  • Bebe's very good LP at Nationals. She was underscored and definitely should have been on the World team that year.

Bebe had the two most interesting programs at this nationals and yes I believe she was ranked lower than she should have been. I liked how the word "interesting" was used to describe Bebe's skating at this championship.

She deserved to win these Nationals over a mediocre Kwan and sloppy Cohen!

She lacks the talent to be a top skater. In the short she skated clean with the same jumps as Meissner who back then was a colitsh and immature and jerky skater, and still came soundly behind her. People used to think her generation was the best up and coming generation and instead this year someone like Michelle Kwan is easily winning Nationals with a boring and watered 5 triple program to her awful Bolero. This generation of non talents just ended up being a huge bust.

The judging was wrong. Liang shouldn't have been scored behind Meissner in the Short Program, nor Jenny Kirk in the Long Program. She should have finished 4th and been on the world team since Meissner was too young.

Well, Meissner did become World Champion the next year and was top 7 the 2 years following that. But yeah, US ladies skating really went down hill after Cohen and never recovered.
