mans after Cata. And I preferred 10 man raids.
Warlock was Aesome in raids. Overpowered. Curse of Doom dealing 100k damage to some bosses lol.
Classic era is wow retirement. I enjoy it a lot personally. No more pressure, no rush to gear for the next patch or whatever. I can enjoy my well geared characters, and finally I can pick black lotus!
Oh no , Vaulty will come and claim that you stole his Idea again lol
Damn, I too started playing wow 6 months ago and just enjoy the leveling process, yet i thought there were a lot of us.
Didn’t know we are considered an endangered species.
Oh, the lcassic servers have nostly recovered by now
What? Really?
Man started watching more of this guy after the FF14 business and I'm honestly shocked WoW actually got this bad lmao
I started back in Cataclysm, played Mists, bought Draenor on launch and eventually quit a few months after Legion. I had quite a lot of fun with WoW for what it was, hope it has some sort of comeback but man hearing Blizzard actually added boosts to classic doesn't give me any hope.
It's gonna be interesting to see how players distribute once they have all three classic expansions out simultaneously for years. Until then it's pretty clear to me that most people will play the newest expansion in overwhelming numbers.
So your saying any expansion after WotLK is ineligible to the term classic?
@@Renwoxing13 I assume that they will not release Cataclysm classic, yeah. It will be interesting to see what happens after the last phase of WotLK classic, but I don't think it will be Cataclysm.
@@Dominian1 I hope it will be, I would play, I would even play MoP classic and MoP is widely regarded as one of the best expansions when it comes to class design, I'm sure people would play pretty much all expansions, bar Warlords, and maybe BFA.
@@gordonlove5121 yeah, i first played wow in last patch of cataclysm, but didnt actually get to max or started raiding before siege of orgrimmar, so i only experienced some of the later raids theough raid finder, but it was really fun.
Plot twist: his password really was Asmonisbald
Everybody gangster until the last guys password really is "Asmonisbald"
It's almost like they paid to copy their characters for nothing.
they copied their characters for nothing and that's also caused by the monetization.
you kno what i mean?
if copy would just be free they wouldn't had to have paid for it AND servers wouldn't be that dead.
Everyone is TBC leveling remember the 2 week prepatch?
@@Buttersaemmel Technically it is good that there was a charge.... because people obviously don't want to keep playing vanilla classic. If it had been free, you'd have thousands of characters being housed on a physical server somewhere that nobody wants to play....
Hopefully they consolidate and get rid of classic servers down to the minimum.
I know a ton of guilds that copied over to classic era but non of them are playing classic right now because they are on tbc servers.

Really glad I came across this video of yours! I was so confused when I tried THE Wow Classic and it felt so empty. I figured maybe once I headed to a city or levelled more I'd find friends to play with. Didn't know about who lists either haha. Very informative
Man, I picked this game up in Lich King and loved it, so sad to see how far it’s fallen
To be fair, Incendius' Horde was already dead before TBC
Is Vaulty gonna make a video about him again?
They should’ve done classic plus and changed the timeline. Lol
Why is anyone surprised by this? The game ran it's course and nostalgia lasts until you realise why you left in the first place.
We didnt leave we just got forced due to blizz changing things without caring about the community. There is nostalgia but the game is genuinely better blizz should have went with classic plus instead of TBC.
kinda true but not really for alot of players. theres nothing else new coming to classic. all the people that were playing classic basically have the best gear now because how easy the raids were. everyone knows the mechanics, its the same shit every week ppl just get bored since classics been out for almost 2 years now
@@ImQuirkless thats how WoW worked back then too. I was in a guild that got server firsts and once we cleared the raids and got geared up there was only pvp left to keep the game interesting.

Classic servers are the answer, sadly

RIP Vanilla Classic.
Just gonna start digging this grave for TBC Classic when WOTLK Classic releases.
"people are gonna all play tbc and then finish and get bored", you mean exactly like what happened with classic? great observation
People were still playing the shit out of classic until BC launched.
@@蓮90 Yeah idk what Gamesux is on about. I raided progression in classic when BWL and AQ40 were current last year. I logged easily a thousand hours of playtime during quarantine. Maybe it was a bit short of a thousand but if you told me it was over a thousand I wouldn't be at all surprised. My relatively low-pop server was dense as fuck from launch to October 2020 when I quit after a falling out with my guild. We had to organize Black Lotus farming squads to lock down zones, back before they kicked up the spawn rates.
@@蓮90 People were playing the shit out of Classic BECAUSE tbc was launching

You down with TBC ?
14:25 - This was the funniest Bald Asmon joke in a long time.
2 years later no one cares about tbc and everyone is playing classic lol
I never understand why people say. I play classic to enjoy the leveling experience, yet tbc is basically the same, except theres an extra realm added to the leveling experience
Its how some.people prefer their class to play (warriors/mages) as well as not liking the asthetic of tbc.
In time, probably in the near future, all retail servers will look like this as well.
i have a feeling they might do this whole classic thing once a decade
I did appreciate the guild I joined in Classic/TBC they were so helpful and guided me nicely ! I feel bad for those saying you’re a noob....
My first impression with TBC was like "transfer and boost service?" And i play for a week, with people spamming boosting service on chat. Only meet 2 people while questing.
"well that's some shit" is what Asmon often says, should've been a troll giveaway
Just release TBC, then WOTLK, then reset and start again from vanilla. Stay in this loop. Still miles better than retail wow
@@levithirsk5447 uh not really, biggest changes were made in Cata and some of it's formula is in modern wow
How can anyone even play Classic now that there is basically nobody playing it ?
Cant raid, cant do dungeons or do certain quests now.
Is blizzard fault with all this copy/clone crap. They should have made a few new servers for classic and just moved everyone who wanted classic there.
You don't solo group missions? Can you even call yourself a player?
@@omarct Nobody still wants classic....this proves it.
@@laertesindeed I did. I would have kept playing both classic and TBC if blizzard had not fucked up so massively once again. I would had loved to get my hunter full tier3, and get the t3 ring for my rogue which never dropped and is basically the only piece missing for full classic BIS.

Rest in Peace Classic.
Waiting for fresh start servers/big server merges before I come back to classic
I actually love/loved levelling too. I had 3 60s by the time TBC launched, and 7 70s by the time Wrath launched lol. Now I'm finding it hard to have the will to sit and play for so many hours a day, I lack the attention span for more than a few hours haha. I'd still never buy a boost though, fuck that.
Blizz had a perfect chance to draw in more players by creating a fresh start server.
It’s depressing seeing people lvling on a dead server. I actually get sad.
Right, good luck dungeoning.
Or leveling 1-58 on an active TBC server right after the dark portal opened, can confirm that all of Azeroth is empty as everyone's in Outland. Even Orgrimmar is empty.
@@mattias1486 that won’t last forever though.

"No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun"
The experience of playing on a server with just your friends, you and four other people, being the only heroes that can defend and save Azeroth, is 100% a reality.
I'm not sure if that's not the most RP thing WoW has accidentally given to players or the saddest existence of what should've been a better experience. They should've done refresh near the start. Hell, they should've sat down and said "What if we develop content, but just for classic WoW?" and expand it beyond where the original game lead. The vanilla experience has such a unique feel of what a classy game was, encouraging playing with people, in organic at best and encouraged at worst, ways.
I want to go back, but I know I won't be happy with that decision.
amen brother
Bro we need players like you with a big following to just do things like follow new players n help them quest make things fun again populate servers, have a group of players dedicated to making wow better, like minded people who refuse to pay for boosts and do thinga the way they used to be. Would b amazing.
As someone who’s 26 years old and never played wow, I would probably want to experience the game as it initially released, maybe boost any alts, but I’d want at least one legit playthrough where I lvl normally through the game and experience it as it was intended all those years ago. (This is coming from someone who still plays Age of Conan)
That little trolling at the end was actually adorable but good on you Asmon for getting ready to be helpful :)
representing! (H) Raiding Guild on Netherwind, WE STILL RAIDING Classic Content! Good people coming together to continue the fun journey! Hit us up!
This make me want to play WoW less and less :(
Everyone's on TBC because it's new. Once the ol' classic andy comes out in all of them and the drama begins, that'll probably change.
"I told you these people were real!" The one person in stormwind HAHAHHAHAHAHHA
Nostralius will rise again!
Seriously though, I wonder how long it takes the people who will only play Classic to stop paying a monthly fee.
problem is that there needs a community to be forged again.
as the big player is gone many others will try to get into it's place when the demand for vanilla p-servers starts rising.
so players are split onto different small p-servers AND the Blizz-Vanilla servers and it's hard to get back to a stage where nostralius was.
with that i think it will take a long time for a comeback of something REALLY nostralius like :/
@@Buttersaemmel honestly they should of just released all the old expansions ages ago because servers die and people leave the game completely. everyone could play each and every expansion on the same account or just the one they love.
Wrath of the Lich King was the peak.

I did. I had no idea it would be THIS dead. Maybe I'll ask for a refund. It was only 15 bucks, and maybe after prepatch SOME community will come back, but honestly..It's awful.

Asmon saying "true, TBC leveling is already over" after he swiped the credit card to skip leveling has a certain irony to it.
wow dude you're so perceptive
welcome to the point
"Quietly folks, to your right is an honest to Elune newb player." *shocking gasps echo* ..Hey lets be clear.. TBC is still classic..the big change happens with cataclysm and that's when the game lost me.. Maybe it's just my opinion, but all the starting story lines are there..and the original lore is still there.
I konw a way how Classic could be full of ppl, the answer is "Free To Play".
thats not gonna happen ever
How could they afford to provide a 15 year old game for free? Come on man...
Not even for free would i waste my time for that
I actually started playing TBC Classic recently.
They better add wrath of the lich King servers and stop at that forever
Wait are you saying classic actually isn’t the best most popular game ever made?
@derp derpin I think there is point somewhere in that rant but I can’t see it.
@atnas sualc yes
Seeing "Grobbulus is even worse" makes me sad. That's my server man made a lot of good friends. To see Blizz fuck TBC makes me even sadder. I'm just glad to finally be able to get into FFXIV. RIP GROBBULUS and CLASSIC.
I feel like boosts should be like it was for death knights where you had to get a character to lvl 55 to get a death knight that starts at lvl 55
After TBC has been out for awhile, classic wow will be populated again.
"I can buy spells now." Dude that feel tho.
3:16 introduction to bang bros or what
wait, they transferred the characters to TBC, and not just copy them? No wonder servers died.
Yuuup, if you want to clone a character you have to pay per character lul
of course, i would've done the same
