- Meet Eve, our new bonsai beginner.
Out of the office and to the outdoors, Eve wanders the rows of Mirai’s landscape with a new perspective. As a member of the Mirai creative and operations team for the past three years, she has witnessed some of the most iconic compositions at the garden evolve in real time.
Eve’s inaugural trees come to her as gifts from her father, who she grew up watching carefully tend to his own bonsai collection. These flowering trees have been under his care since the passing of Tom Post, beloved former president of the Bonsai Club of Santa Barbara. Now, Eve will carry the honor of stewarding them through their next phase of life.
After a quick consultation with Mirai founder and bonsai professional Ryan Neil, she begins her bonsai quest. Fully guided by the Mirai Live online bonsai education platform, she has all the how-to’s of bonsai cultivation by her side.
Watch as Eve selects a front and new repotting angle, cleans out dead tips and downward growing branches, and boldly attempts the structural and detail wiring process... like no beginner has before.

I am now officially an Eve fan!
A very fun video, thanks Eve!
The bonsai community needs more people like you.
Eve is the best! Thanks Mirai for all the great content!
Loving your energy Eve 🥰 You're like The Bonsai Fairy skipping round the garden to check on your tree and chatting to it while you work 😊
That was heaps of fun
The enjoyment she gets out of bonsai reminds me of my first experience!
Awe loved this video
if you're having a bad day, just watch this and you'll can't help but instantly feel better.
Definition of wholesome, joy to watch.
This video was filled with so much joy. I just love it.
Eve is my bonsai spirit animal. The water droplet comparison was fantastic, can't wait to see what she does next with her unique perspective.
Showing how much fun, enjoyment, and imagination can be involved with Bonsai and related realms therein. Glad to see Eve is enjoying her new adventure with plants and trees.
YESSSSSSS!!!!! That is why it is addicting. Welcome to the journey.
Thank you thank you thank you for this video! I'll devour every chance I get to watch people working with bonsai in 4K!
Eve, you made your process soooo FUN! As a beginner you've helped me build my confidence and remember that Bonsai should be beautiful, relaxing and fun. Thanks honey ☺️
BEAUTIFUL
Keep on growing in to bonsai eve you can do it
The tree looks good, I love the dead wood on it. Cant wait to see how it progresses and the pot it ends up in.

Does Eve really say "Zeig mir die Bonsai" at the beginning?
Beautiful video with a lot of enthusiasm and emotion.
THANK YOU!
Holger ich fürchte sie sagt " it's time to do Bonsai". 😁
@@patrickfo967 ich muss an meinem Englisch arbeiten... 😉
She's beautiful.
Sweet job Eve! 🍿🌳🌱✊🏼
Yes the indecision of what to keep and what to cut. It comes very naturally to pros who can see what the end result will be . It is time consuming when you really want to work on your trees to see a change.
very cool to see Eve working a tree. very nice.
Congratulations Eve!!
Really enjoyed that, really like watching you wire that tree.
I want to see more of Eve and her tree! 😍
This was awesome
Basic Bitch Bonsai is the best name for a nursery ever! Def need to start a new channel, hosted by Eve!
Heck yes! Go Eve, Go Mirai!
Love the choice, this part of Mirai is funny and sweet as well. :)
I really enjoyed this video.
Keep up the great work,Eve!
Never be lazy, this is a discipline.
A discipline that I have failed.
I lost a 40 year old olive tree.
I lost a 29 year old Premna mycrophilla(need oil tree)
I failed them.
I became lazy, and I pay the price,I let them down.
Do not do the same as me!
On a happier note,I have a lovely fig that prospers, she produces tiny figs!
And a 30 year old Euphorbia Capsaintmariensis,it’s a little masterpiece, sold to me by Carl Dreiblis, one of the masters!
❤️
Yaaah, way to go!!
Very nice👍
Having fun with Bonsai!
Beauty tree and beauty girl
Every style or way of doing something starts somewhere.
Nice one Eve
Bourgainvillea in Oregon! Interesting challenge but a rewarding one longterm. Watch exposed wood for rot if outside. Infact outside under glass in summer is perfect for bougies I reckon. Maybe, water the pot and gravel beneath the tree there not the foliage or wood. Any exposed wood gets eaten by humidity with no hardener on it.
Super
Good hair😍😍
Ill have what Eve is having !
: Out of all bonsai related vedios that I've watched so far, which were dead serious kind of, this one in particular is funny..! Idk, she did this cool.
I was born in Santa Barbara and still work there. I wish I new your dad I dont know anybody else that pretends to practice the art of bonsai.
Jason, Google “Bonsai Club of Santa Barbara”. We’d be happy to have you join us at our next meeting.
Eve for part 2 !
Update pleaseeee :)
That is a Grewia Occidentalis, or better know as a Crossberry in South Africa. It is indigenous here and grows into massive bushes at the coastal areas.
How did your father get so many flowers/brocks on the bougainvillea? Mine only has leaves
When's the episode two comming out? Hoho 😅
can a pinus patula ( Mexican Weeping Pine ) be a good pine for bonsai ?
What a cutie, I love Santa Barbara but prefer San Luis Obispo.
👍🍎👌
those sure are some Oregon glasses and hair
I find that glasses terrible, the girl would be so sweet but that glasses...
What species is it? Sorry if it was mentioned in the video, I missed it
Its common name is the lavender African star
@@BonsaiMirai beautiful, thanks! My wife likes the looks of it. Might be her first bonsai too
ive never seen someone look so oregon
bro what happened to your hair. Officially a "silver head" now.
Can anyone let me know if Eve is single ? And if she is available? Nothing more attractive than a lady styling a tree.
