Cheers Paul. We aim to please. I actually had to use this trick to sort a front puncture suffered upon leaving Portugal on the 2023 trip where we met up with you, so now I can confirm that it works in anger!
Many thanks - encouragement is much appreciated! I will continue to be utterly inconsistent in the regularity of video output although I am sort of vaguely plotting the next one at the moment. Thanks for watching.
Any stick in a storm Mike - but I do like the price of mine (although I'd have preferred to leave out the broken vertebrae part of the cost). I did try to give the NHS their sticks back, but they wouldn't take them. More recently they seem to have changed that policy but it's too late - the hacksaw has done its work!
One of the practical upshot of the US Healthcare system is that if you need a set of crutches in order to make a bike stick, you needn't go out and break 2 vertebrae to get them. You can just rock up at the hospital with 50 bucks and get a pair. 😊
Fair enough, but one of the practical upshots of the UK system is that if you DO happen to snap a couple of vertebrae wings clean off, you don't need £500k's worth of insurance to get 'em fixed. In fact you don't need anything other than to be a UK citizen. Which comes in handy if you suffer a government hell bent on further disadvantaging anyone already disadvantaged...and for sure that's what we got over here right now!
@@motonige for the record, I'm an anarchist. Because government is at best incompetent and at worst malicious in anything they control. And I'm not a fan of the US Healthcare system. But it's still better than socialized state run Healthcare.
@@takotafischer2228 Forgive me, my friend, if I SO don't get into all this. We're in a sort of meltdown scenario over here just now but, hilarious though this must seem to the rest of the watching world, it may yet prove to be symptomatic of a general western civilisation malaise from which all will soon suffer. I hope not, but things are looking somewhat shaky. Best just ride and smile while we can
@@motonige I feel your pain my friend. Those of with a little bit of gray matter have been watching things fall apart on this side of the pond for 20 years.
Actually had to use the stick in Portugal a couple of weeks ago. Punctured front on a sharp rock. Added a strap to my mate’s bike for some extra security while the wheel was out. The trip continues - currently in Andorra. 5000kms so far around the Iberian peninsula . 👍
love it so practical, and the humour well🙄🤣🤣👍

The Enduro Star Trailstand TS3 is basically what you are alluding to lol.

You could use the leverage of the stand as you showed, and a strap to a tree or solid object.
