I bought a few dozen of these at my local DOLLAR TREE for $1.25 each !!? Good stuff !!!
Would it be good on a bun like a sloppy joe?
@@ultramagapatriot5874 I mixed two pouches of the beef crumbles in with one can of Manwich, heated it up and it made a decent sloppy joe substitute. Not as good as making it with ground beef but much easier and faster to prepare.
Is it really spicy?
@@sandyshephard4571 I would say medium + spicy.
Great ideas.... Crumbles + refried beans+ cheese + tortillas = either quesadillas or beef and bean burritos. I have tried it for spaghetti as you mentioned and also used it as the meat in taco soup (crumbles, beans, tomatoes, corn, broth). Oh and prepare a box of the deluxe mac and cheese or shells and cheese and add a vegetable side dish.
FYI-In addition to the beef crumbles, Hereford has the following in pouches:
Meatballs
Shredded beef
Ribs
Chili
Taco filling
And corned beef and beef with gravy in cans.
I got mine at Walmart.
Great point! I buy the meatballs by the “ case” ( a box of 12 bags). What a great addition to spaghetti or on a sub roll! This company is truly an unsung hero- good quality and no waste every time.
@@muddyshoesgardener So True! 👍👍👍😀💕🍀
FYI; My Dollar tree also has hereford chili con carne
Thank you! Checking Walmart tomorrow.
@marykeele2723 Great! 👍👍👍
I love all the Hereford products --- ok, maybe not the meatballs - but the rest are all great. Add rice, pasta or instant potatoes --- BOOM! Meal for 2 (or 3 if necessary)
The spicy seasoned crumbles is more like chili --- they also have taco seasoned beef!!
This would be good in a quick beef vegetable soup. I use dehydrated browned ground beef, but this is quick and effortless source of cooked ground beef. Add a can of mixed vegetables , a can of diced tomatoes or tomato soup, and diced potatoes and carrots. A splash of ALDI chili sauce kicks the flavor up a notch. From the prepper pantry substitute dehydrated frozen carrots, corn and mixed vegetables.
Sour cream would tone down the spice.
I've had them before, their pretty good. Just make sure you pay attention to the date. You don't want to put it in your pantery and forget about it.
If you want it less spicy, rinse away some or all of the seasonings in a strainer
Thats outside the box. Thx.
Most canned chili these days are so thin and lacking in meat, I would add the crumbles to a can of milder chili and serve over rice or spaghetti. (With a little shredded extra sharp cheddar and some chopped green onions if I have them.)
Thanks, I can ground beef but this would be handy in the the bagged meals to go.
I'm going to order some. Thanks and have a blessed day.
You can also rinse with hot water to remove some of the spiciness.
I’ve done that with other things! I also do it with some canned foods that I don’t like the sauce they are in.
I found some of the Hereford beef crumbles at DollarTree for $1.25. The protein count is incredible, as is the value especially considering that there are no fillers and it is gluten-free.
Great IDEAS,AG!
This bachelor would love more Hobo Foil meal ideas... I liked the sausage/mixed vegetables. Easy and no mess or cleanup 😋
I've tried & spicy it is. I cut with rice & not enough do maybe I'll add the tomatoes too because I bought 2. 😊
Thank you for the information! Our family's digestive systems can't handle spicy food.
Thank you AG for the suggestions! ❣️🙏
I don't remember ever seeing these before. Definitely a change from the usual tuna and chicken pouches. It would be great for hurricane 🌀 preparedness. Especially since it's already seasoned.👍
Really good topic A.G.
Quick soup: Add Spicy Beef Crumbles to beef broth, macaroni or rice add can or fresh vegies. Could feed many if need too.
Today is baking day. I plan on making 6 loaves of zucchini bread to give to family and friends.
A couple of days ago, bought some Rip and Ready Chli Con Carne at Dollar Tree. Haven't tried it yet. Somehow, I think I should have bought more! They didn't have the Beef Crumble packet. Thanks for sharing ideas.
The Pack of 12 7oz’s roast beefs
Went Up
from $34.99 to $54.99 Overnight!
😳🇺🇸
🤬🤬
The Heredord shredded beef with ranch style canned beans makes a good chilie mild.
I found these at Dollar Tree too. They're out of stock. I hope they get more in soon!
Thank you AG for this video! I was wondering about these beef crumbles.😊😊😊
Would this be good on hamburger buns like sloppy joes
Hereford also makes a pouch of meatballs in spaghetti sauce… I have a bunch of them, but have not tried them yet..
My BF liked them.
Thank you! I’ve got to rip open a pouch and try them.. I’m not a picky eater, so I’ll probably like them, too!
Hi AG, we are familiar with the Hereford brand and try to buy it to add to the pantry. However one thing I wanted to share with you and your viewers was that we went to the store on Sunday and there was a big sign in front of the section that had the Hereford canned Roast Beef with gravy (12 oz cans) saying that they would no longer be carrying it. Our same store stopped carrying all brands including their Kroger brand of canned turkey about a year ago and have never replaced it.
So something to keep an eye on, the Hereford brand seems to be very good but it appears that they may be eliminating some choice for canned meats and fish and then not having more sources available to continue to offer them. Not sure if this is because they want to push the faux meats instead of real meat, chicken and fish or what is going on.
One day a man working in the meat section told my husband as a cost saving measure, our store (Kroger affiliate) was no longer employing butchers on site in each store, and the meat and fish sold through the store are processed and packed at one facility and trucked into each store. They also reduced their deli section about the first of the year saying some of the products like the better quality meats and such were harder to get.
True here in Indiana too. I picked out a whole pork loin that was on sale and went to the meat handling area, and they said they no longer even have the machinery for cutting meat (Meijer).
Granny did you get yours from $ tree?
Those beef crumbles are to spicy for me. I tried them once.
I checked our area Walmart stores. Apparently we don't have that brand available in our stores. But I love the idea.
At walmart same thing is 3.50 ,dollar tree 1.25
Great meal ideas!
Good ideas, thanks for sharing.
Hungry Jack hash brown scramble eggs, beef crumbles and whatever else you can throw in. Or cook beef with hash browns have eggs on side.
No eggs...meat and hashbrowns. , vegies or fruit on side.
Just a heads up, We went to four Dollar Tree stores in two towns today and none had the Hereford Beef Crumble.😒
If you find some grab it! The packages could be great barter items.
As always great ideas. much better framing on video Thank you for sharing.
I hope you get a kickback from Hereford. I had everything else tonight but the beef you just mentioned. I had black bean tacos instead, then I used up the lettuce and made tiny tostadas out of round tortilla chips. If you don't have the taco shells, make tostadas, burritos, taco salad, nachos. I bet the beef crumbles would be good as spicy sloppy joes, hamburger buns from the freezer and whatever tomato products you care to add along with dehydrated onions, a small can of diced green chilis...maybe a small can of drained corn...
I tried this meat/ and crunchie tortillas
It was good.
It’s different then sandwiches and there are many times I don’t want to make tortillas PLENTY of times
Granny, I have been watching your videos for a while now and the info is so thoughtful. But the sound is so hard to hear, I have to crank up the volume so high that when the commercials come I wake up all my neighbors 😊 So sorry but you need a microphone.
I paid $3.25 for the Hereford beef crumbles. Not spicy just broth and salt. Where did you find that for $1.25? Was it Dollar Tree?
Yes, Dollar Tree sells them
@@cherylwmh6543 Thanks. I haven't seen those in my area at Dollar Tree.
@@cherylwmh6543 Popped in $tree today and they had chili no beans. I will keep an eye out for crumbles.
I think she said at the beginning of video that she got at dollar tree 👍
Thanks for the ideas. I have trouble figuring out what to combine together a lot of the time. ❤❤❤❤❤
Just wondering what's the shelf-life of beef crumbles.
Taco or enchilada casserole!👍 Mm I really am getting the idea! I love Mex food so this is pretty easy for me! 😋
Can I adopt you to be my granny!!❤ Thanks for helpful info.
very spicy lol we put it on a pizza. i have the not spicy but have not tried it yet
My Dollar Tree we only have one in my town ran out of the beef crumbles but now they have the Hereford brand chili con carne in a pouch.
Each pack is one serving for me. I don't see how 2 ounces is a serving
I'll make a personalized version, thanks!😎💯📠
My family’s favorites are the meatballs and taco meat
You can buy MRE flour tortillas for longer term storage.
Where do you buy MRE flour tortillas?
@leecopeland2061 I think eBay is the best place. Maybe a surplus store. They are good to have around.
Sounds good.I was at the dollar tree today but I didn't see these 😢
I also bought pepperoni and a small parm cheese at dollar tree for pizza or other ideas
I’ve seen these at the Dollar General, too.
Little by little is the only way to go! Thank you for the reminder. 💗
Those beef crumbles are a godsend. We use them in spaghetti, pasta, tacos and omelets. It heats up great!
Muddy, how spicy are they?
Thanks!! This beef looks great!
When I’m traveling, I like to stick a packet of these crumbles in my HotLogic, put some corn tortillas in a baggie and lay them on top of the crumbles and plug them in to my 12v plug in my car so that my lunch or dinner is heating up while I drive! All the fixings are in the fridge. Mmmm! Nice hot tacos and it’s plenty! A hearty meal!
Great meal ideas
I have never tried this brand. Thank you. Definitely will be great for 1 person...me.
