She is speaking TOO slowly, like a stroke victim. The normal speed is at x1.25 in settings. Try it. You don't have to drag your words out to sound calm and soothing.

Very good, intelligent and well thought advice, not limited to american or european criteria nor mere temporary fashions that would smack of nouveau riche and probably would be dated in no time.
If one collects art, persian rugs, or designer furniture, those pieces should be given priority and must be listened to, as they will hang or place themselves where they can be better appreciated, complementing each other. On a generous coffee table, a small blooming plant may lend it humble warmth among other more elegant or expensive pieces…

Beautiful visuals as well as practical advice, as always. However many small homes are in those new built condos, complete with metal doors, windows and standard height (I have one myself). I wonder whether picture moulding will work there? I’d love to see a video on how the aesthetic of this channel can apply to condos. I think there is a real gap in the market for condo design in European setting.

    • @kellyhopterinteriors
      @kellyhopterinteriors  8 месяцев назад +5

It absolutely can. In fact the foyer and nook with an antique table I showed in the video are from a condo. Typical condo windows are doors are nondescript and will almost recede visually when you apply a more traditional, elegant aesthetic to the walls. Here's another example of how molding/panelling (and a fabulous mural!) can work beautifully in a condo: instagram.com/p/Ck4CUQxJI6T/?img_index=1

My living room is small but the ceiling is high - into to V-shaped ceiling.
Ive tried so many ways of "lowering" ceiling.
The high ceiling definitely gives the illusion of space - decorating it on a budget is a nightmare.
    I'd welcome any suggestions.

The verbal information is relevant but the visual examples clash.
It is obvious that the rooms are large.
For example low ceilings will not have chandeliers.
The den is large - built in with floor to ceiling 6 shelves per column.
Where you film from is not a small space so refrain from using it as a visual representation.
As mentioned, your verbal presentation is solid but incongruent with the selection of visual examples.

Maybe you should also consider “elevating” your looks. You lack any efforts in that department

  • @giennefarcais6834

Why does every post, reel, article, have to say "elevate" all of a sudden? Y'all sure jumped on that bandwagon. For creative people, you would think there would be some variety. But nope, it's elevate this, elevate that. And then the skinny faux olive tree stuck in a too-small pot in a corner - as if there is a decorators' law that you have to have one.

I collect flowers from the garden & put them in a vase in the main, social room.
Other rooms that aren't used as often, I store dried flowers in a garbage bag in a cupboard so that they don't get full of dust.
Sometimes I'll use a gentle fragrance oil & let it soak in so that they become potpourri.
Built-ins with very few shelves are great for storage (because no one wants to waste so much time moving & dusting a lot of knick knacks).
