📖 Description -
One of the easiest ways to make passive income in our web-based world, is to create some sort of valuable content - whether it be an online course, a blog, a series of podcast episodes, etc - and release that content as part of a membership plan. In Webflow, there currently is not a native way to build membership functionality into our sites. So to do so, we will have to look elsewhere: Memberstack 2.0.
Memberstack 2.0 is one of the most popular ways to build a membership site inside of Webflow. Their software allows us to gate our content, build free or paid membership plans, and embed signup and login forms seamlessly into our Webflow accounts with little to no code. They are awesome! There is a decently steep learning curve we've got to climb before we can really harness their product to its full potential, but once you summit that peak, there is no better solution currently on the market. With that in mind, I decided to make a full tutorial video so that you can get over that learning curve and get your membership sites ready to rock with as little hassle as possible!
In this video I will show you how to structure your membership website in Webflow (including login page, signup page, and how to structure your gated content on your site). I will also show you how to set up your membership plans, create gated content, and, finally, embed all of this seamlessly into your Webflow site. By the end of this video you will have a fully functioning membership site complete with a full signup and login workflow along with a robust gated content infrastructure to monetize your valuable work!
I have been using Webflow to build my websites for years. If you are a novice website developer looking to launch a new project or business (and don't know how to code), your best bet is using Webflow. With Webflow, you code visually, and have complete control over your website down to the pixel. No more having to go through style sheets or JSON files in Wordpress in order to customize your site to your needs. With Webflow, you are able to visually code your website from scratch. Seriously! AWESOME work, as of Friday memberstack 1.0 did not allowed bulk uploads and I had to switched to 2.0 to be able to release a website project and there was nowhere to find good instructions. Subscribed!

Memberships in webflow is VERY limited at this time. I've been looking into it, but it's pretty much limited to gating pages based on user groups. But you can't really provide any additional permissions or privileges to members. I can't even figure out how to output member data (like "Welcome USERNAME") on any page of the site.

Hey, great tutorial. How do you deal with temporary or fake emails, is there any way of verification? If your customers have to pay for a subscription, at which point would the payment step be included? :)

Hey Great. so using this process it should be able to make two types of user logins as long as you place the content for each user into a gated content folder for the respective user. for instance, an app where professors and students both need to log in but see different versions of the site depending on their role.

Hey! You should be able to hit “copy” on the link I included down below. Then go to your webflow project, click into the body of your page, and paste (command + v) on Mac
How does gated content work when the redirect is to a CMS collection page?

Please, I encountered a problem. Anytime I'm logged in and I open the original domain name of my website in another tab, it takes me to the original home page and not the home page for logged in members. How do I fix this?
Also, if I copy the dashboard link and open the link in another tab when I am logged out of the website, it still opens my dashboard. Is this normal? How can I fix this?

Correct, the template will have the pages created for you as a starting point.

Hi, thanks for the fantastic guide. I am getting an error "Passwords cannot be submitted" whenever I hit the submit or login button. No guides online seem to give a solution that works. Only 1 form on the page, header entered and all steps followed correctly, CMS site plan enabled, memberstack setup correctly, all attributes added correctly and even a dummy member setup on memberstack. Still getting the same error...it's really deflating me. In fact some webflow support guides even say its disabled by webflow. ...Anyone able to help with this issue? :'(
I've had this before. I'd try 2 things:
1) Clear cookies
2) This is probably the issue. Make sure you're signed out. If you don't have a logout button on your page, make one, click it to make sure you're signed out, then try to log back in/create account. You can't create an account or login in if you're already logged in and it can be tough to tell if you're logged in or not when you're building.
@@alexleischow i did try both of those things. Didn't seem to change anything so I eventually just changed the password field to a plain text field to get around it and I am hoping I can use some animation to add asteriks when they type or something. Every bit of support online gives these support steps and it hasn't fixed the issue. There are also official statements from Webflow saying webflow wont support password submissions due to a security concern and that we need to use webflow memberships instead. Lone behold, when changing password field to text field it then submits and submits correctly to memberstack.
Sadly, my expertise in this platform are limited so it could just be something I did wrong somehow.

I had this error too when setting this up originally.
Clear your cache to start that’ll help. But then it’s most likely an issue with your login/logout button. Make sure you have the correct attributes for both your signup and login forms. And then ensure that your logout button is set up correctly. Double check your attributes and let me know what you find!
