Correct me if I’m wrong but does she sit mainly to cover the foot joint to achieve certain pitches? And yes I am so glad she is posting on her RUclips channel to spread some truly decadent music!
Wouter Lensvelt I see what went wrong. I meant to say “decadent” not “decent” because for some reason I thought it had a positive connotation. Clearly I did not know what it meant (I just checked the dictionary😂). What I meant to say was something like beautiful and extraordinary.
@@austin7 to the sitting while playing: surely it's easier to hit the knee notes (maybe even more suitable visually for some pieces). But sitting is also an artistic decision because the expression is different that way, more introverted, connected with the music as opposed to being able to move more and (maybe) having a greater charisma when standing.
This was exactly what I needed today. I just found out I have to have hand surgery. It was nice to be reminded that there’s plenty of beautiful music out there to listen too even if I can’t be the one playing it for now.

What I really like about quarantine is that having to deal with less people gives, at least me, a calmer attitude. I've always liked music, but at the moment I'm much more capable to really appreciate it. Thank you very much for sharing your music with us!
Thanks for giving me joy. My uncle and cousin are fighting for their lives from Covid in hospital. My family has had a horrible year and we need prayers for our country to survive. God bless you Lucie and everyone
But what's with that buzzing sound in the background? Like the window is open to the traffic sounds, or the airconditioning was being tested at the same time.
This is awesome! I love the disciplined baroque pieces mixed with the alternative techniques of modern pieces, and that Debussy one that I've somehow NEVER heard before. Great interview too - Dutch is such a fun sounding language :) I love the empty concert hall performance idea but I love full ones more, so let us know once this is over when your American tour is! I'll be first in the ticket line.
"The first work in particular was very touching" F*** sh** it was! I stayed till the end with such an amazing start! What a wonderful rendition! Overwhelming performance! :´-) -Thanks!- Dank je wel!
This performance of Syrinx was a revelation. I'm pretty certain the archaic dimension of the recorder sound, as opposed to that of the metal concert flute, is something that would've pleased the composer of the piece.
Looking forward to more! The interview was wonderful. If you made videos sharing about your life as a recorder player, I'm sure many of us would enjoy watching.
Thanks for this great concert. I especially like the fast piece by Van Eyck. I thought Maurice Steger was the fastest recorder player, but I think you are faster.
edit: I really liked the piece that was played on the tenor recorder. I was under the impression is was a more modern piece but i dont know. it was really interesting and i enjoyed it very much! how do you memorize all that music ?? I cant even memorize one piece. I always need sheet music in front of me.
It must be really weird to play to an almost empty audience and have no clapping - I feel sorry for Lucie and all musicians that are performing right now. However, they are of course playing to many many people so that's good.
Wow! I got to know you from the TwoSet jokes and i'm really thankfull. Your performance is so beatiful! you're amazing.

With no people around, you get to appreciate the sound of the instrument even more. Well done at your performance!

ngl I thought she was improving the second one LOL cool to know it's an actual piece though

Wow that Debussy on recorder is so beautiful and mysterious! I love it!
Syrinx on the recorder hits different 🔥🔥 Wonderful performance!
Beside the wonderful playing, I listened to the interview and was impressed. When I was twenty I certainly wasn't as articulate and mature.

Lucie Horsch! You’re amazing
9:30 reminds me of birds singing early in the morning by my window. Makes me feel like I'm Cinderella or Snow White.
