    • @wvp07

      He said it was for further waterproofing. I would at least use it for an exterior or wet wall.
      PS I’m replacing the baseboards though so, for us, maybe just a bit of foam on those walls, no caulking.

    Hi! thanks for this video. I would like to ask if you video guides on how laminate big walls, where you are going to need multiple sheets of laminate, and you have to install them together and make them appear like it's perfectly & seamlessly joint together. It would also be very helpful if you can provide common problems encountered like the condition of the area where laminates are to be applied, and then how we can correct those problems or imperfections?

      You would cut your first row to have a smaller width, which will increase the width of the last row

    Why wouldn’t you remove trim first and install to drywall dimensions? You don’t need to silicon or seal anything. Remove trim, add floor, reinstall trim.

    • @stevetb7777
      @stevetb7777 Месяц назад +1

      I think you would still add caulking for the waterproof seal. There's going to be gaps under the trim, it is hard to avoid that as floors aren't perfectly level.

    Why not remove the baseboard ?

    • @mconaway86
      @mconaway86 8 месяцев назад +1

      You WILL damage the walls or baseboards pulling it off, it will also leave gross caulking behind you will need to scrape off if you re use the base boards. if you plan to re paint the room that is an option, you will need to re attach the base boards, fill the holes, caulk it on, and repaint all the trim.
      Or you can just install shoe molding and move on with you life.

  • @williamhartsell6390
    @williamhartsell6390 2 года назад +2

    Why wouldn't you flush out your flooring with the wall not the baseboards

    • @josephpostma1787
      @josephpostma1787 Год назад

      Because the baseboards were already installed. Ideally the baseboards would be installed on top of the flooring.

    Never wipe 100 percent silicon caulk with anything! You will have a mess like you've never seen. Cut the tube tip small and on an angle. Practice your CONTINOUS caulk bead technique on two pieces of scrape wood with a 90 degree joint. Increase the tip opening until you get the bead size that looks best. Always make one continuous bead, never stop until you absolutely have to. Buy some cheap latex caulk and practice, practice I can't stress this enough! Again, never ever wipe 100 percent silicon caulk! It is not water based. Even Beter yet, install PVC quarter round or shoe molding. I have never seen anyone caulk a floating floor with his method, really odd.
