@@6AM_YT he was my idol. Never meet your heros.....and damn sure dont send him 40 bucks. I never got anything. When confronted him he denied getting any money from me. I still love the art. I can't help it... but the mystique died after that phone call.

@@johnnyroberts7093 It seems clear that a lot of the people who were burned by him make excuses for it. I also suspect that if MRR was to call out everyone who ever ripped someone off in the hardcore punk community, it would have been a very long list.
I got a couple of 7 inches, and Hyperstoics, plus bought stuff. I got the Septic Death Victim Of A Thought Crime double 10 inch and the Crossed Out Twice cd on the pre-order no problem. Bought a bunch of the records, and kinda figure the membership was for access to that stuff as much as anything.... Wouldn't part with any of it......
I sent cash in 89 for shirts n posters that never came, so I never signed on to Phase one or two..... Wish I had, but shit happens....... The crazy expensive toys now, I have very little interest in.....

@@6AM_YT I also got stuff, and I dropped Pushead a letter after I relocated and he had some stuff set aside for me that had been returned that he forwarded to me. The membership was always about having access as much as it was about getting stuff…

I subscribed to Phase San (being from Europe it was much more expensive than $40 due to oversea shipping costs) and the impression I got is that Pushead just gave up halfway through or something. Memory is hazy at that point but I remember getting an. Hyperstoic zine or two (one of which actually came with a 7"), the Septic Death CD with additional 5", one of those comp 7's you showed, and probably no more than 3 news sheets. But I got the opportunity to buy a Septic Death double 10", which I did even though it was expensive. It has my name handwritten on it by Pushead so it's still pretty cool I guess. I felt I kinda got ripped off at the time, but I'm all over it now.
If I remember correctly, I think I bought the 7"s. I only got one Hyperstoic book. I definitely didn't get a Septic Death CD. I had the CD, but I bought it from a bistro called Vacuum back in the day. I'm pretty sure I bought the 5" Septic Death record from him. I think I got a random Balzac promo CD, too at one point.
@@6AM_YT The 7" I got along with an Hyperstoic issue was by a band named Füll Speed Ahead, I believe. I traded or sold that one though. I used to order from Vacuum a lot and got a couple of Bacteria Sœur items from them as well - Cavity CD, etc.

@@6AM_YT Vacuum was the best. Still have a couple of Vacuum magnets on my fridge! I miss the time when oversea postage was still affordable. Funny anecdote re: Pushead, he mailordered my own band's record out of the blue a couple of years ago! Crazy he still shows interest in obscure underground bands. Proof I hold no grudges, I actually sent it to him, LOL (felt very honored TBH). I'm also finally getting a Hand of Fear tattoo in 2022... not a disposable one, haha

Ouch. You are the Andy Rooney of Pushead vinyl. Those 7 inches are super cool though. Donald Pushead. The old bait n switch. Played on idealism for forty bucks. Probably had big plans he couldn t deliver on. Should have said just that. Apologized and sent out one cool 7 inch. Or just sent back the money. With money and time things get funny.

Yeah, I think the part that annoys me the most is that he managed to put out a few records after this. Oh well. I've had two decades to get over it. I'm mostly over it. Mostly. haha...

Dude, you're a long-winded whiner. You may not know this, but I think around that time Pushead found out he had cancer. I joined Phase San and I did get some things. In fact, I mailed him a letter and he was psyched because he had been setting stuff aside for me that had been returned by the post office. I have letters from him around that time, too. He was definitely still doing stuff. But I think the cancer thing may have been pretty serious. I was out in San Fran around that time touring with Cluster Bomb Unit and pushead met up with us because CBU was putting a song on the next installment of Bacteria Sour comps, I think ti was #4. Everything was good to go, but (and my memory may be kind of cloudy) Pushead got sick...that's all I remember.
I don't think it's whining to be upset that you paid for something that you never received. This is the first time I've heard that Pushead was ill and that's why Phase San never happened. If that was the case, he could have and should have said something to that effect in an update.
@@6AM_YT It's Pushead. If the $40 was that crucial, I probably wouldn't have suggested joining. I joined the first waves and there were a lot of great releases. I joined San, too, and I do remember getting some stuff, and having opportunities to get some other stuff at insanely inexpensive prices. Bottom line is you made your $40 back on the stuff you sold, which I'm sure you sold at a premium price. You made that profit because you're profiteering off the art created by the same guy you're railing on in your video... call it a day and leave it at that.

@@bryandean9377 Hero worship may be blinding you. It's fair to get what you paid for, that's the real bottom line. Pushead could've easily communicated issues and sent stuff out later. Mind you this didn't happen to only one person. It's cool he did nice things for you, however he should've made things right to the others who signed up and paid for Phase San, no matter how long it took.

Yeah, stupid move. I’m sure this guy will regret it some day. And judging from his kind of relatively shallow knowledge about the stuff he’s showing, he’s not really into collecting pushead stuff anyway…
