For pubs however this is awful because it jeopardises opportunities to reset a fight that isn’t going your way. Like u said, maybe Fortnite can only make it like this for both modes but I just think that a multi-billion dollar worth company can surely implement a change to one mode separately? Pointless. Even if they dont respawn thwy can still farm surge with cacti to a extent. Especially the groups of cacti or the ones that are close together. Theres spots on the map if you know were to look.. Meanwhile pub games get nerfed for no reason.. An all the day before fncs finals too. This is stupid move on epics part imo.. Should of waited till they can do a proper correction to the state of the game.

Lowkey this actually kind of scuffs my solo drop now. Heavily relied on the slurp cactus so i could carry an extra slot for a while early game. Looks like im playing creative all weekend 😢
I’m going to drive through the desert biomes hot spots and hit all the cactuses just because 😈😂 all jokes aside though this isn’t a great change, but I’m glad it’s only temporary. The cactus is a cool in game item.
This is kind of cool. I was in a match the other day where at endgame there were 4 cars zooming around, targeting the cacti over and over. Those fights took so long that the diameter of the final circle was so small that one zip from the nitro gloves took you out of zone. That was tense.
I actually had a public match activate surge one time. Or at least it was throwing up warnings saying surge was going to activate. It only happened once. And I don't remember why or what I was doing in the match that might have caused the warning to pop up like that. I was Very confused. lol.
Oh the way I've understood storm surge when I've watched vids in the past is that just the 1 team with lowest damage takes storm surge, rather then just all the teams under the threshold. (I thought the threshold was just showing the lowest team how much damage do they need to get above the second lowest team, and then everyone else is just getting the lowest teams damage to try to stay above that). But i guess i understood it wrong?
Personally? I kinda wish this was always like this. I remember getting into a fight with someone who had the nitro medallion, mythic nitro fists, and the ride the lightning guitar. Their whole strat was to chip people from afar, and them reset the fight after taking the smallest bit of damage, and since it was in the wasteland area, they just kept kept hitting all the cactuses And since I had the machinist medallion, the fight lasted FOREVER, and i eventually died because i kept chasing I've been hating on those cactuses ever since lol
