Synopsis:
After winning the infamous Kumite, Frank Dux was never seen in public again. Years later, a man dubiously claimed to be the great and mysterious martial arts legend. Without any accounts from those who were really there, these stories have remained unchallenged, until now. A viral video has exposed the imposter and the search for the real Frank Dux is on. As former opponents come forward, the real Dux is called to come forward and defend the honour of his mentor and teacher Senzo Tanaka.

My youth. I still remember my mom letting me rent this VHS as a 10 year old kid. Back when Albertsons had a video rental section. I watched the movie so many times it really has become ingrained in me. Classic for sure.

@@christopherhuber2870 truth...I'm old enough to remember UFC in its infant days and the very first thing that came to mind was Bloodsport. Of course nowhere near exciting as the movie, but the mixing of different styles was definitely more pronounced than it is now where everything kind of blends in.
This got me hyped for something that isn't even real.

Even though the entire Frank Dux/Bloodsport mythos has been thoroughly debunked, this made my blood stir in the same way that the original trailer did 👌🏼
Yeah the real Frank Dux is an asshole. But the whole Bloodsport story in itself is still great. I would definitely watch a sequel. I dont care how fake the story is

It's absolutely crazy how perfect that was. Bloodsport would be one of those movies that would be a epic sequel. If I'm not mistaken they made other Bloodsport movies just not one with the Duke story in it. Whoever put this trailer together did a phenomenal job. Let's hope Jean Claude saw it and takes note because all movies today kind of suck compared to the classics
Nah, you have to be realistic they've made sequels to Kickboxer and Universal soldier etc. and they turned out to be absolute garbage. There is no reason why Bloodsport wouldn't turn out the same way at this point.

The movie that everybody wants. This is what I love about fan made trailers, it usually capture the original spirit of the movie and the characters in a setting 30 years later. Done with love, care and thought behind where the story should go, the question, what would the fans want is answered in a way that only a true fan would understand. Studio trailers on the other hand are usually shock and awe...to make money.
They said "You shouldn't have made this trailer! you are not a real film studio!" but my Shidoshi once told me to use any tactic that works, never to commit yourself to one style, to keep an open mind. Some might say why? My reply to them would be "to honor you, shidoshi". 😄
God save the fans! Because they can make secuels with love!

The soundtrack to the original Bloodsport and Kickboxer helped me become a champion in my home state of Florida. I used to listen to it while I was training it helped me stay relaxed during the grueling nearly 1 hour affair. Four different opponents and three three-minute rounds each! And the training music from both the movies was playing in my head like in a loop the entire time. Fun times.

On a serious note... I think if Jean Claude did ever make some form of sequel and if filmed correctly by the right director it could be the best come back movie ever which would be a massive boost for his career....

There was a time where I could turn around laying down and say everything and even make the fighting sounds without looking at it, THAT'S HOW MANY TIMES I WATCHED BLOODSPORT. Movie is just AWESOME.

The storyline looks pretty good and people will watch it because that first Bloodsport(1988)was a masterpiece.
After watching this trailer, I kept thinking about the original bloodsport, that inspired me to take Martial arts when I was 13. And now being 34 years old and been out of martial arts for 8 years, Jean claude van damme has reawaken my need to get back into it and continue learning and fighting. Like he said in this trailer I cannot lose the fight, I'm a champion, I will not lose this fight. That right there inspired me to continue. Because I'm a warrior and warriors don't back down nor quit, they keep fighting. Van damme will always be respected for what he inspired me to do, continue Martial arts.

You know, Mark, you and me, we went the same way. This path began after watching this film. Personally, I am very grateful to Jean-Claude for this film. Thanks to this film, I became a Sinologist and Orientalist. Of course, I have no accomplishments in the martial arts, but I was a good soldier in the army. Passion for the East has become my profession.
This is fake. Most of the clips are from Van Dammes movie The Bodyguard, an interview clip from Bolo Yueng, Bloodsport the original movie and I sewn a clip of JCVDs Jean Claude Van Johnson series in there. Jcvd even said on his official FB acct that he has no new movie coming out at the moment and that some fraud director is using his name and clips illegally trying to say he is involved with Van Damme in making a new movie which is in fact not true.
This trailer is basically better than any Hollywood "pitch" - maybe that'll be the future of pitches? Have a talented person, like this, who understands the material, make a "what if" trailer? Great job

I was a teenager when I saw Bloodsport in the movie theaters. This movie is one of the few that has gotten better with time. Even the soundtrack is legendary. When I saw this trailer I thought "this is a brilliant plot for the sequel as the real Frank Dux has been accused of being a fraud." I wish this movie is made soon.
