My only complaint with you guys is I’m going to have to start a GoFundMe for the books of the authors you feature on this channel 😝😝😆. Another day, another brilliant guest and interview. This channel is a goldmine. 🕎❤️🙏🏻
Great interview! Curious if you might talk with Jonathan Stökl about Biblical and Ancient Near Eastern Prophecy at some point? He has done podcasts and interviews on the topic.
Thank you! We enjoyed this interview quite a bit. Thanks for the recommendation! Dr. French’s PhD supervisor is actually close friends with Jonathan Stökl! Nathan has met him a number of times actually. He would be a great person to have on our podcast. In the meantime, you might enjoy listening to our episode with Lena-Sofia Tiemeyer, Nathan’s PhD supervisor who is also a prophets expert and a friend of Jonathan. ruclips.net/video/BZ1zeliiN_U/видео.htmlsi=ppJgBBxmbpDYmNTW
It really is a small world! Lena-Sofia Tiemeyer. She’s an excellent scholar. We interviewed her on our channel actually. Here’s a link to the episode ruclips.net/video/BZ1zeliiN_U/видео.htmlsi=kBQTEokK8xDYSnd8
Why does George Athas downplay the book of Enoch? He said some nice things about it, but this is the sweet spot period he is writing about. What is the significance of Enoch? How do we use it today as we study it? Do we dismiss what Enoch is writing about? Some write that Enoch was even more valued than Moses? Enjoy the interview, i ordered the book and also listening on audio. I wish George was reading the audio was George! (i have to wait for the book to look at some words that were not clear pronounced!) I'm a fan, great work.
I can't speak to George's response on Enoch, but I can say that Enoch is indeed a very important book for understanding culture and thought of 2nd Temple Judaism (although there is much diversity amongst different groups within Judaism at the time, so we don't want generalize too much). Enoch is considered canonical by Ethiopian Orthodox church. Some of the church fathers such as Tertullian viewed the book as very important. Most Christians, however, do not consider it canonical as inerrant and inspired by God and a source for official church doctrine. Still, it is very valuable for understanding the history, culture, and thought of a critical time period in the plot of the story of Scripture. The late Dr. Michael Heiser has spoken on and written about Enoch. He is one source that I would recommend. If you search his name and "Enoch" you will find podcast episodes, youtube videos, and even his commentary on "Enoch" to be great resources. I am also glad to hear that you are enjoying the book by George Athas! It is a fantastic read. I would also have loved to listen to an audio version read by him. George has a great speaking voice. He is a true storyteller through and through! Thanks for engaging with our content! It is great to have you along for the journey.
@@hebrewbibleinsights Thanks for taking the time. We over here in my circles have read all his stuff, listen to all his podcast, nakedbible, and had the honor to communicate with Michael Heiser a few times, miss him already. By the way, we own a 100,000 + volume christian used bookstore and are carrying BTT and all of Heiser's material.
Sounds like you have a great circle of people! How special that you were able to meet Heiser. So sad that he passed away…he gave much so much with his teaching. It’s also great to hear about your bookstore! That sounds like such a great place!
Question, what type of Judaism do you concider to become the dominant one, the more good or the more evil ones? And why would you consider them more good or evil?

This was so interesting! It answers many questions and fills in a lot of gaps. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Would love to hear a discussion on Generational curse!

He really is! We were glad to have him!
