My FAVE song by Crowded House! I've been a fan since I was 13 years old. I am now 50.
After many years following the band I have to say this is their finest song with Distant Sun a close second

Distant Sun is my favourite but this is a great one which kinda got lost in amongst the other heavyweight songs from that album

I was a backpacker sat in an old 1973 ford falcon in a campsite in Adelaide 1989 when I first heard CH on the radio playing Into Temptation. It blew my mind. They’ve been on my playlist ever since.

Went to See my Favorite Americana Band - Los Lobos in Cleveland 1987. Crowded House was a late addition to the show, as Bruce Hornsby show was cancelled. I had only heard "Don't Dream It's Over". This was the third song they played and I still have chills when I hear what Neil wrote about his Aunts suicide with Eddie Raynor's keyboard interlude. CH played the entire first album and the crowd was wanting more. Los Lobos was standing at the monitor board and told the band to keep playing, so CH became Split Enz for 4 songs. I became a fan for life. BTW Los Lobos brought it for all to hear playing on fire from the first note. just to remind you why you came. My two favorite bands to this day.

@@DmytroShkurkoYeah Mark got fired by Neil, I think the reason why Neil won’t mention Mark anymore is because it’s still a sensitive topic for Neil. To be honest Mark didn’t deserve to get fired. He has been so loyal to Neil and Nick!!

Crowded house should have stayed as this line up of musicians! Having seen both line ups ( currently with the 2 Finn sons) although still good , there is no match to the line up as seen here . Just my opinion and I guess some will disagree .
What a great performance! Neil clearly thinks the band is better without Matt and Mark........ not on this evidence.
Not on any evidence I've seen since either. This lineup was brilliant.
Agree I’m still so heartbroken over them getting axed. I’m a lifelong fan & struggle to listen to them now
