@@Frogkingtommy honestly home resort only means u have 11 month window to book.. if I were u looking into resale I would go with what ever Is the cheapest annual dues. I currently own at Vero Beach (annual fees are way to much, but paid under 9k for 150 points back in 2002) and also own 2 contracts at Saratoga springs I have no problem getting into any resort possible.
There are few things in life with as much blissful, childlike wonder, as Adam seeing the Monorail go by. You can just feel it emanate. It's always so nice to see an adult not lose touch of that sensibility.

We stayed at Bay Lake Tower once, with good friends who are DVC members. One of the best things about staying there, is that you can walk to Magic Kingdom from the resort. Also, the views of Magic Kingdom from the rooftop of Bay Lake Tower are beautiful, especially the fireworks show. It was a great trip that year!

I have been a member since 95. One of the best use of points is a value studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge VALUE Studio. 11 points a night during the week in August. Love that resort!
Adam I love the excitement you show over the small little wonders of magic at Disney. You & I are the same age so you make me feel better knowing it’s ok to be giddy like a kid. The little things get me too! My goal when I retire from teaching, 6 more years to go, is to live in the Disney area. Congrats on achieving your goal of becoming a DVC member!

I’m obviously behind on videos but I have to say it’s perfect timing for this one. I’ll be checking into BLT (Lake View 1 bedroom) in 2 days. While not my first DVC stay, it will be my first DVC stay at WDW- first WDW trip since 1994. 💕 you have me so pumped, Adam! Make sure to save or borrow those points for a stay at Villas at Grand Californian too!
BLT is our favorite! The separate kitchenette set up is perfect for 1-3 people. It makes it feel like a perfect little apartment. Location cannot be beat. Walkable to MK and it's bus terminal for resort hopping. Monorail access as well as boat access to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. Since we own the majority of our points at BLT, here are some usage tips! There are very few bad views at BLT. The standard view rooms tend to go quickly due to their lower point cost. These rooms tend to be on the lower floors(3 and below) and possibly some higher floor rooms without lake or theme park views(looking at the Contemporary or the tennis courts). Lake view is our favorite for points to value of the view. Lake view tends to be the last rooms to be booked. Good news is that many standard as well as lake view rooms have partial MK/fireworks views. Theme park vew is from floors 4 and up. The 5th floor tends to be popular due to its access to the skybridge to the Contemporary. We usually stay in studios, but the 1 bedrooms and larger are really great. Too bad the weather wasnt nicer, but pool area is nice and it is only a short walk to the Contemporary pool as well. Two waterslides within walking distance! Top of the World Lounge is great for hanging out especially for fireworks viewing. The absolute best location for viewing the NYE and 4th of July firework shows(book early!!!) Also great for catching the ticketed holiday party event fireworks when you don't have tickets. The 7 layer cake is great and a must if you are up there. Many people dont like BLT due to the style of the rooms, but coming from NYC, it is like being able to stay in a Manhattan apartment right next to MK!

I prefer the old videos of Adam when he went in some famous locations museum graves or similar .. now it’s only about Disney resort or Disney or eat .. in fact there are new vloggers or most recent that they have outdated his number of subscribers ..
I stayed at the Contemporary when I was in 5th grade the first year it was opened. My parents went out to dinner and I got a Disney nanny for the evening. She was wonderful and we went to the Magic Kingdom where I was treated to the best experience a kid could have. Instant ride access to anything I wanted. I rode in the Monorail with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald. It was the most memorable time I ever had at Disney.
Great video, @TheDailyWoo ! Lots of memories came back. Stayed in the Contemporary in 1974 at age 6. Remember the excitement of the monorail going thru the hotel, and of watching the Electric Water Parade & castle fireworks from our room after a long day at WDW. Lines were long even back then, due to it being the only Disney park in Orlando. Ate at Contempo Cafe daily, still have our coffee mugs from there & our leftover ride ticket books.

To bad it's raining outside so you could do more. You'll be up all night watching the monorail go by. Have a great stay there. I wander if we'll ever get back to normal again.
I can see how you'd want something higher up for the better view but it was kind of nice for you to have the monorail at eye level the entire time. Congrats on first night as a DVC member!

We've stayed at Bay Lake Tower 3 times, on the 8th, 9th and 12th floors. The view from the 12th floor was spectacular!!! If I'm using my BLT knowledge right, we were in the equivalent connecting 1 bedroom villas on those floors from the room you were in. When they have fireworks, they play the music on your TV so you can listen along with the show!! The fireworks are more like "Fireworks Over Space Mountain," but they are glorious just the same. As an added bonus, the really loud booms trigger the "Car Alarm Symphony" in Bay Lake Tower's lot!!
Adam, congrats on your DVC membership! You won't regret it (and if you ever did, the resale market to sell your points is good). Bay Lake Tower is one of our favorites, worth the extra points to spend a night. But your best "value" for points would be Animal Kingdom Lodge or Old Key West; and Hilton Head Island resort is great as well (road trip!)
We stayed at bay lake in 2018. We rented points. It was so neat to watch the Hallowishes fireworks from the balcony. Was also night being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom. We have gone back and forth about getting a dvc. If we do it will be in a few years when the kids graduate. Hopefully by then the annual passes will be available again.
I bought a DVC member points one year and stayed at bay lake tower. BEST STAY EVER!! Walking to the park, the roof restaurant/bar, close to the contemporary and first on the MO-NO-RAIL!!! Totally ruined any other stay there. Have a awesome stay and enjoy, I’m jealous.

Thank you for posting these videos Adam. My wife and I are planning a Disney World vacation for 2022 or 2023. (It feels like I'm talking about the distant future when I say 2023.) We live on the West Coast so we cannot check these hotels out ourselves. Your hotel walk throughs are really helping us narrow down where we want to stay.
I think the 4th floor was the perfect spot for you; the monorails wished for it; someone to show the love.....I didn't know about your DVC commitment, but , heck it, I like that you've gone for it; the excitement in your voice says it all
The vehicle 'pushed' by the monorail, was actually the 'Pig'. It is used for repairing the monorail track and for towing a broken down monorail. It wasn't being pushed, it was towing the monorail, FYI
The hallway carpet is so cool. Great first stay with DVC. Eva and me had a room on the 6th floor of the Contemporary for our honeymoon 29 years ago!!!!🏰🌐😊

@@MarkyMouse - My dad was famous for not making hotel reservations. We drove down in a cargo van....stopped at a bunch of hotels outside of the main gate...no luck. My dad drove to the Contemporary, and came out...looking disappointed again. Then, when he got in the van, he held up the room key! I think, at that time, it was an old style key on a plastic keychain. lol. Nice that you get to visit so often now. Blessed.
Not even a dreary gloomy day kept you from enjoying your DVC evening. It's really a nice place, very inviting. Great views. The Raspberry Dolup looked refreshing. Sure hated the weather couldn't have been more in your favor. Enjoyed looking out over to Space Mountain, & the Castle lit up. Got to see "2" mon-o-rails at the same time! How cool was that?
Amazing DVC day. I stayed at Old Key West. Great vacation. Catch the bus!!! Don’t miss it. It rained a lot in the evening when I was there. The weather is so detrimental to full day at the parks. Very different from Southern California.
Always nice to just stay back and chill. One of the great things about DVC and going so often. Theme park view at BLT is always a great view. Need some fireworks now!!

What a great experience and video man. I'm going to bet it was hard for you seeing the monorail ,and not saying THERE GOES THE MONORAIL. I've stayed at contemporary before its awsome so close to magic kingdom less then 10 min walk . Congratulations on your DVC purchase them lounges are going to be cool this summer when fireworks come back !

We love BLT! Like your monorail view too! Can’t beat walking to MK! We love the lake view - less points but overlook the lake and see/hear all the boats and nightly water pageant.

When the Top of the World Lounge and Firework are back open, it’s a great place to stay. I stayed on the top floor once, down the hall from TOWL. Lake view rooms are very nice too.
Fun fact.....the “interesting art work” as you called it in the kitchenette area is where the bathroom sink was when BLT was first built. So many people complained about the layout, they changed it and put the sink in the bathroom side, resulting in the wall sticking out like that. 😊

I love rainy days with good umbrella, even on vacation. Stormy days are nice too but have to be inside.

Amazing DVC day. I stayed at Old Key West. Great vacation. Catch the bus!!! Don’t miss it. It rained a lot in the evening when I was there. The weather is so detrimental to full day at the parks. Very different from Southern California.

Always nice to just stay back and chill. One of the great things about DVC and going so often. Theme park view at BLT is always a great view. Need some fireworks now!!
Welcome Home! We love being DVC! It is fun staying at all the different resorts. Just to let you know that you can rent dvc movies from the community halls from your resort. Hope you have many years of enjoyment ahead!
What a great experience and video man. I'm going to bet it was hard for you seeing the monorail ,and not saying THERE GOES THE MONORAIL. I've stayed at contemporary before its awsome so close to magic kingdom less then 10 min walk . Congratulations on your DVC purchase them lounges are going to be cool this summer when fireworks come back !

When Adam is on the balcony and says, “There goes the Monorail!” It would have been really funny if someone on the balcony above (like a booming voice from the heavens) replied, “You want to ride it... don’t you?” 😆

We love BLT! Like your monorail view too! Can’t beat walking to MK! We love the lake view - less points but overlook the lake and see/hear all the boats and nightly water pageant.

When the Top of the World Lounge and Firework are back open, it’s a great place to stay.
I stayed on the top floor once, down the hall from TOWL. Lake view rooms are very nice too.
Fun fact.....the “interesting art work” as you called it in the kitchenette area is where the bathroom sink was when BLT was first built. So many people complained about the layout, they changed it and put the sink in the bathroom side, resulting in the wall sticking out like that. 😊
