Better than story book👍🙏🌻♥️. I have hedgehog coming to the garden searching for food. Saw one medium-size this Thursday late night 👍🙏🌻♥️ . Hedgehogs are quite shy sentient beings😊.
I just picked a beautiful little lady away from the main road today and put her in a safer location nearby with some food. I didn't want to move her too far incase I moved her too far from her babies. A beautiful moment. She was very hungry and chomped away. I hope she stays safe.
I enjoyed the documentary. I was recently give one as a pet. This helps me make a more natural living environment for him . And to understand his attitude and needs. Thank you providing a thorough and informative short film.
Love these little animals, turning my garden into a haven for all wildlife but especially for hedgehogs. For the first time last summer a female gave birth to 4 hoglets in one of the hedgehog houses. People behind the wheel need to slow end hell down, I don't know how anyone could hit it run over these precious little creatures, I'm always on the lookout for animals in the road when driving. Despite what this video suggests though we should never try & treat hedgehogs ourselves, they are very complex animals health wise & no pet sprays for ticks or fleas should EVER be used, not to mention a high tick burden is often an indicator of other health issues, if you have concerns contact you nearest hedgehog rescue & wildlife rescue centre for advice.
Very well put together documentary, but it's a little out of date now. Hedgehogs are extremely endangered now in the UK, and they aren't very adaptable to human development. Hedgehogs should not be out in daylight, so if you see one, you should contact a wildlife sanctuary immediately while keeping an eye on it
24:17 In my opinion, here is the best part of video. I have 2 hedgehogs(Mom & Dad). They also had babied. Mom loved babies a lot. Thank for sharing good video.
I've saved a hedgehog who'd been run over his face was flat but he was still alive🥺 I let him go when he could eat. The last meal I gave him was apples chopped up❤️
@@justinparkerthewildwolf6394 no it was flattened but he could breathe and when he left he was happy to be on his way🥰 my boys couldn't believe he or she was healthy enough to leave💕
I love hedgehogs. I have 5 or 6 regular visitors that i feed in my garden, i also noticed a mother that had a litter of 3(actually noticed 4 the other night)hoglets in one of our hedgehog homes
Hedgehogs are so wholesomeilly adorable they look so cute in real life I had no idea that when participating in courtship with the female they don't help rise the young instead they immediately start looking for more food to fest on not sure why but I find that rather intriguing
We dont have hedgehogs in Aus, the nearest things to them are echindnas, their spines can puncture tyres! Apparently they are quite tasty according to the aboriginals, a bit like chicken. Intersting name vanillatech! Cheers.
Remember if you see underweight hedgehogs, you can rescue them, give them a box with straw, cat food and water and they are happy and you can take them to hedgehog rescues too and they save them for free!
@@ArtyMars I had an African Pygmy hedgehog when I was younger… rescued from an animal hoarder who had unalived himself. She was the cutest thing, and my dog and her became best friends and would cuddle together. We’d also take her camping with us. You have to socialize them young though, and handle them lots… or else they’ll never really open up to you, as they’re very skittish.
I once was cycling and noticed a spikey boi who was struggling to get up the curb to the bushes nearby, so I slightly painfully gave him a hand lol. Our spikey lil friends need halp sometimes.

Im hoping it was the correct thing to do? I managed to film him ( its the only upload i have made on you tube) Such a noisy eater!
there are a few things wrong with the hibernation claims in this documentary. torpor and hibernation are not the same. deserts do get cold due to lack of humidity. hedgehogs don't only go into torpor during cold, but high heat as well.
Green vegetable leaves, oat flakes, cut fruit, dry cat food, cooked rice, bread, biscuits ; are these hedgehog will eat, anyone???? 🥦🥒🥝🥬🍌🥐🍞🥪 I think they are not as fussy as cat.🙏🌻🌺🌷 I welcome them to my garden👍👍👍🙏.
