The thing with the BILL ATGM is that it should roll it's damage against the top armor of target vehicles as that was it's main IRL feature, a feature that was then passed on to the now famous NLAW. The Bkan1 also seems very nerfed from it's IRL capabilities, it essentially was designed to be an MLRS in tube artillery form, sacrificing range for an honestly insane rate of fire from a 14rnd clip-fed bustle suspended magasine, reloading crane and autoloader assembly that doubled up as a counterweight to the gun in an oscilating cradle. Each battery of Bkan1s had their own set of dedicated ammo trucks, delivering the ammo to temporary refuel and rearm stations between the firing positions. It took the *conscripts* of a Bkan1 and ammo truck crews around *two minutes* to replace the Bkan1s 14rnd ammo clip in the magasine. And the Bkan1 could empty it's mag in a single *forty five second staccato* and a battery consisted of six Bkan1s... As in: 6×14 155mm airburst HE shells in a single, 45second long barrage at a max range of 25km.
As a Swede im building the Swedish forces and it feels great. I currently play Soviet and basically own everthing so I can introduce people perfectly by putting up my two armies! :)
The IKV91 - might need some explanation. Sweden has a lot of swamps and in the winter a lot of thick snow. The IKV91 is so light that it can traverse swamps easily and ride on high speed on top of snow. No tank can ride on top of snow? Not that i know of. So thats the reason for the very light armour and low-pressure gun. I hope you understand what i ment of riding on top of snow. It sinks down very little.
@@rcgunner7086 In resin or plastic, its a nice tank to look at, I would have never wanted to be loader in it tho, his floor wasn't attached to the turret 😄
Interesting. I think I’ll build 80s Finnish Defense Forces (FDF) alongside my currently wip 2020s FDF (out of West Germans, with Leo 2s, and 3D printed CV9030s using Marder stats, and other similar customs what Finns currently have) 😂😅
Fins are probably the biggest winner with this book. Their infantry companies get to bring, for the first time, infantry mortar teams. People are saying the Eryx (I think its pronounce "ear-icks") is gonna be the best thing on the block but its a guided weapon meaning 0 moving rate of fire and "cannot be used in assault". So pin it down and run it over. You know what can? The Epilas. The Epilas is only at 21 but its got a moving rof of 1 so you cant pin it down to negate it. Sure you only get one in a bmp platoon but thats because all your transports get missiles (though you have to pay for them). They do get 2 more for their anti tank support unit (3 AT18 bazookas with 2 epilas riding in bmp 1s...I'll buy that for a dollar). 3 T72s per platoon is pretty bad though. At least Iran gets chieftains for cheap at 3 units per platoon. Swedish infantry are...interesting. You can upgrade their smaller AT weapons to 17. LAW/RPG 18s at AT 17 sounds pretty dope. Their tank companies look fantastic too. 4 Platoons of 3 vehicles +3 platoons of infantry. Its funny how their S tank and Infantry conflict with themselves, almost schizophrenically. S tanks want to hide in the woods and not move while the infantry want to be aggressive, except that there is not enough teams in the infantry to do that. Danes are dumb. They are bad Canadians. Only thing going for them is they get to fight their opponent with SUVs. The Centurion is in plastic and will have all the stuff to make each version. I hate that the Centurion is in plastic before the m48 though. There were over TEN THOUSAND M48s made, yet the centurion gets a plastic kit first? Competitively you'll see Finnish BTR or BMP companies with light to no tank support. You'll see the Norweigans the most because AT24 on the eryx is going to trick people into thinking its good until they have to move their infantry (or get pinned). Danes will see the least amount of play because why play them when you can just play canada?
agree with your eryx assessment. The firepower 5+ is gonna suck when you want to actually kill smth. Finnish infantry i heard on another channel really sucked which rly confuses me now that the stats are out on the formation maker, but i believed it at the time.
@@kmriifps On tabletop got an interview with one of the devs of Team Yankee and nearly spoiled the whole book with points (except the bmp company), so when they went back and made lists saying that the finnish infantry were bad and their tanks were good all I could think was "Are...are you guys mentally disabled?"
Hurting my soul with the Danish comments. Going to be my army from this book. Just not sure how I’m going to run them yet. Definitely a core of Leo1s and will probably lean into Night Fighting.
@@markfrancis8978 I'm not trying to be mean. Its just the truth. CAF gets up to 4 leo 1s vs 3 and all CAF has a skill of 3+ vs danes 4+. Danish infantry is 3 rifle teams and 3 carl gustavs vs that plus a mg team and mortar team. But hey, you get TOW mounted SUVs which is at least pretty cool. Also the centurions do technically have better armor then the Leo 1 (12 vs 9) but the centurion has a moving RoF 1 and doesn't have the ERA from sweden.
@@durnaxe8708 I get what you’re saying and it’s a real shame. They also don’t get TOW SUVs, they’re only armed with LAWs. I think you have to lean into the TI on the Danish Leo’s I guess. The centurions aren’t good due to reasons you stated.
The West Germans didn't use Marksman - the Gepard was their own design. There's a good 'Chieftain's Hatch' video on the S-103. It was powered by a combo of a diesel and gas turbine, it had a forward river/gunner, commander and rear gunner/radio operator. It's gun was a Swedish gun, which was higher velocity than the L7 gun on the Centurion and other NATO tanks, hence the extra AP. Autoloader is is +1 to hit anything under the arty template. In other words, if you normally need a 3+ to hit, you'd then need a 2+ to hit. It's great, the French + Iraqi AMX AUF howitzers have it as well. Eryx = Eric's - I could ask my brother in law to make sure, as he's Norwegian
Correction: The three crew positions in the Strv 103 was TC, Driver/gunner, Rear driver/radio operator. The TC and the Driver/gunner had almost identical control yokes with the TCs control yoke adding an override switch. The Rear driver/radio operator had only a very basic driving yoke, speed controls and Fwd/Rev. drive toggle.
Interested why you say that. I’ve been thinking about what second Team Yankee army to get. Have Iraqis. Was wondering about Israelis and picked up a US starter. But have been playing with idea of Finns and some Swedish S tanks.

If the sprue allows it, the Centurions could be also great for FoW 'Nam.
I was thinking the same thing.

I think im going to go Finnish and will think about winter painting scheme. We'll see, book is en route as I type.
The Leopard I ONLY has a front armor of 9. As a Flames of War player I feel a little offended. That's the front armor of a TIGER!!! LOL!!!
Not to mention that it also fires 2 shots on the move, with no range penalty, hitting with an AT of 19 lol
Well I mean, a Late War Panther is FA 10, so it is a downgrade. Speedy Dash though

Nice podcast format. In regards to the Sgt York...how long into a war with tiny drones in it does the US introduce the Sgt York?
At a guess there were more Sgt Yorks about in 1985 than drones . 😉

WW3! :)
