England and France are pretty good in the area of Nobel prizes. If Germany leads it's a small lead dependent on cooperation. Also Germany is particularly vulnerable right now according to Peter Zeihan.
I find it funny that he didn't even talk about what japan would have accomplished in WW2 if the US didn't retaliate so ill explain it for you, Japan would have conquered China and all of the islands in southeast Asia and then moved to help Germany conquer the Soviet Union with the USSR having to fight much like Germany did at the end in a 2 front war that they stood no chance of winning. Plus with rapid technological advances from Germany the Nazi's may have even created the first nuclear bombs and dropped them on the UK negating the need to invade and used it as a show of power to convince the Soviet Union to surrender. Thus we would have a German Europe and a Japanese Asia.
The war in China had already come to a standstill. And Japan would have gotten its ass kicked by the USSR if they tried to invade from the East. In the years leading up to the war the Soviets had already beaten the Japanese in the Battle of Khalkin Gol. Also, it was Norwegian resistance fighters who made sure that Germany didn't create the first atom bombs. See: Operation Gunnerside. You're giving the USA way more credit than it actually deserves.
Ah, but you forgot one hugely important fact... If the US didn’t exist, then Japan wouldn’t have become a global power even to begin with. When the US threatened Japan to open up its ports to the world back in the 1850’s it basically caused Japan to modernize itself, including it’s military, so that it wouldn’t be bullied like that ever again. So ironically, the rise of Japan as a global power was all because of the US. But if the US never existed, then...
You seriously think Japan could conquer all of China and still have enough troops left over to attack the Soviets through Siberia? Never mind "don't invade Russia in winter"; how about "don't climb to the summits of Tibet and try to conquer them in the winter". I also seriously doubt that Germany would have been able to build the bomb alone, considering that they would have murdered all of the Jews, including Albert Einstein, that made all the scientific discoveries to build the bomb in the first place. You fundamentally misunderstand the destructive nature of Nazism if you can't see that Hitler's objective in killing all of the Jews was to make Europe stupider. In his view, a successful extermination would "resolve" the imaginary problem of "cunning Jews" covertly usurping him. So many of Germany's technological advances before the war were made by Jewish scientists, and the Manhattan Project was staffed by a lot of Jews other than Einstein. You underestimate the degradation of Europe caused by Nazism and overestimate the invincibility of Japan.
Me hearing this now made me realize how watered down our own history is here in America. I swear the Cold War was only ever mentioned when referring to the space race. I for one have almost never heard of the pros, American history for me was always battered with cons
Our education system is a farce, being an instrument of the government. The whole of American achievement was in spite of our broken system, which itself is merely less broken than most, but not all.
All these things are explained in most American schools. If you want to learn it well take AP courses and actually throughly study everything in your highschool history classes. Or you may be forced to take even more detailed history and government courses in university, even if you aren't majoring in history. In all these courses you should learn and analyze everything about the Cold War, its events and its effects, and afterwards you'll see the good and the bad that the US did through those times.
I thought I knew a good bit about WWII, but I have never heard that FDR required the UK and other European countries to pull out of their colonies. That's something to be very proud of. I wish more Americans knew this. It could quell some of the "racism is an American invention" crap but I really don't think people who believe that will be influenced by any pesky facts.
The lefty scum will never get over claiming the US is the creator of racism, even though they were the ones that held slaves. Very pathetic on their part, but that is nothing new.
@Margaret Bush tbh the majority of our sciences and technological advances came from Nazi Germany scientists. In WWII there was an operation called "Operation Paperclip" where the US government hired Nazis to develop missiles, nukes and NASA hired the Nazis as well. Congress tried to get the Department of Defense to tell the truth however they declined and wouldn't say anything about hiring these war criminals which is who they were essentially but were granted amnesty. Most people never hear about this but it's true.
I am grateful to your positive reaction to the WWII help the US gave and the Marshall Plan. I get very angry when Europeans slam us when we did all of this for them. My parents were part of the continuation of the plan as my dad was in the US Army in France and Germany in 1957-1960. I was 3 months old when we moved there. He ended up being part of the formation of the large training center in Grafenwoehr Germany. Our blood, sweat, tears, money, and energy were poured on the European soil and by your reaction you didn't even know. I always think people would know this but there are newer generations that know nothing about this. I am glad that you are finding out. A wonderful book about the manufacturing end of the US war effort is "Freedom's Forge" by Arthur Herman. It is about US business and its gargantuan efforts to create all the planes, tanks, vehicles, etc for the war.

@@michlo3393 I actually agree with you. America has no business in any of the world's conflicts. Before the attack on Pearl Harbor America was a "hands off" nation. Since then America is like a blind giant stumbling from one war into another. Most of the budget is spent on the military. This is difficult to justify since it's been about 8 decades since congress declared war. I can agree with you that this is a possible outcome, but it would depend on what resources Japan would have at the time for a Korean take-over since their attention may have focused elsewhere. What-if history scenarios are fun b/c there are so many factors and possibilities.
It does when you realize this only erodes American soft power, and makes us weaker. They obviously should. But you don't threaten to withdraw from alliances and agreements that make the world safer (and in some cases, actually do it). Trump was an isolationist, and that's simply not an option for a world power in the modern era.
@@willsofer3679 Indeed. Keeping up alliances and treaties, and even relatively amicable terms with those states that we disagree with really reduces the scale of conflicts and helps to promote a more peaceful world. Global interdependence is great for peace as well.

The US and UK helped the Russian White Army fight the Soviets after the Russian revolution. It was a matter of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." It was in the US' interests to help the Soviets fight Nazi Germany. Less of our blood would be needed to defeat the Axis. The Soviet Union had spies in the Manhattan Project. That's how they developed nuclear weapons so rapidly after WW II.

Nice reaction Lav Luka, I've been enjoying your reactions to American stuff, for lack of a better word. One thing that caught my attention to this reaction, when the narrator mentions the Marshall Plan being paid by American tax payers, you seemed quite surprised at this. I don't understand why, surely you realize National Governments don't have their own money, (unless they print it),,...and that the money that the governments DO have, is money taken from it's citizens in the form of taxes! So, everything America does,... is paid for by American citizens.
The video literally is showing the US supplying other countries during WWII luka: What war did the US supply us??? I think it was WWI. My favorite quote
Potatoes are used to make vodka for a couple reasons. Potato skins contain yeast. This yeast, when mixed with sugars it ferments very easily. Potatoes contain a lot of sugars, which are broken out of suspension when mashed and mixed with water. After a couple weeks of fermentation, this combination can produce a potato wine of around 10-12% alcohol by volume. From there, it is then distilled into vodka.
I genuinely love your reaction to the things that have gone on. I’m from the U.S but it is honestly strange to see how history actually affects that of their countries

I wouldn’t say the US and Russia were ‘allies’ during WWII, I mean I guess technically, but it was more of a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” type thing
I believe that the vast majority of supplies and war aid to the UK was non-repayable assistance under Lend Lease, I think, or purchasable at a fraction of cost. At least that’s what I recall from school.
My dad was on those Navy supply convoys to the UK and the USSR during WW2. Thousands and thousands of Americans died on those supply convoys. My dad was lucky to survive.
The United States paid a ton of money to rebuild most of Europe's big cities! England 🇬🇧 Germany 🇩🇪 France 🇫🇷 just to name a few. UNITED STATES DON'T GET RICH your dead wrong mate. Like ur video's but please research more facts. Cross the pond sometime
The United States also played a very big part and rebuilding Germany. What people forget is during the war a lot of people in America were doing without so that we could provide more all around the world. Everything was rationed and every manufacture turned into a military supplier. Women ran all of the trains and learned to weld as well as rivet the airplanes. Many women pilots learn to transport as much as they could Stateside and they even went over to Europe to parachute down and spy
In re: the Marshall Plan, one of the important lessons from WWI was the criticality of winning the peace after winning the war. We learned that lesson well and made sure that we won the peace after defeating Germany and Japan in WWII. We have since forgotten that lesson and have failed to win the peace in Afghanistan and Iraq after winning the wars there.

In addition to the Lend-Lease program, the U.S. helped during WWII to set up an organization called the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, beginning in 1943. This organization had donations from more than 50 countries and provided more than $3.8 billion in aid to displaced people and communities in areas liberated by the Allies. The U.S. contributed more than half of the total amount of aid money, though. But the broad base of donors was designed to set the framework of cooperation that the United Nations itself would employ once it was formed after the war.
My Grandpa told his story of fighting in the battle of the bulge. He was a US machine gunner, 2 of the guys in his group deserted meaning he and the other guy had to carry all of the supplies. He had enemies firing rounds causing the earth behind him to break behind him because of the guns being fired towards him. Found a group of Germans willing to surrender but as night was falling was strongly considering killing all of them cause he had no idea what they might do during the night. Luckily a US group showed up before night hit allowing the POW's to be taken by someone else and ended up getting trench foot which allowed him to be the one of the most annoying people for the nurses because he was technically sick but not actually sick.
I constantly hear that the Soviet Union could have beaten Germany without American aid. One third to half of all Soviet explosives (bullets, cannon shells, bombs, rockets) came from the US. We also provided 75% of all of the Soviet's trucks.
They wouldn't have had the time or materials to create and manufacture sufficient, quality equipment to the point they're production reached 2/3 of total equipment. They were getting run over and over and over.
We gave Europe the money needed to rebuild, but the materials needed came from U.S. producers which resulted in creating much wealth in the U.S. so it was a win win situation.
With regard to WWI, the U.S. mounted a major civilian relief effort beginning at the end of the war in Belgium and northern France. That was followed in 1919 by U.S. creation of the American Relief Administration, which spent about $3 billion in today's dollars to provide roughly 4 million tons of relief supplies in 23 European countries, including Russia. The ARA continued its work through 1923. The effort was led by Herbert Hoover, who later went on to be elected U.S. president in 1928.

No one would be complaining about this. The United States is the top donor country on the Developmental Assistance Committee (DAC), contributing almost $35 billion to foreign aid in 2017. This donation amounted to 0.18% of the country's Gross National Income (GNI), far below the official development assistance target of 0.70% GNI. Had I managed my money I would have a nice retirement income. My husband and I managed to invest a modest amount of money, and were it not for that income, I would have a difficult time making ends meet. Our taxes go to countries around the world to prop them up. They give Israel millions each year, and then, give millions to Palestinians who have vowed to push Israel into the sea. Israel uses the money to create infrastructure and they produce beautiful fruit and vegetables in the desert. Israel is on the cutting edge for great strides in the medical and technology fields. Thousands upon thousands of tourists go to Israel each year and Israel provides guests with modern facilities. The Palestinian’s do very little toward infrastructure. They use the money in ways that could destroy Israel. One can clearly differentiate the Israelis from Palestinian. The Gaza Strip could be one of the most lucrative spots in the area. They could draw thousands of visitors annually. Tell Aviiv built a beautiful city that draws people from around the world. How does the Palestinian government at Gaza use America dollars-they build bombs to fire on Israel. Their people would have better jobs and incomes. Plus with rapid technological advances from Germany the Nazi's may have even created the first nuclear bombs and dropped them on the UK negating the need to invade and used it as a show of power to convince the Soviet Union to surrender. Thus we would have a German Europe and a Japanese Asia.
Wasn't the war in China at a standstill even before Japan bombed Pearl Harbor?
@@storiesthroughnumbers4111 yes that’s why they invaded the Dutch East Indies they needed resources to continue the war.
Cold War? You mean like that cod game?
I thought the Cold War was an actual war until I was in astronomy🤦♀️
There’s a deliberate effort to destroy our history in the US and paint it all bad.
Don’t forget, we invented a lot of stuff that people around the world are using now
People don’t realize that tbh
Russia could not defeat Germany and Japan. Not only did the US actively participate in the war, it gave food and equipment to Russia.
And supplied the UK too
@Margaret Bush tbh the majority of our sciences and technological advances came from Nazi Germany scientists.
Sees thumb nail: “Where’s its leg?” ... I just associated Florida as being America‘s leg!😆
You’re welcome Europe. I’m probably still paying for the Marshall plan.

And yet America is still the "most evil warmongering nation ever" lol
@@michlo3393 Exactly it’s so dumb. If China ever becomes the next super power I wouldn’t mind. Since China will have to deal with all that bs. And America can finally work on itself.
@@RyanNerd and how much value do you think US corporations are extracting from the third world on a yearly basis?
Western Foreign aid is peanuts compared to this.

The United States paid a ton of money to rebuild most of Europe's big cities! England 🇬🇧 Germany 🇩🇪 France 🇫🇷 just to name a few. UNITED STATES DON'T GET RICH your dead wrong mate.
Damn. this made me feel good
Ikr something bad happens in the US everyone else in the world: OH NO AMERICA IS FALLING and Also thank god I don’t live in America.
And this is why I say the USA saved the world in ww2 with supplies and then man power
Makes you wonder...maybe we're not so bad?
