Hey Poppa D! Thomas here. Had a blast meeting you and riding with this bunch! Great footage! Looking forward to the next challenge with you guys; prophetically speaking 😉
Hey Thomas, Glad you made it home safely. It was great to meet you as well. Always a greaet time riding with others. We all need to get together for a relaxing ride and maybe another challenge in the future.
Great video. What a great group of guys/gals. I just came across it in my feed even though it’s 2 yrs old. I read all of the description you wrote……….wow, that brought tears to my eyes! Subscribed.
Awesome that a group of folks can get together and go have a great time like this. I had a good frien I worked with, that we worked together. At least once a year we would make a road trip. We really enjoyed those times together. RIP Lynn Rain gear is my go to when I make the weather oops. Blocks wind and keeps ya warm.
Hey Poppa-D awesome video and it's good to see this from more than just my view point. It was a pleasure riding with you and the other 8 fellow riders. Catch you on the slab sometime and make more miles and memories. Slyder
Slyder, my man. Thank you for leading our ragtgag group. You did a great job of planning the route. I appreciate you being willing to take on that resposibility. We will absolutely have to catch up again. Anytime you want to ccome up to NC and ride, let me know. I know a lot of great roads in the foothills and mountains.
Leroy. It was great to meet and rode with you. Glad you made it home safe. I submitted my ride yesterday. I'm going become a premier member and wasn't sure if I could while submitting my first ride. Got an email back saying everything looked good. Should here something back by Saturday.
Poppa-D-Rides excellent job bro!! Music was good, the fellowship was great and the time everyone spent enjoying each other’s company was just priceless. I like the - Fellow Riders- name, has a good ring to it.
It was great day. Let me know when your ready to come up and ride with me in the mountains. I'm already mapping out my next Iron Butt Challange.. The Saddlesore in state. That completing the ride all within the same state. I just played around with the map a little while ago and have a route planned. 1080 GPS miles. Here's my planned route. Now to figure out when to complete.. goo.gl/maps/ZPvUejP9ejUo2tBP6
Seems like I heard your voice cracking as you went past that automobile on fire. I am with you, brother. Been there, done that. Enjoyed your vid and subscribed. We don’t have Buc-ees up north (Minnesota) but I love them when I am down south. They are amazing. When I’m planning an Iron Butt I use Google maps and then put an extra 5% just to be safe. IBA 71234!
Hey Jay, Glad you made it home safe. It was great to meet you. Let me know if you're ever in the area or want to ride in NC. I'll meet up with you. Rife safe my friend.
Hey Papa D. Let me start by saying that I use my sons RUclips page (lol) Anywho, Greetings from Douglasville, GA. 2021 Street Glide Standard rider. I like the ride. Planning on doing the Iron Butt soon. My gut is telling me that I need to do it solo. But I really like the group ride. Thanks for your service to public safety. I'm still rocking my public safety service, 18 years in and counting. Thanks for posting. God Bless
Awesome. Thanks for watching and subscribing. The last time I was in Douglasville, I rode the Silver Comet trail down to Alabama and back on my bicycle. That's been a few years ago. Keep planning and let me know when you complete your IBA. Thanks for your service as well.
Thanks for watching Ron. I appreciate the comment. I've always wanted to visit Australia. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to check that off the list. Take care sir.
Go for it Steven. I just put together a route for my in state IBA. I used google maps initially, then used the HD.com to create a map to share and send to the infotainment system on the bike. Now I just need to decide when to complete the ride. Got some folks that want to come along.
Good ride! I've led several Iron Butt rides, but never ten riders at a time. Kudos to you. How did you do the audio with the 360 camera? Great footage!
Thanks for watching and the comment. It took me about 8 months to figure out how to get audio while riding. The audio isn't from the Insta360. I have s gaming microphone connected to the GoPro attached to my helmet. Then I synch the footage during my edits. Check out some of my earlier videos and you'll see the difference in the audio quality. Welcome to the channel.
Thanks you. I had ridden the distance before, but never documented. I will say, doing it with so many other riders was fun, but added a greater amount of difficulty in maintaining a good time line.
We'll be going right by there in the way to Big Bend next month. I plan to stop at Bucees for fuel and food whenever possible. They are expanding I believe they have plans for stores in SC and NC.
Hey MJ from all over. It was great riding with you as well. I subbed to your channel earlier today. Just like I told Wood, Let me know when you want to come up and ride in NC. I close to the mountains, and would love to be a tour guide. Less miles and slower pace than the IBA. But I'm also going to do an in state IBA sometime later this year. Playing around with the map earlier and come up with a route: goo.gl/maps/ZPvUejP9ejUo2tBP6 Catch ya later...
Congrats, I have been on two of those but our group was 5 on the first one and 3 one the second. Both were 17-18 hrs. We did not make our stops very long at all. I am also in the Savannah area, transplant from Nashville. Just wondering why yall did not take the southern route and stay away from Atlanta. Be safe, have fun.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm not sure why we didn't steer clear of ATL. I just showed up and followed the group. But we went by ATL early and really didn't encounter too much traffic there. We just spent to much time at our stops. But we made it.
What???? You were only 50 miles away from a Bunburner and didn’t complete it? I completed a BBG this past July while nesting a Lake MI SS1000 in it. Your video is making me want to do another! Congrats on the SS!
Great video. Doing my first Iron Butt Challenge in less than 2 weeks with my 2 sons here in East TX. Looking forward to it but nervous at the same time.
That's cool Dwayne. Soak it all in. Enjoy that time with your sons. I was able to spend 22 days on the motorcycle with my son when he was 15. I will cherish those memories for ever. Thanks for watching and subscribing. I'm actually headed to Big Bend Texas in about 4 weeks.
@@PoppaDRides Just an update my son and I did our Iron Butt Challenge this past weekend 1048 miles in 19 hours and 4 minutes we had a blast . We did good up to the 700 mile mark then we got tired. Glad we had our head sets to talk to one another
First time watcher, long time rider. I have done 5 of these butt burners. 1000 miles minimum in 24 hours. I never done one with pictures of mileage and gas receipt. Loved doing them with the man, first father in-law, that got me into motorcycling. Been doing it 21 years and now 100 percent motorcyclist as I don't own a car. My question is, ?????? What is the reason to do this with such rules that can't be done alone or with a friend? I just don't understand. I plan to do one this summer on my own. Just asking.
The rules are to get the ride certified by the Iron Butt Association. They have several long distance ride and challenges that yo7 can get certified. Check them out here: www.ironbutt.org/ I have ridden the distance often, but never did as a certified ride. There are no rules that say you have to ride alone, or with a group. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Nelson, from home I rode about 1800 miles total over the weekend. 1450 in the last 36 hour period. I will say, my ride home Sunday was probably the most miserable I've ever been on a motorcycle. Tired, cold and wet.
Hey Dan. You no longer have to have witnesses, as long as you have time stamped dated receipts and pictures of your odometer with them at each stop. If that is not possible, the you can use the Alternative Witness to verify. But that may take longer to certify. I also used a GPS tracker that I sent a link for to the IBA, to help verify my locations and distances traveled.

We had a blast. Have used rain gear to keep warm, but knew it would be warming up once we headed south. I’d rather be a little chilly, than get hot.
