    I'm Filipino, and now I live in the U.S. You can't find pinakurat in the grocery store. You can either buy them in a Filipino store or order them online through Wee. I love the pink pinakurat, which is sweet and spicy.

    • @FoodXBert
      @FoodXBert  5 дней назад

      I love the pink one too. U can buy it from seafood city. But actually the pink one might be harder to find.

    that bigger version of kwek-kwek is called "tokneneng", it uses duck egg and I always thought it was a chicken egg
    Duck egg is relatively cheaper than chicken egg

    • @FoodXBert
      @FoodXBert  6 дней назад

      That's interesting. In China and USA Duck egg is more expensive because the ducks typically lay 1 egg every other day but maybe in Philippines since it's warmer maybe the ducks there lay an egg everyday as well. And there could be breeds that lay more eggs too. This egg I had didn't taste so good but I'm open to trying it a couple more times to make sure it wasn't just a weird tasting one. The most expensive egg in China is a goose egg. They only lay an egg every 3 days I think.

  • @alroberts193
    @alroberts193 2 дня назад

    You are absolutely right; inflation in the United States is astronomical. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is one of the most expensive cities in the country. Gas prices here are extremely high-among the highest in the nation-because it has been refined to reduce gasoline emissions.

    You can make your own pinakura, just add lots of ginger,chile onion,pepper and sugar t but the best vinegar you can use is vinegar from Ilocos or Tuba ( from coconut)
    just be moderate because its cause acidity. Enjoy life in the Philippines 😊

    Thanks Duterte. Also, penoy is basically infertile duck eggs. "Bugok" egg to be specific. So they are borderline, rotten. But specific bacteria that is specific for that egg makes the smell and taste distinct.

    isn't penoy just a hard boiled egg (maybe duck egg, instead of chicken) dipped in batter then fried? tried penoy before and i didn't like it. thought the egg was bad already

    • @FoodXBert
      @FoodXBert  5 дней назад

      I think they put it into the incubator but I'm really not sure.

    • @FoodXBert
      @FoodXBert  5 дней назад

      Penoy is an infertile incubated duck egg or egg with dead embryos, which is also boiled for 20-30minutes like balut but sold at a lower price

      @FoodXBert  5 дней назад

      I think they were in the incubator

    dude,to answer your question man ..... the reason kay is clueless 'bout pinakurat vinegar is, bcuz she's from luzon, she's a tagalog ..... pinakurat was invented in iligan city,lanao del norte which is a part of (northern) mindanao ..... pinakurat is very famous in visayas & mindanao ..... mostly bisayan speakin' pinoys know pinakurat vinegar, but for whatever reason it never made it big in luzon area ..... so that's the reason kay & some tagalog speakin' people are clueless 'bout it ...... 😂🤣😂🤣-🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

    The Philippines I knew during the old Ferdinand E. Marcos was one of the cleanest country in the world. I can even sit on the sidewalks of Manila.
