Finally upgraded from my Note 9 to the Note 20 Ultra after almost 3 years. Have to say it's a great phone. Battery life is really good. I get around a day on battery. And with all those improvements, definitely worth getting.
@@swolgan3527 note 20 ultra will have a better battery life than even s20 ultra because of that adaptive refresh rate that can go all the way down to 1 hz and up to 120hz if supported so if a game is running at 30hz so will the note!
I love my S20 Ultra.... It has recently had a software update 2 x 2 one of them is to improve for auto focus and the other is to change the refresh from 60hz to 120hz
I do not understand why the rest of the world would get a phone that has a weaker chip set and still has to pay the same amount of money as the qualcomm version. That is preposterous really.
Sadly we don't have much of an option. Personally I won't notice the difference as I'm not a regular user of demanding programs. However having the worse chipset might be better in terms of battery life which for me would be a bit more useful. Still not worth it for the exynos at the same price. Pre-ordered mine today for $2100NZD/$1390USD with the bonus buds live and watch active. Looking forward to it.

Samsung, you have 2 options if you want to be loved everywhere throughout the world 1. Improve Exynos chipsets ( the better one to the company ) 2. Only use Qualcomm chipsets.
I Love the Note 20 Ultra. For me it's the looks and the overall upgrade with the camera. Also the s pen and box design looks great. And then the colours do the Note justice over the s20 ultra.
I pre-ordered my note 9 back in 2018 and honestly she still runs like a beauty in every single way. The only problem is I cracked the top corner earlier this year and i dropped it on the corner of my table last week and now the back camera is simply demolished. Trying to figure out if I just get a new phone or pay to have this one fixed.
I've had the Note 8, 9, and currently the 10+. The 9 Deadass felt like the 8.2. Upgrading from the 9 to the 10+ definitely feels like a real upgrade than when I upgraded from the 8 to the 9.
I’ve got a Note 10 Plus 5G which I bought in the sales in November 2019. I’m aiming to keep my Note 10 Plus 5G for about 5 years. The last (and first!) Note phone I bought was the Note 4 which I still have. I really like the Note20 Ultra, but not enough to replace my Note 10 plus 5G which is still a fantastic phone. I’m looking forward to some of the Note 20 Ultra software related features to maka their way to the Note 10 Plus 5G soon.
for the finger print scanner: save one finger and then click on test and then move the finger a bit around and it will save more of it which makes faster it works on every scanner from samsung, even on the s7, s8, s9 and the a series
The policy for the Android OS updates for at least 3 years is one-year retroactive, meaning the S10 and Note 10 upwards are also included in the policy. It’s notable however that the policy only includes flagship handsets.
Well its obvious not to upgrade, thats just silly. It still confuses me that people will but the latest model every year its a waste of money its worth it if your on a phone thats at least 4 - 5 years old

With One UI 2.5 coming to the S20 Ultra a lot of the software gaps currently will be filled, I personally like the bigger battery than the Note 20 Ultra has, though with the more efficient CPU (in Canada anyway) it might balance out to be similar? But I likely won't be upgrading next year either, possibly the following year.
I really should have waited for the Note 20 series instead of buying the Note 10+ 😅 this is hands down one of the most aesthetically pleasing (with the exemption of that camera bump) and a productivity powerhouse (if you have the SD 865+ soc) phone that Samsung produced.
Hey Supersaf! I have a question. In my region we get the Exynos version. We pay the same amount of money as in Europe. BUT we get the Note 20 ULTRA with 8gb of ram only! NOT 12gb ram. Do you know the reason for it? And is it even possible? Thank you!
Yeah its because the better version's features are supported in europe and your country doesnt support the newer features so thats why it gets the old features

I have that 16GB of ram s20 Ultra at the moment, I think the note looks absolutely great in terms of the design!! I love the matte glass look A LOT. but I'm not too much of a fan of the squared off edges because they seemed to dig into your hands a lot in a bad way imo... I think I'm going to wait until next February for the new Galaxy S Series phone because by then they should have the camera module and design perfect by then.
I'm still happy with my S20 Ultra, even though the color choices are so BLAND versus the base models. I don't get that at all. I know you can get a case, but still. S20 is still a great phone.
I'm not buying Samsungs until they either give us the Snapdragon variant here or until they make a Exynos chipset equal to Snapdragon chipset. Ill be looking at other brands from now on.

Great review, however I can't see how the note 20 should be so much better than my S20 ultra, they are so similar, Samsung should have dropped the Note for this year and waited a year to maybe launch something really different and improved instead of giving us more of the same in a new packaging.

Use that to calculate how long it would take to get a new phone, If i worked 30 hours a week at minimum wage for a 20 year old in the uk then I'd get around £200 a week, spend half that on the phone an you'll get a s20 ultra in over 2 months. OR get it on contract. If you get the finance sorted out then it's just a matter of finding a job, especially during the pandemic

One thing to consider with all these new bright and high res OLEDs is screen burn in, it's one thing that can, in my opinion, ruin the user experience. Although I know the high refresh rates help in a way, it can still happen.
THANKS YOU ! You are the ONLY person I saw who talked about the fingerprint scanner ! I wasted so much time looking at other reviews who didn't even mention it had a fingerprint scanner... And knowing it doesn't have the 3D Sonic Max is a big information and a HUGE stupid/dick move from Samsung, that was literally the only reason I wanted to follow the release of this phone... Had they choose the 3D Sonic Max and have it work well since the beginning, it would have had the potential to prove to everyone the superiority of ultrasonic FPS and make the whole smartphone market get better security, but they stupidly took the older and lesser one...Again ! And I think the ONLY reason, is because Qualcomm refused to give them the exclusivity over that sensor.... After the S20 lack of 3D Sonic Max, if I was in charge of Qualcomm, I would have accepted the 3D Sonic Max exclusivity to Samsung but also immediately proceed to make an even better one but keep it secret until the Note 20 would have been release, that way Samsung would have basically be a living ad for ultrasonic FPS. But after Qualcomm revealed the 3D Sonic Max along with the SD865 serie, apparently Apple made a deal with them to get this sensor on their next iPhone, so all hope isn't lost, maybe Apple would be the first to have a 3D facial recognition and an ultrasonic FPS at once, proving both the superiority of ultrasonic FPS and that we don't have to choose between 3D facial recognition and fingerprint scanner but that both can be better as user have the choice of their preferred method, and that security can be exponentially better using the two together.
Still rocking the note 3, I was so excited for this. But not really blown away. Before the note series used to be quite a bit better than the S line. however it seems now its just the S ultra plus stylus. I guess will wait to see what the iphone comes up with
The cosmic grey s20ultra looking far better. The note 20ultra has amazing specs but the note 20, and 20+ were left behind. They improved how much higher zooms quality but stopping at 50x ruined potential, but we saw that from hawei too. Everyone used it in wrong lighting, angles, and surprisingly distance😂. I got good use of high 70s and was able to read far away signs w 100x. I like the new 120hz adaptation, and the laser focus, I'm sure the camera will be great but they r going closer and closer to flat screens wich r pretty shitty tbh. It seems they did some things just to keep the price down. Edit: um the 100x was usable buddy u pointed the cam right into sunlight and zoomed on a fog😂 literally proved my point.

Great review, however I can't see how the note 20 should be so much better than my S20 ultra, they are so similar, Samsung should have dropped the Note for this year and waited a year to maybe launch something really different and improved instead of giving us more of the same in a new packaging.

Use that to calculate how long it would take to get a new phone, If i worked 30 hours a week at minimum wage for a 20 year old in the uk then I'd get around £200 a week, spend half that on the phone an you'll get a s20 ultra in over 2 months. OR get it on contract. If you get the finance sorted out then it's just a matter of finding a job, especially during the pandemic

One thing to consider with all these new bright and high res OLEDs is screen burn in, it's one thing that can, in my opinion, ruin the user experience. Although I know the high refresh rates help in a way, it can still happen.

I wasted so much time looking at other reviews who didn't even mention it had a fingerprint scanner...
And knowing it doesn't have the 3D Sonic Max is a big information and a HUGE stupid/dick move from Samsung, that was literally the only reason I wanted to follow the release of this phone...
Had they choose the 3D Sonic Max and have it work well since the beginning, it would have had the potential to prove to everyone the superiority of ultrasonic FPS and make the whole smartphone market get better security, but they stupidly took the older and lesser one...Again !
And I think the ONLY reason, is because Qualcomm refused to give them the exclusivity over that sensor....
After the S20 lack of 3D Sonic Max, if I was in charge of Qualcomm, I would have accepted the 3D Sonic Max exclusivity to Samsung but also immediately proceed to make an even better one but keep it secret until the Note 20 would have been release, that way Samsung would have basically be a living ad for ultrasonic FPS.
But after Qualcomm revealed the 3D Sonic Max along with the SD865 serie, apparently Apple made a deal with them to get this sensor on their next iPhone, so all hope isn't lost, maybe Apple would be the first to have a 3D facial recognition and an ultrasonic FPS at once, proving both the superiority of ultrasonic FPS and that we don't have to choose between 3D facial recognition and fingerprint scanner but that both can be better as user have the choice of their preferred method, and that security can be exponentially better using the two together.

Still rocking the note 3, I was so excited for this. But not really blown away. Before the note series used to be quite a bit better than the S line. however it seems now its just the S ultra plus stylus. I guess will wait to see what the iphone comes up with

The cosmic grey s20ultra looking far better. The note 20ultra has amazing specs but the note 20, and 20+ were left behind. They improved how much higher zooms quality but stopping at 50x ruined potential, but we saw that from hawei too. Everyone used it in wrong lighting, angles, and surprisingly distance😂. I got good use of high 70s and was able to read far away signs w 100x. I like the new 120hz adaptation, and the laser focus, I'm sure the camera will be great but they r going closer and closer to flat screens wich r pretty shitty tbh. It seems they did some things just to keep the price down.
Edit: um the 100x was usable buddy u pointed the cam right into sunlight and zoomed on a fog😂 literally proved my point.
