Yeah you can hard wire both. If you only have one cable then you would plug your xbox into your laptop with the Ethernet cord and just use Wi-Fi on the laptop. But if you have two Ethernet cords it would be better to plug both the xbox and the laptop into the router.
@@retroonlinemultiplayer9196 Thanks for the quick reply. The problem is I do have the ethernet cord to plug the xbox to the router, since my macbook doesn't have a ethernet port. I have to wirelessly use the my laptop to connect through xlink kai and the xbox. Ive been trying to find videos on this but nothing yet. Would it still work because of the ip address?
@@angelsmith196 Nah, on the xlink program my xbox does appear. But when I try to get on thorough system link games, I can't because the games are not found.
Keep in mind that some games have dlc and title updates and some of the people have them installed so if you dont have any of that stuff and they do or if you are using a different region version of the game you wont see their games being hosted.
Do you have to do configure anything after the Xbox is plugged into the computer (Using a Laptop) when using a wireless connection , or should it be good to go after bridging the connection? Also do you play Conker or Wolfenstein? i'd like to get a game going if i manage to get it to work.
i once had the pc + xbox runnin 2 the router wit their own ethernet cables .. use to work great + give way better connection then the wifi method im jus not sure y it stopped workin
Nice video, I feel the same way about playing other games. Halo is cool but there is so much more to play. Only game I haven't gotten to work is Forza. I couldn't see hosted games and they couldn't see my game I hosted.

How do you join Splinter cell Choas theory? It says my Xbox one is found and I’m trying to play with my friend but we can’t find a session and there are no servers on xlink. Any help?
@@ParasyteRagheb i think you can only play this game on x link on the original and maybe the 360. Usually when you join the game arena on xlink it will tell you if the game you are playing can be played on the 360 through x link. And if thats not the answer then maybe your friend has a dlc for the game and you dont or vice versa.
So it says Xbox console and my number code thing ...followed by IP address Ok! is that the right thing to see?? I also have my pc and my original Xbox connected to the router and I don’t see it working..maybe I have the address or something wrong
I would set your IP address for the Computer you are using for XLinkKai to static. That involves going to network adapter settings, and changing your IP to a specific IP address
I would use CMD Prompt to check current IP address, and then use the current IP and add another 10 digits to the last part of your IP address to use as your static IP

Really just depends on who you play with. I usually have all the dlc

Yeah people do and if you hop in a lobby depending on the time of the day you might get someone to just randomly jump in

Sometimes you dont even gotta bridge the connection. Just test it out and see. Hmu if you cant get it to work.

I think so. I do not use it for xbox 1. But im sure there are a few games you can do system link on there

Yeah its probably because your public firewall was on. Sometimes that causes online games to not work. Maybe another reason though

No. You can always buy a small ethernet cable and plug into the computer from the xbox and use wifi.
But you are out of luck if you wanna play hardlined. Unless you wanna run another cord through your wall

Chaos theory is on original xbox not xbox one.
Retro Online Multiplayer it’s backwards compatiable on the Xbox one
