I have been using Honda City RS petrol for 6 months now. At first I was quite sceptical about the price. However, after months of doing the comparison, watching reviews and asked the owners, I finally bought a city. And so far, I love the car very much. The 4 car is the almera the exterior is nice but the interior is not going for me I don’t know why the interior is small no rear aircond vent no and etc but to round everything up my favourite car is the s70 the design is nice and beautiful it has the right proportions and the interior is nice .
S70 + for performance fresh design in our market all others in this comparison insanely boring lol! (except Almira) , negative part, thirsty for city drive , start off from stationary really need refinement that sudden surge in power/torque can be a bit dangerous .
Great comparison. I own s70 because of the comfort. Its weird because im a 140kg gorilla and of all 4 cars, i feel a lot spacious in the proton. It is a c-segment tho.
@@jessccy yeah. Very elegant and timeless design. Wondering how the facelift model would be. Really want AC included as current model won't be getting any except for X70 recently launched facelift.
S70 is like B+ segment for me 😅 The size stuck in B segment but for the performance more to C segment car. I think Proton nowadays is more reliable and practically. We can see x70 since 2018 until now already get more (+) feedback from Malaysian. I believe Proton is trying the best. So if someone who need feel good performance + luxury, s70 might be the good one. Value money, for long term like I said Proton is trying to deliver the best. City + Vios still the best for their own durability, they have their own fans same goes to Almera.
I am biased towards Almera, the seat and comfort is great for me at least, although it's sad that the rear headroom is lacking. Fuel economy wise, at least you still can achieve it on the lowest spec model. Honda City, only the RS model if im not wrong. Toyota, anyone who buys them generally don't care for it's looks. Honda nothing to say, good all rounder, just minus any steering feel. Proton S70, cant deny, it's a good car too, if you have no issues with paying for more fuel.
Honda City ftw, best overall package. boot space, interior space, fuel efficiency, reliable no ping pong ADAS, only beaten by s70 for engine performance.
I really don't like the body shapes of the Almera, City or Vios. Granted, the design of the Vios is nice but it still stubby in design. The S70 has really nice proportions. The interior is really nice, it has a lot of good tech and I will always take dual clutch over a CVT. Proton did pretty well with the S70. Second favourite would be the Vios cause the handling of the chassis is really nice and its still good looking even though its kind of stubby. Third would be the City for me cause performance and lastly would be the Almera. But if you have any of them, you're doing pretty well. Nice comparison video and especially love the Tiny Tim segment as its really helpful to judge the space in the back seats👍
Agree with you regarding the s70 it has nice proportion and the interior is nice but I put honda second and vios third and the last almera if possible I will like to put the vios second but can’t la because of the materials used in the car aside from the vios would have been second for me.
Persona is a reliable car if you can invest on the tires. Mine already clocked 150k km, never broke down, never let me down. The only complaint i have is the rims is too soft and tires less favourable. Switched the tires to michelin xm2 and changed raxer rims 15 inch, now its smooth glider.
If you taking finance or loan then might want the Jap cars may be considered if cash diff story . Assuming you take a 7-9 yr loan on local car better then go Jap la.
@pistonmalaysia thanks for this video covering the differences between the cars, it sure must have been a challenge trying to recall the differences across the board. However i think you could improve with your script, there are moments where your statements are contradictory - for example you started the review of the vios with a pretty unimpressive personal view of the car, and then when you stepped inside you said that it was an impressive car, and this particular behavior continues throughout this review. Looking forward to more of your vids sir 👍
On the other hand, not scripting means raw opinion...which is what we want isn't it?...mainstream TV is already heavily scripted and screened, come on.
@@AreQymiy For your information, this video shows the Honda City RS Petrol variant not the hybrid variant. Petrol variant has the largest boot space among the 4.
I would wonder if is it a rs petrol or ehev.. but once that guy came into that car i know from the handbrake.. it is petrol bro.. not rs hybrid.. @AreQymiy
Honda City is one of largest boot space in B segment. 519 liter. Pls kindly do refer to the specification from Official Honda Malaysia. The information given in the video as 410L is for the hybrid version which was not use here in this comparison.
I drove all 4 in a harsh manner and i think the almera is the sportiest handling of the lot. The s70 has a fun gearbox but not very comfy. The vios is literally the worst one compared to the past two generations, its underpowered, poor nvh and not comfortable at all. The city is literally overall better. Comfortable, good nvh, handling is alright, decent power and i felt that the fuel consumption is better during jam as compared to the rest. Could be better on corners and agility but that can be modified in the long run. Eventually decided to get a city, i hope that decision is not gonna bite me while i wait for my car to be delivered 😅
@@lplp7656 almera has the most sportiest drive but the engine is not great. After my test drive i could barely hold the bonnet and open it, too hot. Also this one u will 100% know its 3 cylinders. It vibrates like crazy

The proton X70 3 cylinder engine has mounting issues due to its harsh vibration. This Proton S70 basically the same setup so most probably the current owner will face this silly premature mounting failure in the near future.
City no doubt that have the biggest interial and much comfortable to be, talk about engine it have the most powerful 1.5 NA in the market. Vios like feel like Daihatsu instead like previous model. Nissan Almera totally not in my list because it has the worst interial to be and much smaller than Axia, this car totally no power although with the turbo engine. S70 have the most powerful and best handling, but definitely not C segment car and as you say B+ segment. For me totally will chose Honda, I chose a car that have better reliability and for long term use, not to regret later.
@@haarrvingvraj5500wrong, s70 actually in C segment... close compare with Altis Corrola not Civic Fe.... Same size, powerful engine, premium interior.etc

Get a car based on your primary wan, sometime we are too concerned with distractions (including offer and discounts) and ended up dreading their decision; after all it is a huge investment.
Interesting comparisons although rather long video.. I own the Almera and it serves me well, easy to drive and very good fuel economy, lacking in power? Not for me, on highways can easily reach 120kmph on a 2K rpm with fuel economy not sacrificed.. my wife owns the S70.. haha that’s a different type of driving feel altogether.
Which car would you say is better in comfort and fuel efficient while cruising on the highway @~110km/h? When I say comfort, it includes seats support and NVH level.
@@loserman007I can’t really comment on city and Vios as I don’t have those cars.. all I can say is the Almera can easily achieve around 22km/l and above on a cruising speed of 110kmph. But the NVH is not top class. Can hear road noise. The S70 is much quieter and smoother drive but won’t achieve the fuel efficiency of the almera. I find the Almera seats offer better support than the S70. Just my personal view. I guess there is no perfect car.
Honda city has 519L boot space. The 410L is for the hybrid only due to the battery. As the city has a handbrake, i believe that is the rs petrol variant with 519L space.
No spare tyre is a big concern to me. Hence toyota vios is a no go to me. Almera design is outstanding and better than his own old almera which looks very dumb. But a 1.0 is a small car engine no matter how it clarified himself a turbo or not. With the price of this segment, almera seem not a really worth for me. City and s70 is the first two runner for me as well. But, for design, I prefer s70 more.
My only problem with honda cars r the quality of the car is getting worst. If you watch any cvt gearbox problems video it must be from honda cars. This does not happen only in malaysia. Other countries also facing the same problem with honda's cvt.
All car is good.. but for me 2nd value is no 1.. i has preve and get excident total lost after use 3 year.. insuren just cover haft.. balance i must topup..😢. Settle this.. my choice after this vios/city only .. no more proton.. full stop.
I'm not into almera, but the design is much better tbh, then I'm waiting for 1 year for vios launching, putting the city on hold. But finally goes for city New vios is a disappointment. No spare tires are ok. But wadehek with produa parts and unfolded 6040 seat. The jerung vios is much3 better. S70? Well, after 11 years of owning a proton car, the car is doing well. But over time,it will deteriorate significantly. Yes, the sparepart is cheaper, but doesn't last long.
comparing all 4 cars and describing each of them is crazy amount of work. Details are bound to be missed like the city RS petrol actually has the biggest boot size at 519L, beating the s70 (410L is for ehev). Also, low speed follow is only available in ehev as well. Great video nonetheless, it certainly is not an easy feet to pull.
Drove the s70 and to be honest didn’t like it… doesn’t have that ride and handling proton is known for… but for what it offers can’t argue about that it’s leaps and bounds more compared to the other 3
Well done bro, 👏🏾.You did an amazing job and I can see your review is too honest unlike other paid reviewer's. Anyway send my regards to Tiny Tim🤗 Oh ya I'm Vishnu from Proton can pm anyone interested in S70 🤣
Almera on glacier grey and bodykit looks best to me. The rear spoiler stuck to the boot looks to sporty, there is another low profile spoiler which is flushed to the top of the boot, that one looks better than this to me. No doubt the Almera has less power than the rest but as what the reviewer found, it is most comfortable, fun and easy to drive with good nvh. This review forgot to mention that Honda City comes with rattling sound inside the cabin due to poor fit and finish. The City is the worst among Honda models to show rattling sound even though it is less than 1 year old.
this is literally a video about "you should buy honda city" but an hour video, bro is too biased with honda city, shouldnt make a comparison video if too biasedd...

yes tegap steady even pakai tayar stndrd 205/55/16 rse stabil je and cut off 192km walaupn engine sama axia tpi cpt naik speed dia n rasa ringan mcm feeling 1.8cc
In my view as an ex-mechanic, CVT Gearboxes are just way too noisy and also comes with a short lifespan, no doubt it is meant to safe fuel, but once pushed, it's like raping or torturing the gearbox and completely not fun to drive at all.
Almera lack of safety no ADAS Vios Mix match parts & design by Daihatsu & Toyota.. City..So far good package but S70 overall good..power safety design but the brand😅😅😅
kuro is black, black edition = kuro edition. tomei is the brand that is used for the bodykit. nothing confusing about kuro or tomei is used for almera.

Great comparison. I own s70 because of the comfort. Its weird because im a 140kg gorilla and of all 4 cars, i feel a lot spacious in the proton. It is a c-segment tho.
Was just thinking about this comparison and saw this video was posted 1 day ago. Excellent video and thanks for doing this comparison
Glad you liked it.
Ngl! This is what I've been waiting for. All my options in one video. Thank You !
I personally will lean more toward Proton... Unsure why...
@@wongkoewei9829 probably you like it for it's value for money, looks aint bad either.
@@jessccy yeah. Very elegant and timeless design. Wondering how the facelift model would be. Really want AC included as current model won't be getting any except for X70 recently launched facelift.
I test drive honda, vios and S70, i feel S70 is the best for me, Smooth, Power full, Voice command, The best Handling
I am driving GN2 honda city for 3 years... Closing to 4 years.. Love it. Fuel efficient. Reliable and confortable
Any rattling sound? Mine 1 Yr plus and lots of rattle at dashboard area
Previously owned vios 2015..Test drive vios 2024..feels like perodua..Exterior better than city 24.
Finally decided to buy city EHEV..powerfull.engine + jimattt minyak..to 25.7km/l.But comfort menang vios😊
Honda City ftw, best overall package. boot space, interior space, fuel efficiency, reliable no ping pong ADAS, only beaten by s70 for engine performance.
thanks a million for the review.just what im looking for! city for sure now for me with that 8k rebate
For now i wan trade my car..honda city to almera..looks nice sporty
I did my fair share of comparisons as well and ends up buying proton persona. 😂 Can’t beat the massive price gap.
@@azharhamzah7034are you referring to persona vvt?
@@azharhamzah7034mine is 160k km… no major issue, only small thing like aircond condenser and heat exchangers… but upgraded to x70 soon…
Good effort to organize and to the review the 4 cars. Very comprehensive and and a detailed video. Thanks for the effort.
nissan almera 🙌🙌, this car fun to drive ,minyak pun manyak jimat
@pistonmalaysia thanks for this video covering the differences between the cars, it sure must have been a challenge trying to recall the differences across the board. However i think you could improve with your script, there are moments where your statements are contradictory - for example you started the review of the vios with a pretty unimpressive personal view of the car, and then when you stepped inside you said that it was an impressive car, and this particular behavior continues throughout this review. Looking forward to more of your vids sir 👍
He doesn't like the exterior (especially the front) of Vios but there are other area of Vios that he likes. Don't think that's contradictory.
I appreciate this comment. Thank you for pointing out areas where I can improve.
On the other hand, not scripting means raw opinion...which is what we want isn't it?...mainstream TV is already heavily scripted and screened, come on.
Keep up the good work, ignore the negative comments below. Love the channel. Would be great if you added timestamps :)
And here i am, waiting patiently for the facelift version of S70, hoping that Proton will do whatever necessary from the feedbacks. I'm so excited.
The bootspace of Honda City is 519 liters. It’s not the smallest of the 4. It’s actually the largest. Kindly add corrections to the video.
For your information, honda city hybrid boot space only 410 litres. Only the petrol ones 519 litres.
@@AreQymiyin this video, City RS (Petrol version).
@@AreQymiy in the video is not hybrid
@@AreQymiy For your information, this video shows the Honda City RS Petrol variant not the hybrid variant. Petrol variant has the largest boot space among the 4.
I would wonder if is it a rs petrol or ehev.. but once that guy came into that car i know from the handbrake.. it is petrol bro.. not rs hybrid.. @AreQymiy
Bravo, for a good presentation, will order a S70 flagship x
Thank you!
Honda City is one of largest boot space in B segment. 519 liter. Pls kindly do refer to the specification from Official Honda Malaysia. The information given in the video as 410L is for the hybrid version which was not use here in this comparison.
My personal view..
space, comfort, practicality and safety - the City is my choice!
S70 rear light display reminds me of the Knight Rider lights. I wonder if the Chinese designers took some inspiration from KITT.
Also the design of a new kia. This year kdrama, almost all of them feature a car that has that kind of taillight.
Thanks for ur video.. really appreciate it...the way u explain so professional.i have better clarity after watching this... மிக்க நன்றி 🙏
Honda famous cvt gbox problems and also the steering rack kaput put off me from buying the City... Vios all the way for reliability and better RV 😊
Very detailed video bro. Please make this kind for SUV as well ❤
Will try
Well... my money goes on the honda city too👍🏻
A little bit correction.... Boot space for Honda City RS Petrol is 519 liter, 410 liter is for Honda City RS eHEV (hibrid)...
tq boss review yg amat menarik.baru blh bt keputusan nk beli keta pada anak😊😊
Proton s70 design so aerodynamic look and smooth
What variant do you get bro
@@zest1989 V spec
how about the almera. turbo preggy preggy and pretty good looks. build up quality been alot better than previous almera
@@lplp7656 almera has the most sportiest drive but the engine is not great. After my test drive i could barely hold the bonnet and open it, too hot. Also this one u will 100% know its 3 cylinders. It vibrates like crazy

alhamdulillah.. tak menyesal beli vios keli variant G dgn interior warna cream yg dah tak keluar lg dah lepas tu.. seat belakang yg blh lipat dgn middle armrest.. single vvti tapi lebih hp dr dual vvti

@@cocobos do you think paying 1/3 just for car monthly is too much?
Nice review sir...
Excellent video. ❤
Thank you!

I'm more incline towards city, but compared to others like s70, the interior look like old car, with less gadget and accessories compared to others. So its hard for me to choose
And the camera quality is worst than myvi 👎
@@ericng7511 the last sentence was what i thought of as i was reading it til the end. Couldnt agree more.😔
Honda city has 519L boot space.
If the Proton shoves a 4 cilinders Engine in and doubles the SunRoof Glass size whit the accent on the back seats
I am totally buying the 2025 Model
My only problem with honda cars r the quality of the car is getting worst. If you watch any cvt gearbox problems video it must be from honda cars. This does not happen only in malaysia. Other countries also facing the same problem with honda's cvt.
From my observation, quality is not the only factor to blame.. seriously, the driving behaviour also remain the factor.
Good review...
Thank you 🙂
All car is good.. but for me 2nd value is no 1.. i has preve and get excident total lost after use 3 year.. insuren just cover haft.. balance i must topup..😢. Settle this.. my choice after this vios/city only .. no more proton.. full stop.
vios/city if total lost, insurance will cover more than half?
Could still happen to any car you own in the future if you still don't understand market value vs agreed value for car insurance.
Proton S70 feel like a conti car, at that price it’s a steal, on the road S70 will outpace the others
the front of City are the handsomest, the S70 is close just because the frontlight are a bit 1 cm shorter + no android apple carplay.
Driving about 5 month of honda city rs petrol, so far so good, upgrade from persona 2017(premium) , honda city petrol boots space 410 litre? 😅
If you're the type who can't handle a little uncertainty, Grab is your golden ticket. Trust me, all these 4 will turn out into Grab car soon.
😅😆
I'm not into almera, but the design is much better tbh, then I'm waiting for 1 year for vios launching, putting the city on hold. But finally goes for city
New vios is a disappointment.
My pick S70
comparing all 4 cars and describing each of them is crazy amount of work. Details are bound to be missed like the city RS petrol actually has the biggest boot size at 519L, beating the s70 (410L is for ehev). Also, low speed follow is only available in ehev as well.
Great video nonetheless, it certainly is not an easy feet to pull.
Thank you and yes it was tedious but worth it. I enjoy sharing opinions but sometimes details can be missed.

Correction. City's bootspace is the biggest if its class at 519 litres.
Please do one for C-segments!
Will try. Thanks.
Proton car seats are generally lower. head room no issue. but the s70 really very sempit backseat la
Out of the hundreds of comments here, only two comments mention this. I am sorry you feel that way.
eh, 410 litre boot space? tu rs hybrid bang. rs petrol 519l.Biggest of them all, even bigger than civic

One of the reasons why the Engine of Honda sounds like that because of IVTEC on Honda.

In my view as an ex-mechanic, CVT Gearboxes are just way too noisy and also comes with a short lifespan, no doubt it is meant to safe fuel, but once pushed, it's like raping or torturing the gearbox and completely not fun to drive at all.
