Thank you
Perfect timing on this video, awesome thank you
Your most welcome :)
Really really good video. This is perfect, explaining so that everybody can understand the basics of it. Thanks a lot Devon.
Thanks Pop Reef!
Soooo what you’re saying is that you’re down to come to all of our house to set it up for us? Thanks bro!!
Hahaha with the right bribe lol
Good info for my next build
Thanks as always Devin great Informative content 👌
Thanks Paul!
Second chambers do not " soak up" any noticeable amount of CO2. If you check the pH of the effluent coming out of the first chamber, you will see its exactly the same as the pH of the effluent coming out of the second.
I agree, the ph difference is neglible, I think the major difference why people say the second chamber increases tank ph is because you need to dose less effluent because the media is more concentrated. After adding a second chamber I was able to decrease my effluent by 50%. Less low ph effluent means higher tank ph
Could be. My tanks ph is slightly higher with a second chamber than without one
@@jamesmolnar7780 So your saying a second chamber increases the alk of the effluent and therefore you need less of it, raising tank pH. I suppose that makes sense, but a larger single chamber would do the same thing.
@@reefkeeper2 yeah exactly, a second chamber can usually be found for less cost as they don't have a recirc pump. Also people might start out only need the 1 chamber then their alk consumption is so high they need another one, and it's easier to just add another chamber

I've done this myself in the past. Its easy to drip the effluent thru a DIY tube filled with media.
I bumped my DOS up to 275ml of each yesterday.
It’s getting stoopid expensive. But I keep holding out for a NS calcium reactor product. It feels like the best tech and best products are all 15 years old.
That’s a lot of dosing. WhTs NS? Neptune or something else?
@@ReefDudes Neptune systems
Good video sir! My tank isn’t consuming a whole lot of calcium and alkalinity. I’m only dosing 15 ml’s per day to keep it my alk at 8.5. My question is, should I setup my calcium reactor even with such low consumption? It’s either spend the money on a dosing pump or setup my reactor that I already have everything to setup. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks bud!
Nice!
what do you add to make up for the trace and minor elements not replenished by the carx?
Currently doing brightwell replenish and chartogro. Also tweak things with reef moonshiners periodically based off Icp
Any reason you push vs pull? I decided to pull just in case I sprink a leak or have a tube crack or something
I have always found pushing you be quieter
Code reactor? Any input between that and the geo one?
Code? Have not heard of that one.
do you still dose trace elements? if so what
How many ml you have your versa set for thanks
50ml/min Ish on my waterbox
@@ReefDudes thanks for your reply one more question can you tell me at what ph do you keep in your calcium reactor thanks again and bubbles on the carbon doser
I don't dose a lot of calcium, only need to rise it by 10pp weekly to every second week. Currently I am dosing KH with auto doser but thinking about kalkwasser or calcium reactor. I am scared if I tune it to have stable KH my calcium is going to rise to much? What is your thoughts about it?
I am like you you so all I use is All-For-Reef - Tropic Marin
For low demand stock to kalk reactor.
What is your thought on tubing for co2? Is it hype? What do you use, I see several colors?
I just used RODI line.. Their may be some miniscule loss vs one rated for CO2.. likely has to do with pour size and what can works its way out over time
Do you use an aquarium controller to monitor your dkh?
Yes, i have an alkatronic alk tester which also feeds that data into an apex controller
Shouldn't you be pulling instead of pushing?
Nope, i prefer to push. easier to get rid of any air buildup and keeps it silent.
Can i ask? if i get Calcium Reactors so i no need to dosing every day with Calcium Foundation? thanks
Calcium reactor can maintain alk/Ca and mag (if you add mag chips). You only need to dose to make corrections then the reactor should maintain it
