Ilia is definitely going for a 7-quad program. He was clearly attempting both the 4Flip and 4Loop in the same program, and he upgraded his last pass to accommodate the 4Sal.
He certainly did more than others in terms of jumping technics. But the program isn't very exiting due to the music selection. There's not enough continuous flow in the interpretations of music and this one note type of music doesn't allow him to naturally show off his performing skills. Still it's the first competition of the year and he won so that was a good outing.
WOW, this gave me CHILLS. What an exciting program!! His jumps are gorgeous, but it's his artistry that really impressed me. Many male skaters struggle to attain real fluidity, and sometimes look like their arms are wooden poles. Ilias arms are extremely expressive. And he looks like he walks with skates instead of shoes- all his movements are natural, fluid, and passionate. I love that he brings a youthful exhuberance to his performance. He chose very emotive music, and he was really able to skate with the passion to match it. I have no doubt that he has gotten himself great artistic coaches, and is really channeling his natural flair into fantastic skills. What a trajectory!
The LP wasn't gold-worthy, but he won this competition in the SP because he had two quads to Aymoz's one quad. Otherwise, Ilia would have lost. He needs to get his act together. Because the judges are still hammering Ilia in PCS he needs to hit ALL the jumps. This kind of performance won't beat Kagiyama later in the season. I hope Ilia gets much better. This performance was beneath him.
i would prefer than ilia as world champion be a leader in all things, such as attention to posture, physical commitment to choreography, etc. he is still very young.
Совершенно согласна с Вами. Трудно будет в этом сезоне выигрывать у Кевина в произвольной программе. Всем одиночникам придётся потрудиться. Я обожаю Илью, но в этом сезоне у Кевина произвольная программа просто божественная.

Конечно молодец. Внимание он привлекает. Повышает интерес публики к фигурному катанию. Но нет цельности программы, состоит как- будто из разных кусков, нет связки между элементами и компонентами, не работают кисти рук, теряется выразительность. И да, есть повод для дискуссии об ограничении квадов в одной программе. Например - не более 5. Это даст возможность больше уделять внимания хореографии, выразительности, эстетики катания. ИМХО.

バックフリップは絶対にやめるべき‼️彼は手か何処を切って血を流していた…フィギュアスケートとは、本来そういう競技ではないと私は思います…採点方もまた改正されて、１つの４回転だけで、出来映え点を入れると20点を超えてしまう…これでは４回転を飛べない選手が勝つ事は殆んど無理な状態…フィギュアスケートは、ジャンプ大会ではない‼️
こんな事ばかりしているから、本当にフィギュアスケートが好きな人は、幻滅して、離れて行くばかり…サーカスではないのだから、本当に見ている人を心から魅力した選手が勝てる様になるべきだと思います‼️
