martin here ( wifes account name shows ) mate great flying , film work and great sound , bit of hg background but feeling a strong pull towards pg and your video adds to that cheers.
Really a nice video Mark, I appreciate all your tips and always find something interesting to learn even though It' s more than 30 years I,ve been flying ( I'm seventytwo y.o. now) Thanks !
I think this is one of your best videos Mark. It also shows how the is no 'best time of year' to fly in the UK. Very inspiring... Can't wait for my CP course next month. 👍👍
It's so funny because last night when I uploaded it I was going to stop and it and delete parts and re edit because I did not think it was that good "BUT" many have said this one is the favourite, strange how things turn out hehe!!
Loving the videos Marc - it would be great if you could include in your video intro's or on the walk up which sites you are flying from (of course bearing in mind that some sites may be for local Club members only)...helpful for us watching to get some context...cheers and keep up the training..!
Nice video Marc. I'd like to see you do your quick pack after a real flight - perhaps a slow one with explanation and a fast one without. It always seems to take me ages using a concertina bag if I bottom land and want to get back up the hill (and I don't want to carry a quick packing bag). Looking for tips to speed things up.
Marc, one thing I have noticed as a beginner is that my sports apparel is nowhere near optimized. That blue puffer jacket you have looked so comfortable what jacket was that? I was wondering if you could maybe do an episode on your favorite flying sports apparel for different conditions.
Hi Ian, well I have never been a traditional paraglider pilot for clothing, even when I competed at the paragliding world cups I just turned in in my jeans and t shirt and a mid layer jacket. Those jackets believe it or not are Super dry Down jackets, sian got one and could not believe how warm it was compared to her very expensive RAB, so I bought the same for around £50 and it’s shockingly warm.
Another great video Mark. Thanks for sharing your journey. I’m really interested to see if all that lightweight gear works in practice. Thanks for sacrificing your results to bring us along…
Mark please practice with the "Water to go" first as it is a pain to use it to fill other water bottles due to the low flow rate even when squeezing. I use two of them I wish they made bigger bottles say 1.5L. Having said that "Water to go" bottles are excellent, the only water you can not use is salt water, I prefer them to the "Life Straw" bottles, but both are designed to drink out of only, not to filter water for other uses. Also do not forget to activate the filter by soaking it for 15 mins first.
Yes I found that out but @watertogo are very kindly sending me some bottles so will take 2 with me on my flying trips and comps, they do an active bottle I think slightly bigger, when it arrives I will show you.
@@leavesleyaviation I have not seen one of the active bottles in real life, I look forward to you showing it and if it is any different. I have used many water sources with mine. Its still best to use the clearest water as the filter lasts longer. Also it is the only one that filters out viruses so a must in hotter countries.
Great video as usual Mark!! Could you tell me what make/model the compass is on your flight deck? Having trouble finding anything half decent that is'nt 300 quid!!!
You know I have had that years and years and don't remember buddy, I will open up tomorrow and have a look for you. ps: SILVA I am 99% Just remembered ....... getting old haha!!
You’re a skygod Mark. Amazing climb for so late in the day in a UK Feb. What a great flight. Do you have any protection in your harness? It seems to fold up really small!
I've never understood why volbiv/hike and fly don't learn from the UL and FKT community who know so so so much more about how to optimise gear and speed over terrain.
Stunning day for Feb in the Evening! And yeah that was us!

thanks for sharing1 TOP!
For someone who is doing everything on his own, hiking, flying, filming, your work is really commendable 👍👍
That is very kind Ikhlaq.

Can't beat a butt drag haha
Loved it! February here on the west coast of Canada is almost useless for the rain, but nice to see someone out there is up and about!
Next week maybe good again hopefully so may finally get the wing over video complete.

Yes it has a small protection and when we do the camping we take that out and put the sleeping bag and tent in it’s place.
