I just had a trip down memory lane, sorting 3 big carrier bags of fabric I saved from when I made my little girl’s clothes. She is now 42 and I always intend to make her a quilt from these scraps. I’m finally inspired so thank you Kristen 😊
Awesome! I’m sure she will treasure that quilt. I have some of my kids saved too - they are only 4 & 6 though so not feeling I need to make that memory quilt just yet.
Hi so excited to start I’m a little late, been on holiday 😊 I’ve never done crumb quilting but I watch all your tutorials!!!! I’m the one who would buy fabric lol 😂 so I’ve set myself a challenge and I’m determined to complete this quilt without spending a penny, wish me luck!!!!
I am looking forward to this project, however life just got in the way and can’t start for another week or so. Watching this again so will try doing a bit of sewing!
I am finished the blocks for the quilt a long, they need squaring up, but I have put them aside for now, I need to reorganize my time and projects. I seem to have less time and more projects………Looking forward to finishing up. Thank you Kristen
Hi Kristen,I'm all aboard. I'm ore of a scrappy kinda gal. Love your blocks. I'm going to go fir the biggest.. the sampler quilt. I've never done foundation so I'd like to try thst... but right now after seeing this video I'm kinda loving the loo bog hexagone. I've never done that either. Thanks fir doing this. It's going to be super fun. Hugs
Just signed up for this quilt along! I like the way your brain processes these blocks..No worries, it will all work out. Love the two color sides for the hexagon block!
Hi Kristen, I had a lot of fun back in January. Unfortunately, I’ve got to much going on at this time to join in, & then there’s life alongside. Maybe I can join in on your next quilt along. Good to see you and I’ll be following to see what fun you’re having. Take care, 🥰👍 Chris
I really like the second version with the light background ! I would have liked to join , but sadly don't have the time. But I will follow your process of making it!
We must be sisters ))) Our fabric brains work the same. I LOVVVE crumb quilts. Planning the 4th, but Sweetie hasn't chosen his "pattern".... gotta have Some direction right? Your hex log cabin inspires me. ))))
Just signed up, don't know if it will be just scraps or a mix of stash fabric. I have never sorted by color so this might take sometime before getting going. But this sounds like fun.
Omg, you are a genius! You are so right about the buying of the fabric, the stuffing of the unfinished project in the back of a drawer, all the things! I’m so in with your methods! Makes a lot of sense to me! I would really love to do the pink and navy, very chic, but most of my scraps are greens. Not sure what my contrast colour will be, but no matter. I signed up for the emails but didn’t get one today, is that a problem? I’m really going to try and make this along with you. Thank you for doing this and I love the divided divided heart block, or whatever you call it!
So glad it makes sense to you! The first email should go out soon don’t worry. Let me know if you don’t get anything by tomorrow! Hope you enjoy the QAL!
Hi I’ve got the 77b but after using it with the white spool and thread that was in the machine already and sewed several seams and part hems, fine. Then changed both with another colour, yet the machine just locked with knots and sewed huge stitches backwards, there’s also a sort of triangular with a longish dot near the middle of the display. I’ve watched loads of videos, but no joy, can’t get rid of the mark and can’t sew . Help please.
I signed for the email but I don't have a lot of scraps, but I do have a lot of fabric yards, I will try to follow the sew along but no promises 😊 it depends on my shoulder.
There is no limit for how small it will just be more fiddly for you in the first few passes the smaller you go - but it will get easier as the block gets bigger. For how big….that is more of an aesthetic thing. I would probably not go bigger than 4” sides and I would usually use smaller than that myself. The more of the block is taken up with the starting hexi the less of the strips around it you will have. I would always say experiment with whatever size template you have to hand and if you like how it looks go for it! If bigger works for you do it!
They come out on Mondays. There have been two so far. If you sign up to the quilt along (sign up in the video description) you’ll get the emails with each new video and all the handouts.
Wow, I love those colors! Where did you get that wallpaper? 🥹 I’m going to jump on this project. I’ll post a video and link to you when I get my blocks done.
Do you have a favorite layout? Can't wait to see what you make!
Too funny: "I'm not sayin it's you, but if it is, you know." This sounds fun and productive.
😂 glad it sounds fun! Hope you can join in!
Agree.

Glad you are excited!
Getting a late start but i love the idea and have some scrap blocks already started years ago just sitting in a box...
I just found this sew a long so I am a week behind. Hoping to get caught up soon. Thanks for doing this.
You’ll catch up no problem!

No worries Chris! Thanks so much for watching along!
I love both versions. My plan is the first one. If I have time, I'll try the brightly colored one.
Fab! Love that you are going to give it a go! 🎉
Love your color choice and both versions of the hexagon block. I have signed up for the quilt along
Yeah! 🎉
@@ScrapFabricLove I didn’t get the first email about the block but I did receive the second email block information
Send me an email at hello@scrapfabriclove.com and I’ll make sure you get all the handouts!
@@ScrapFabricLove thank you
LOVE this block! Thank you!!
So glad you liked it!
It's not harsh. Your sandbox, your rules.
Thanks Debby!
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
I'm going to do the sampler size, I think. Wish I was home with all my scraps. When I get home, I'll get caught up.
Fab! Glad you can sew along! 🎉
I really like the second version with the light background ! I would have liked to join , but sadly don't have the time. But I will follow your process of making it!
Thanks! The videos will be here in future if you ever want to come back. Thanks for watching!

Fab! Of course bust your stash at the same time - makes sense!

Hi great video Thank you Just signed up and hope to produce a true scrappy use it up and No purchase sampler quilt 😀
Awesome! So glad you can take part!

Sounds frustrating! Have you phoned the dealer you bought the machine from? They should be able to help.
I signed for the email but I don't have a lot of scraps, but I do have a lot of fabric yards, I will try to follow the sew along but no promises 😊 it depends on my shoulder.
If you want to treat it as a stash buster no problem! Whatever you fancy! Hope your shoulder doesn’t cause you trouble. Take care of yourself!
@@ScrapFabricLove thanks 😊 it is a bit of arthritis so I have to live with it and take things slowly 🐌.
Slow and steady wins the race…sorry you are having to live with pain. Hugs!
My scraps are organized by size rather than colour…..I will see how I adapt as we go along!
Might make it quicker for you to find the size you are looking for than me. We all work differently and that’s fine!
I’ll post on Instagram, not sure how it’s gonna turn out. I just about freaked out when I saw you square up a hexagon, lol.
😂 sorry I freaked you out!
??? Engender the blocks are finished, will this be a quilt as you go, or a huge top that needs to be quilted on a big machine?
When. Not. Engender...Hate auto correct
I am doing it as one quilt top but I know some others are planning on doing quilt as you go rows which is possible too.
I think this is a great sew along I love to watch what you are doing but sadly unable to take part.
No worries! Thanks for watching!!
How small can I go on the hexi centre or how large. I am aiming for the two hexi’s finishing at 12 1/2

Did I miss something? When is the first email coming after signing up?
You should have got it if you signed up - if it didn’t come just email me direct at hello@scrapfabriclove.com and i’ll get it to you.
I’m on the same playing field. Patterns drive me crazy ….
❤
Thanks Donna!

I have developed an eye muscle disorder and am getting used to new glasses. I may be very slow but I am going to persevere.
There is no time limit! The videos and handouts will all still be there however long it takes you. Glad you can take part!
Where did you say the 12 1/2” block is? Sorry
Have you signed up to get the quilt along emails? All the info is in there.
I found it is your handout, sorry to bother you
No worries!
Oh yes I did sign up, I went in and saw the one for the 18 1/2 size not the 12 1/2. Oh boy not getting out to a good start
I watched one you did a while ago I just want to see how big you cut the centre hexie for the 12 1/2” block
Wow, I love those colors! Where did you get that wallpaper? 🥹 I’m going to jump on this project. I’ll post a video and link to you when I get my blocks done.
Fab - glad you liked it. The wallpaper is from spoonflower.
