Dear Master, I have gotten better at teaching myself in the right direction and I am able to help my students better just because you decided to do this to millions of us who can not afford music education at esteemed institutions. Your efforts are immensely appreciated.
i found in guitar wisdow the place that's make me realize i was on the good way of learning since i began by myself... good ;) understanding intervals, fretboard, by learning triads, paying attention to noises, and so many others details are what i found in guitar wisdow. Many other online teachers gave me pretty good advices, but these lessons are number one for me. Thank you Tomo, i still enjoy my journey as never before.
I wish I had seen this lesson years ago, when I first started playing pop songs by myself! This harmony lesson is an essential step to develop music ear...And you made it fun, as always!
Thank you Master😊🙏🏽 little did I know that the Guitar world is like an ocean, there's so much to discover as you keep diving in, by default I picked it up and anything I learn each day feels like it isn't enough! Some of it just goes over my head😄
I started playing guitar by ear only in 1983 after taking 6 years of piano lessons. About a year ago I decided to start working on triads, chord tones, major pentatonics over chord progressions and learning the notes on the fretboard. About two months ago I started playing dramatically different. It just happened and I feel like I can play anything. No more noodling with scales and licks.
So full of knowledge! That riff in key of G, was really nice. A practice lesson for us beginners, to help build theory and chords, techniques, scales...OMG so much! Thanks!
Tomo, you an amazing instructor. You provide a very unique and thoughtful approach to this material. You have provided me with a very important lesson at the perfect time. I will be thinking about this lesson for years, and probably always.
I played the guitar for a year and I neglected scales and chords. After seeing tomo your playing and Paul Davids, I found out that the knowledge of guitar is so diverse and there is so much to learn. Thank you tomo
I'm beginning my second month of Guitar Wisdom and learned so much. Triads are the focus and I will admit, I'm a slow learner! I understand and can play all positions but I have to think so speed suffers. Thank you Tomo for passing on your great knowledge!

If you do learn music theory slowly... and learn simple one first, then it's okay. The most import part is learn with the sound & interval recognition. Only the words... not enough!! Thank you so much!
Thanks for another great lesson Mr. Fujita. Your passion for playing and teaching is really inspiring. I’m becoming a much better guitar player thanks to you. Learning to take it slow and be easy on myself has been a very valuable lesson for me. Love your videos and watching you play always inspires to want to learn more. I can’t thank you enough for what your doing to help guitar players like myself. I really appreciate you sir. Take care
Wow, Tomo! That's pure wisdom, and lovely to watch. You're a great teacher! I'll for sure look into your guitar wisdom to absorb more of this great content. Please keep it up and stay happy!
I grew up playing trumpet and actually wanted to attend Berklee as a trumpet player but I learned music theory more related to playing wind instruments single note instruments. Learning key signatures and playing the correlating notes in that scale of the key. Also learning the notes in the changes for jazz improv but never took the time to learn the actual relation of the chord changes in the song. Took music theory in high school learning to write 4 part harmonies ect. but it's not my forte. Since picking up guitar it has exposed me to a whole different realm of applying music theory. I'm trying to rely less on my ear/feel and get a better understanding how to apply theory to my guitar playing. I understand major minor diminished and augmented chords and 1 5 4 basic progressions, major and minor pentatonic scales but it's still a bit confusing to me but then again I could be over thinking it. Thanks Tomo, nice shirt btw.
Wow ! You fully explained Aug dim sus in less than 2 minutes! Can,t imagine what weeks and months of your teaching would do. Thank you . Canadian Maple
The way you describe the sound of chords is exactly how I see it/hear it. IV is very up lifting. iii is sad and wandering in distance. V is sparkly and whenever i hear V chord my mind automatically hears it as dominant 7th chord.

Another great lesson Tomo. I like to use the Guitar Wisdom lessons when I am at home and can watch with my guitar in my lap. I work outside all day, so I like to play your RUclips videos and put the phone in my shirt pocket to listen. It’s extra ear training for me to only hear you talking about chords and theory and playing, but I can’t see the screen and what you are playing.

I was good friends with the 1st chair trumpet player, and he was able to get me in when they had no guitarist. Fun times.
Thank you for a very interesting lesson! I have watched several and you are amazing. There are so many things to work on the guitar that sometimes it feels overwhelming. I have learned the major and minor scales, the intervalls and the major/minor triads. I have also worked some solos to improve phrasing and working bends, vibratos. And of course I have learned a few entire songs for fun. But when improvising I always need to think about what I do and then it is often too late, and I leave out a lot of stuff I wish I could use. What is the most rewarding if I only have one hour a day for practise? Learning songs? Playing triads over songs/backing tracks? Exploring freely the guitar?
I would go into student debt to hang out with you all the time man.lol you seem like such a genuinely nice dude. It comes through in your playing. Absolutely it does. Thats awesome! Keep it up man, we enjoy it very much. I always wanted to take lessons from Mr. Miyagi. 😆

Tomo have you played a G&L ASAT Special? If not, I think they might be right up your alley! The "Tribute" series is comparable to Fender's "Player" series, whereas the American-Made G&L lines tend to be on the upper end of the spectrum. I'd love to see you play a "G&L ASAT Deluxe Special" in one of your videos. Thanks again for your time!
Thank you Tomo, really think I understand. I've watched hundreds of your videos, and you always improve my mood. Not that I was in a bad mood, just laughter when you apologize for getting sidetracked. Feel free, it's entertaining and fun when you go off like that! You chose C because there aren't any sharps/flats and that was your wisdom I'm sure. So it's 1 mjr , 2mjr, 3mnr ,4mjr, 5 mjr , 6mnr , and 7 sus technically but can be major right? Triads I thought were 3 strings only but you played triads using 6 strings. So it's 3 notes! A triad can have 6 strings but because of the notes of say E minor have E on the 1st and 6th those count as one of three notes! I think that's right... right? I've been playing since 15, but I had a long time where I couldn't play for different reasons. Too long! So I'm 49 and just bought a Fender Squier Affinity SSS and a Fender Mustang LT25 modeling amp (fit my price range, pretty good guitar the Affinity I think) and the amp has preset effects for practicing with out having to buy peddles. Once I'm less rusty and ready to advance to the next level I'm going to subscribe to "MGW" because I know I'll advance more quickly with your teaching methods. Plus I just think you're a genuinely good human being! Thanks for always being entertaining and always sharing your knowledge with us...I always feel better after watching your videos. Drink your coffee and maybe you'll make a video on playing at 200 BPM!!! 😂 ✌️🎸🎶🙏 P.S. I really hope you feel better from your allergies, thanks for making the video anyway. I'm having coffee for no particular reason 😂 okay... now next Sammi in her 3rd lesson. I'm looking forward to that one. She's gonna' be great. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!!
Thank you for the nice video, tomo! :) could you analyse the lovely chordprogression? There is so much non diatonic stuff going on. Like tritone substitution or secondary dominat chords. Do I need to know all this? Have a great day!
Hello Tomo, greetings from Malaysia. I was wondering what do you teach in ur guitar wisdom ? Is the theory more explained cause sometimes I don't understand the terms that u say. Aside from theories, what other stuff do you teach ?
Thank you so much! I teach everything I know! You can look up and browse the site! Music Theory, Theory II (Applied theory), Beginner series, Sight-reading, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Neo Soul styles... demo performances... there are so many videos!
Another great video! I'm reviewing my music theory = perfect timing! I am still interested in your Pink Squier if you would like to sell it, please let me know?
Mr Tomo, is there any benefit to hitting the strings near the neck on top of the sound hole? I realize that's how you play the guitar, I wonder if there's any benefit to that. Also, thank you for the lessons as usual!

Thanks so much!
Thank you Mr Tomo. Great way of making us understand these triads. Maybe you could do inversion video for us. Thanks again.🤘🤘✌🖖!!!
Great suggestion! More triad videos!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Yes please the ones with flat and sharp intervals and their inversions they are the building blocks we all need. And I for one would deeply appreciate.. 🤘🤘✌🖖!!

You're welcome! Please join my Guitar Wisdom. Only $9.99 a month subscription video lessons. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing! Thank you!
I always wondered how my piano player seemed like she knew songs so easily this really helped
Awesome!
Cheers man. Awesome.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for the lesson! BTW, you can try nose wash/sinus rinse, it really helps with allergy!
Thanks for the tip!
I am fine now. I get really bad allergy around Late May, early June.
P.S. I really hope you feel better from your allergies, thanks for making the video anyway. I'm having coffee for no particular reason 😂 okay... now next Sammi in her 3rd lesson. I'm looking forward to that one. She's gonna' be great. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!!
So nice to hear that! I will make more fun videos with my positive feeling... I would love to make another simple triad lesson video.
Basically we can choose any keys!
I am looking forward to making Sammi's 3rd lesson video soon.

Minor chord progression at 15 min seems to be used in Wading in the Velvet Sea by Phish
Many great songs = same and similar chords!
Ginger Tea! Lemon juice and honey Tea! Try it. Nice lesson thanks, Take care of that cough.
Thank you so much!
Every time I open a video from TOMO :
🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻
Thank you!!
14:00 I'm italian and I love "do re mi fa sol la si"
Awesome!
Thank you for the nice video, tomo! :) could you analyse the lovely chordprogression? There is so much non diatonic stuff going on. Like tritone substitution or secondary dominat chords. Do I need to know all this? Have a great day!
After this simple lesson, yes that's possible to do! More fun!
COFFEE HELPS SOMETIMES 👍😊
Yes!!
Hey tomo - what is your favorite amp for home practice? And what is your favorite amp for stage?
I use my Fender Musicmaster Bass Amp everyday.
Vintage Fender Amps (combo amps) Pro Reverb is the best!
Hello sir.. I really want to learn those chords G, C, D, Em, Bm. Counting into as Numbers.
Thank you so much
Please keep watching this video! More detail videos are at my Guitar Wisdom
It’s sequential like this 1G 2A 3B 4C 5D 6E 7F simple as that! So the progression you have is I IV V VIm IIIm
I imagine Tomo coming in at a concert like this opening xD!
Thank you!
I want to add one more thing. Knowledge is power I don’t care what you do. The more you know about it the better you will be.
Thank you!
Quick... send @Tomo some coffee!!!!
Thank you! I love coffee!
Try this Mr T.... White Vienna bread, pastrami, swiss cheese, gherkin, seeded mustard. YUMMMM
Oh and lots of pepper.
Another great video! I'm reviewing my music theory = perfect timing!
I am still interested in your Pink Squier if you would like to sell it, please let me know?
Good job! More music theory you know... just better! Thank you!
Thank you for the amazing demonstration. Was that タイニーリトル・アジアンタム (Tiny Little Adiantum) you were using as an example at 17:00? Sounds familiar :)
You're welcome! Many songs!
Mr Tomo, is there any benefit to hitting the strings near the neck on top of the sound hole? I realize that's how you play the guitar, I wonder if there's any benefit to that.
Also, thank you for the lessons as usual!
Yes, absolutely! I love the warm tone around there.
@@TomoFujitaMusic I'm gonna start doing that. Thanks sensei!
