I’ve been trying to land a bell 407 like this in Microsoft flight simulator, but it’s so hard to get it right using the collective, it’s always seems to come down nicely, then just above the ground it seems to all of a sudden drop out the sky. Is it something to do with the helicopters down wash?

Just takes a lot of practice! But MS Flight Simulator is definitely not the same as the real life version.
@@McMahonHeli yes I’ve already heard people say that there is an input delay when using the collective, so I’m guessing that’s half the problem.

Why do they land a pad..?
The landing pad is used to move the helicopter in and out of the hangar for helicopters with skid landing gear.
