    Hey I also saw your other video with the collaboration you did :) Great video. I’m needing a Kayak and just looking to see what’s better than the K2 I had because that Kayak wasn’t very good at all..

    Any drying tips? How do you get the water that has collected out of the center? I’ve been searching videos for a better way than throwing towel after towel down the nose in hopes to absorb it all

      I dry my advanced elements in the sun. While it is still inflated will empty out as much water as possible using a bilge sponge. Then I use a towel to get dry surfaces as best as possible. Finally, I deflate the boat, set it out in the sun and use various objects to prop it open allowing the sun and air to finish it off. But keep an eye on the weather. A rain shower came through one day and undid all my work LOL.

      @@RockClimbinGrandma if you had it to do all over again, would you choose a different kayak; one that is easier to inflate and deflate/dry out? My husband bought me an AE 1020 for Christmas. We are recreational users. I watched your set up video and this one. Neither talked about deflating and drying it out. Can you offer your opinion? Have you tried the Sea Eagle?

      @@mariannedoherty8875 I would definitely choose the same AE1007kayak again. Reason being I enjoy multi day trips on the river. Also, I wanted a tandem for friends and family. I chose an inflatable because don't have a place to store a hardshell kayak. So the work of deflating and drying before storing is worth it for me. However, if I was to buy a second lighter and faster to to inflate Kayak, I would choose the AE1020. I trust the AE brand for durability and safety. I've not tried the Sea Eagle but at first glance I prefer the tie downs and storage space provided in the AE1007. And now... I must go plan for my deflating and dry out video. Thanks for the idea!

      Definitely understand what you're talking about here. I have an AE kayak and it is stable, rigid and hardwearing (although it arrived with 2 leaking bail valves which filled the boat with water the first time I tried to use it and AE's response was to send me some glue and tell me to glue them shut instead of replacing or fixing it which I was not impressed about given how expensive it was and says bad things about their quality control) but overall I regret buying it. I don't use it anywhere near as often as I'd like as it's heavy when dry, and extremely so after being in the water. Trying to lift it out by myself onto docks after a kayak is often an awkward nightmare and needs a trolley to wheel it back to the car as I reckon it often weighs at least 30kg wet. It also takes multiple days at least in hot weather to dry out, and at least 2-3 weeks in cooler weather. I once packed it away thinking it was completely dry, but there must have still been some moisture somewhere and when I pulled it out month later it was full of mildew and needed a full scrub out. There needs to be a better way to get into the compartments to dry them out more easily as water always gets between the tubes and canvas sections.

    hello from Russia! :) .How did the intex kayak perform? what are the disadvantages?

    • @RockClimbinGrandma
      @RockClimbinGrandma  3 года назад +1

      It's a good little vessel that is good for mild rivers. Draw back is that it is small so for some people it may be uncomfortable and it won't fit much extra stuff.
