For the sub world of the 2nd level you beat, you got the mole past that area by knocking the muncher upwards JUST before the mole walks over it, so the muncher on it's head never drops under the one-way, and making a platform to run over. You were MEANT to bring it all the way to the right and grab the POW as it fell down into the lava. Then you would go back the way you came (one-ways were not blocking return) and destroy the munchers with the POW block THEN...

Coming back to Mario after having played super meat boy was a real bummer. Not only do you have to wait after dying, you have a limited number of attempts too.
If there’s ever a SMM3 this is the main QOL change I hope for. A quick restart in endless/100 nan would benefit everyone. Even if it’s just a toggle cause I see why Nintendo does the animation as well.

Also with the online down being fast thing: When Miiverse was shut down liking a level in Mario Maker still contacts Miiverse, gets denied, then goes to Nintendo Servers who fix it up and like it. That’s why liking courses takes longer now. Cause it’s trying to connect to Miiverse then goes to another Nintendo server after a timeout Disabling Miiverse in Parental Controls speeds it up a tonne since it skips Miiverse servers and goes straight to the backup server. Wonder if that has any effect on level reloading? I doubt it though since iirc only liking levels and comments were part of Miiverse (likes is now part of the whole server after shutdown)

It's actually even longer. Ryu cut it but Mario's death animation and just the beginning of the loading screen were already 4 seconds. Which means if you burn all your lives that's more than 10 extra minutes you have to sit through

I think it’s more that the shell hasn’t left the pipe yet and is in its animation cycle. If the animation is interrupted it goes back in. Pretty sure this works with piranha plants too if you time it well enough
