  • Earlier this year on 10-11 June, a team of 7 Oritain colleagues embarked on the gruelling physical endurance challenge that is Duchenne UK’s annual signature cycling event, the ‘Duchenne Dash’, cycling from London to Paris in just 24 hours. In the build up to the Dash the team had been busy raising funds from friends, family and Corporate sponsors, and last week, on 21st of July we hosted our inaugural fundraising evening at our London office. In this event we hosted friends, family clients and suppliers for drinks and a BBQ reception, including a raffle and auction, talk from Duchenne and the premier of the Oritain Dash Video.
Collectively, this enabled us to boost our total fundraising efforts to a fantastic £13,927!!
Duchenne UK is a parent run charity dedicated to finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This is a devastating genetic disease that strikes primarily boys in the early childhood, and currently has no cure. However, thanks to the ground-breaking efforts of Duchenne UK, massive progress has been made, and gene therapy (which was described as a pipe dream when Duchenne first started) has become a reality and the first patients in the UK were dosed in March this year.
Oritain would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended the event, our corporate sponsors for the Dash: Long Ridge Equity Partners #Chorus #Berwick Partners (an Odgers Berndtson company) #Oritain and #Zircon) as well as our partners and clients who supported the raffle and the auction (#RouxBrothers and #LochDuart), as well as to all the families, friends and colleagues who have supported us throughout. Thanks to your efforts we are getting ever closer to the cure, whilst also helping provide crucial support for the families currently living with the disease.
If you haven’t already and you would like to support, big or small, you can also donate here: www.justgiving....
Thank you Duchenne UK for everything that you do!
