動画画面を見ずに、ファイナリスト奏者たちの音だけを聴いてみました。
Evaさんの繊細で優しい音は、ショパンを正しく再現していてとても良いと思いました。
実際、ショパンは観客のたくさん入る大きなホールでは「音が聴こえない」と不評でした。そもそも彼は少人数の人に聴かせるサロンでの演奏を好んでいました。ショパンの作る音楽は元々サロン向きだったはずです。
ところがこのコンクールではショパンを正しく理解することを求めながら、ショパンの嫌いだった大きなホールでの演奏です。
ホールでは、フランツ・リストのように大きな音でテクニカルに奏でるほど見栄えがして、審査員と観客の心をとらえます。ショパンらしく優しく繊細にピアノを奏でる人は、派手な演奏の人に負けてしまいます。
結果、このコンクールは、「ショパンを弾くフランツ・リスト」コンテストになっていると感じます。
私は、本当のショパンに近づく演奏を目指したEvaさんに入賞してほしかったと思います。

I don’t understand how this performance did not win any awards. It is UNBELIEVABLE how well she played. And she is just a kid… when she is older, she will dominate this business.
Such is the competition on this level. Sometimes only the luck decides whom the jury elects...

Well, the audience loved it. But it wasn't down to the audience.
She's playing Chopin in Warsaw. They've heard this thousands of times, by the likes of Rubinstein, Horowitz, and Zimerman. If you're going to win the competition it helps choosing works where the panel aren't going to be hyper-critical.
As for dominating, there's a lot of scary competition out there. I don't think anyone can be a dominant pianist these days. You can specialize on a handful of composers, but it is almost impossible to have a breadth of repertoire without there being some stronger areas and weaker ones. Is she going to be able to "dominate" the likes of Yuja Wang? Kissin? Hamelin? Grosvenor? Eva's great advantage is her attention to detail and passion for every note. Her Scriabin is scary scary good, particularly for someone so young. But here she plays this better than most of the current top pianists (Lang Lang immediately springs to mind) can manage. She understands what the piece is about and brings it forward with clarity.
It also helps that the orchestra is a reasonable size (and have played it more times than they've eaten breakfast), rather than the gargantuan behemoths a lot of pianists have to battle with.
Eva, should you read it one day - please come back in 5 years🙏🏼 we love you here in Poland. Your talent absolutely won my ❤️ and many other ones too.
And she's only 17... Mamma Mia. They must do something right at the Moscow Central Music School, to produce such high quality musicians so young.

Her touch is so soft and lyric just as Chopin's was reported to have been. It's astonishing to think of this as a performance that didn't even place in the final round.

Everyone is raving about Martin Garcia Garcia and Sorita. They both played well, don't get me wrong, and are great performances. But in this I feel Chopin, specifically how I imagine Chopin would play the concerti especially around the time he wrote them. The lightness of touch. The rhythmical playfullness. Carefully place rubato. Bel canto singing but not overdone where every note is the most important note. This was my favourite finalist performance so far. I still prefer Blechacz but this is close!
I wonder if it's an advantage being young for the concerti. Everyone says "she is too young to understand the depth of Chopin". That might be true for the ballades or sonatas (I haven't yet listened to her renditions of those). But Chopin wrote these concerti when he was 17-20 at a rather happy point of his life. There is a sense of idealistic quality about them that you need to be young to really still have. The irony of those comments....

Точно так же Диме Шишкину дали 6 место в 2015. Где все их победители теперь??? Я их вообще слушать не могу, а у Димы несмотря на пандемию, концерты по всему миру и исполнение на высочайшем уровне. Время все расставит на свои места. У Евы огромное исполнительское будущее, успехов ей.

We say in Poland " There is no bad thing that would not come good ( in the end) , Decision of the competition jury mistreated you badly and I am ashamed because of it, but you are so talented and well equipped that I believe great future is ahead of you .and as we also say in Poland you have the wind blowing into your sails !
Marek Dyżewski , a very competent Polish music critic took exactly the same stand as me and praised your performances in superłatives. I believe you will became as famous in XXI century as Svyatoslav Richter was in XX century or better !

Kiedy grała Leonora, chyba 3 razy wychodziłam do kuchni, kiedy grała Ewa nie mogłam się nawet na sekundę oderwać od telewizora. Nie mogłam uwierzyć w ten werdykt. Ktoś miał najwyraźniej przesyt i zaćmienie umysłu. O niej jeszcze świat usłyszy. Jest artystką nie z tej ziemi...

We live in a time of privilege to be able to see and hear such tremendous artists and this artist in particular. Concerts that can be played in all movie theaters and live theater around the world. This young woman is undoubtedly going to be on top during her life and for centuries to come.

Respekt... Eine super angenehme Interpretation und Führung des Orchesters... Wunderschön... Da ist viel Klarheit und Transparenz im Orchesterklang... Ich mag den Dirigenten sehr gern, denn er wirkt total entspannt und sehr freundlich, enorm sicher und liebevoll mit seinem Orchester. Macht sicher Spaß Musiker in seinem Orchester zu sein.... Sehr sehr schön.
Die Pianistin werde ich mir nun auch mal genauer anhören. Spielt noch nicht 😀

Die Pianistin spielt dermaßen sauber und klar, es ist die perfekte Kombination zu diesem Dirigenten und den Orchester. Respekt an diese brilliant Interpretation dieses Werkes.

I got up today hoping to see Eva as one of the winners of Chopin Competition to see only that the judges ostentatiously omitted her. Many, many Polish critics were astounded that not even one prize were given. Eva, please come back to Poland as fast as possible

Le mouvement lent est particulièrement sensible et apporte une réelle nouveauté dans son interprétation. La technicité du mouvement lent qui est très impressionnante, par sa virtuosité garde le sens très élevé du phrasé musical et permet de rendre compte de la belle âme d'Éva Guevorgyan. 😮❤❤❤❤

@@michaczapski4612 Oczywiście gdyby oceniano autentyczność i żywiołowość Pani Ewa miałaby 1 miejsce. W porównaniu do Bruce'a Liu widać było jednak mniejszą kontrolę. U niej gra była bardzo naturalna, mniej przemyślana i mniej prowadzona, a bardziej żywiołowa. Dla odmiany Pan Kuszlik grał bardzo emocjonalnie, ale w stonowanym znaczeniu tego słowa. Bruce Liu przedstawiał zalety połączonych Ewy Gevorgyan i Kuszlika - potrafił przekazać zarówno intensywne i stonowane emocje, zaznaczał swoją obecność, ale w sposób odpowiednio wyważony, z maksymalną kontrolą i niedorównaną techniką. Technicznie Pani Ewa pokazywała pewne mankamenty, dla przykładu w wysokich rejestrach jej dźwięki były bardzo piskliwe i wybijające się, szczególnie w końcówce koncertu. To moim zdaniem zdradzało pewne jeszcze braki w warsztacie - głównie o tym myślałem mając na myśli wyciągnięcie wniosków.

She received 4,000 for reaching the final round, and 10,000 EUR as an extra-statutory award for being the youngest female finalist :)

Also a great " product" of the central music school of Moscow.,she has no problem leading the thing here unlike more many older and more " mature" contestants,..,playing with the band goes just like that 🙂

That is why the concerto is so much enjoyable, they are listening to each other and loving what they are doing! That is music all about, and listeners feel that. The concerto

Мне кажется, я знаю, почему ей не дали приза. Её исполнение наполнено такой страстью, что даже удивляет при её возрасте. Но почему-то считается, что Шопена надо исполнять, как бесполое существо. Молодец, Ева, я за такую музыку, которую написал живой человек, мужчина, а не эльф. И Алёша Султанов играл также страстно, и за это ему не дали первое место, а второе (первое никому не присудили). @Stella Gold можете не беспокоиться, я не посягаю на нашего любимого Алёшу Султанова, память о нём мне дорога. Я просто провела параллель, что, когда человек играет Шопена не как кисейная барышня, то говорят, что он не шопенист.
@Stella Gold вы же, наверное, понимаете, что ваши слова для меня Не истина в последней инстанции, а просто другое мнение ещё одного незнакомого мне человека. Я сама пианист и прекрасно знаю этот мир, где на белое можно сказать чёрное, и наоборот, это же не математика. Перевру Уайльда, красота в ушах слушающего. Даже у Лёши Султанова была публика, которая не воспринимала его самобытную неповторимую игру.
Скажите пожалуйста это вам автор лично сказал как надо играть его произведения??? Что за шопенисты?? Такие же люди как и все да кто то более кто то менее талантливее но все же люди и вряд ли лично были знакомы с Шопеном и вряд ли он им говорил как играть его и играть ли вообще! It seems almost immoral to choose 1 winner from this years finals talentpool. They are incredible, the playing is both flawless, intellectual and with genuine passion.
But, as in life, this competition isn't a participation trophy. There is one winner- that's what they all strive for.

The root of the English word "win" in latin is lucror. Which means to earn, obtain, profit, receive, gain, etc. Knowing this, I would have to say that anyone who has the opportunity to hear these people play their hearts out, has most certainly profited greatly.

Nie jestem znawcą muzyki poważnej a na ten film trafiłem przypadkiem lecz gdy go włączyłem, czas się zatrzymał, od pierwszych dźwięków zostałem niemal zahipnotyzowany. Po pewnym czasie, nie słyszałem już fortepianu, ja go czułem. Niesamowite przeżycie, nie potrafię tego opisać, przepiękne.

I listened to both Mr Liu and Ms Gevorgyan... This was an arranged win for Mr. Liu. Not a bad pianist but definitely pales in comparison to Ms Gevorgyan's very superior performance. These competitions have come to mean who has more friends in high places which doesnt mean much. Eva gets the first prize....
Zostala bardzo skrzywdzona przez Jury. Ma niesamowitą wrażliwość i dojrzałość muzyczną. Jest to jedno z najlepszych wykonań tego koncertu jakie slyszalam w moim zyciu. Ona gra cala soba, cialem i sercem. Jest cudowna!!!

But what strikes me most is the way she becomes lost in her own music, as if unconscious to all around her- she is swept up in the beauty and marriage of sound. The sincerity and comfort of harmony. The magic of unrivalled composition. She plays not for the crowd, nor for the orchestra, but for herself.
6.45 TO 10.48, fingers movement and her face expressions are absolutely amazing!, she is going to fly between the waves of Chopin´s music. Bravo.

I agree with a comment below so many great talented musicians however Eva weaves a story like no other pianist here. In my opinion no one touches her.

Ms Gevorgyan played the best op. 11 so far in this Finale imho. Beautiful dynamic, tone and rhythm. Passionate and tasteful which is a difficult combination but she passed with flying colors.
I am not a music sientist, but today I listened two famous modern pianists, and now Eva and I think she is by far the best. With Eva you hear the music (because she hears it), with the others you see and hear these others and they are not even in tune with the concert or self centered.

O tak, z pewnością jest wysoce prawdopodobne, że za 4 latka to Ona będzie mistrzem. Wtedy będzie dojrzalsza, jeszcze bardziej uduchowiona, no i Słowianka, która w pełni najlepiej rozumie, czuje i zna to co przekazuje nam cała twórczość naszego Fryderyka Wielkiego, a więc jedną wielką opowieść o Polsce, naszej najukochańszej ojczyźnie, o jej przyrodzie, krajobrazach, zagrodach, tradycji, tożsamości narodowej, Polskiej kulturze, tęsknotą do wolności oraz wielkim romantyzmie narodu polskiego i Polakach. Jedynie musi grać za 4 lata jeszcze piękniej i wspanialej z pełną finezją zabierając nas jeszcze raz gdzieś daleko.

In my opinion Bruce was just perfect. Nothing to add. But it was her performance that is deeply heart touching and what Chopin is all about. Emotions and human feelings in the words of music. You simply cannot help yourself waiting for next notes and not to let your imagination wander... Closest to Polish soul of all contestants. By slimest margin possible better than Kyohei in that regard.
Bruce was not perfect - there were no emotions, his play was not engaging, even to the 10% of this or Aimi Kobayashi

Was Bruce the guy who missed the note at the end? That was shocking actually. Can't say perfect with a major mistake like that.
Her interpretation brought out the melancholy longing or nostalgia of the first theme in a very strong and coherent manner. The winner did not do that. His last movement was also rather exaggerated and bizarre.
