Great flashlight review! watching from the sunny south in USA. Am a true flashaholic, and wanting to get either the micro or the mini-can’t decide just yet.
A warm welcome from me from the hills of Northern England. Both the mini and micro are cool lights, the mini is a nice 18650 cell light. A very capable thrower for it's size the micro is great but the mini is going to give you that nice throw advantage. Thank you so much for the kind words and I'm a day late but happy fourth of July 👍😎
Another _insanely_ high value review by my mate Richie. You are a treasure for the flashlight community, my friend! I agree with the score the Micro here got. Like most Lumintops I know, it punches above its weight class, definitely has a spot in the big boys' club, and a 9 is an appropriate grade. I detract points for the 14500 exclusivity that reeks of overspecialisation - even though it's paradoxically easier for me to purchase 14500s than NiMH rechargeables of reputable brands (if anyone knows of a Chinese supplier of Eneloops, please let me know) -, but it gets those points right back in its beam profile. The smaller reflector means the spill's diameter is rather tight, with good luminosity, and the spot is not as laser-y; ramp it down to 20-ish lumens and it should be a treat to use indoors, not something you can can say of many throwers. I wish it had Anduril, but Narsil is also solid. And unlike most, Lumintop rates the dustproofing, and it being category 6 (totally sealed, no way dust or particulate is getting in by accident in regular use) brings ease of mind. So aye, 9/10 it is, could be bumped to 9.7 if the eventual v2.0 includes AA functionality. Now, I wonder if we will see a 1x21700 version of the GT. It's not an unreal possibility if you remember that Lumintop and the madlads at BLF were bonkers enough to design a Nano edition running on a 10440... P.S.: Despite the backscatter issue, cool white is the better pick if your region's soil has a reddish hue like where I live. The dust when the weather is dry paints everything in subtle oranges and browns (not very noticeable in daylight unless the pollution+dust haze is VERY thick), so a neutral-warm light makes things look strangely flat. Cool white enhances the greens and blues and unlike most cases, _adds_ color and depth to the view. Also I had a giraffe when you measured the stepdown temperature. It's been freak hot weather for the past 3 weeks here, going between 29º at night to consistently above 36° during the day, peaking at 39.8° last Wednesday. If I were to use the Micro, it would stepdown in five seconds 😂 (But no kidding, the thermal sensation in a nearby town that's always been warmer than mine reached FORTY NINE DEGREES that day. That can outright overheat a healthy adult person to death. Drink your fluids and avoid the sun during heat waves, folks, especially Europeans whose architecture doesn't help.)
Thank you very much, i sometimes ponder after hours of editing if im going on too much in my reviews but thats great to know. :-) Yeah i know what you mean about the 14500 batteries, i have asked about 10 people i know who are quite geeky if they use 14500 batteries, and none of them knew what the hell it was. which is fair enough because as you say its a bit of a specialization. i can image a lot of people buy this and stick in a AA and send it back saying it wont work. I agree with you as well at least a 9.5 from me if they allow AA at a reduced output. id give it a 9.7 if they line up the logo and the button maybe ;-) Yeah im glad i got the cool white, it depends where i am if im up in Fife the soil is kind of red, but more south towards the border its vert dark brown. when i ordered i could have got the neutral but i dont want to always get what i prefer as i might get so set in my ways for reviews. im very pleased with this light, when i saw this was smaller than the mini i initially though "whats the point" But Lumintop proved me wrong, well done to them. WOW those temperatures! im never going to complain again about a slightly hot day here again. ha ha ha yeah the temp step-down would already be ready to cry before it starts. 49 degrees is scary to me, i cant imagine the worry that brings, its easy for me to forget there are some scorching places out there.
I just ordered the nano I seen the reviews on it I'm very impressed for a keychain light I wish the one you're reviewing had a carry clip and USB charging... my EDC is the thrunite TT20 .... I have many flashlights but this is my favorite.
Yeah the nano looks interesting. But sure how long that battery will last on turbo. Although that's part of the fun of having such a tiny bit capable light.
Enjoyed this review especially for a 14500 light. I'd like to do a comparison between the Lumintop and my Kronos X5. Would you prefer to have the GT micro in the Neutral White tint? Keep up the great work Richy!
Yes I would prefer the neutral but I thought I better test it in cool white, there is no point in me getting stuck on just testing what I prefer so I tested the cool white, and it was great. I must say lumintop always make a great quality light.
How do you quantify unreliability?? Very unreliable- completely unreliable or just the word 'unreliable'- that probably covers it - piece of crap works too.
Ha ha ha ha that gave me a big chuckle this morning 😆. Yes I should actually start a trail trek scale from 'rock solid' at the very top down to 'utter bollox' and then 'fubar' lol 😆😆😆
Thanks so much for such a compressive review. Especially the bit that you did explaining the U. I. It helped me a lot.
Glad it was helpful! i love hearing that a review is useful. If you have any more questions im here to help. Have a great day.

I’m looking forward to a 26650 size one. Skip past the 21. Or even. A C or D cell
That would be cool, I wonder what led they will use, I just saw astrolux are doing a ft03 with a sbt90.2 in it with a very high output.

Eh, 26650 batteries are naff. Not nearly the polish and optimisation of 18650 or 21700.

Great video👌 Thank you!
Thank you very much I enjoyed testing this light. Have a great day.
The custom Skylumen version of this light is a trully phenomenal piece of machinery, with over 120,000 candela.
Oh yes they have since very nice lights over there. I wish I could afford them all. 😁👍

Спасибо за обзор!!!!! Очень интересно было узнать Ваше мнение!
Добро пожаловать. Мне понравилось тестировать этот фонарик.
Скажите пожалуйста какой диод на вашем фонаре холодный или нейтральный
There's an osram version that doubles the range.
Interesting, I'm impressed testing the osram p8 in the nitecore tip SE and the p9 in the Wuben C3. It's nice to see non Cree LED enter the arena
