That is great to hear! :)) How long did you grow it? I find that with Classic length I am able to do even more than with Tailbone Length (atm I have Tailbone Length)
I went from upper back to tailbone lenght although I cut to waist since the ends were very uneven but now I'm at hip and yes, you can do so many things with long hair unlike with short hair where you can only do a ponytail or a bun. But classic lenght is a year away for now~
I also love this song...so lovely and whimsical! People don't sing like that much anymore. It sounds like something Briar Rose should have been singing in the forest while gathering berries. Hehe
To get the inverted psyche knot right be sure to start twisting the hair up high enough, twisting downwards close to the head (not away from it and then putting the twist against the head), so it will form something similar to an inverted french twist. The twist needs to stay in place until you insert the fork (and after too). It might be a bit difficult at first. You can practice by pinning the twist into place first. Wrap the lengths around so they don't cover the twist.
Emi, I've tried both methods and they look like a regular cinnabun for me for some reason.. but it's MUCH more secure than a normal cinnabun, so I'm going to stick with it! Thankyou!
Hi Emi! I love the way your hair looks! Thank you for the beautiful tutorial / video! I have one question though, what else can I use instead of the hair fork which I don't find or cannot find...? Thank you again! Adele
Hey everyone! I filmed this in summer and saved it up until now because I wasn't sure if it was okay with the light and all. The music is not what I typically put, but I felt adding an original Edwardian Song from that time would be fun! Hope you like my modern interpretation, the inverted psyche knot :)
it is beautiful when your hair down to the edge of your gray cardigan on video in 2009. Your beautiful hair is again thick and you could leave push to the top of the legs. This is a hair goddess, your husband and your son must be happy all this sweetness ... Congratulation for your patient.
Thank you so much! My hair looks a bit thicker because it is shorter and has less taper, but I continue to shed hair while I am still breastfeeding. I want to grow longer again in the future, but it all depends on my shedding. That said - I have grown 6cm recently and am now at tailbone length again.
Yes, you can use a barette, ficcare and clips like it. Or you can buy a hair fork from 60th street on Etsy (3 or more prongs are more secure for a hair do like this), or simply search "hair fork" on etsy.com :) They are very versatile and work with most of the buns I have shown.
My routine has changed over the years. I used to wash weekly with Earthly Delight shampoo and oil 1-2 times a week, then I started washing every 4 days and atm I wash every two days bc of a chronic fungal problem. I use a normal, sulfate laden shampoo bc I need the cleansing action for my problem, but Sante conditioner and coconut oil. My ends are fairly healthy. HTH!
You can try doing the first (twist) part of the bun with the top half layer of your hair and then wrapping the bottom half around it the same way as shown. But just give it a try, it might work at waist length. It often depends on the thickness.
I think I know why it turns out looking different for some! I will try to add annotations and a comment that describes the inverted knot in detail. I think It might have not been clear in the video.
Haha yeah, it would have fit perfectly. It really is too bad music like that is not being made anymore and past songs are hard to get by. I had to search forever to find something sung by a woman.
I used to watch your videos 3 years ago and wish how much I had enough hair to do your updos. Now I do!

Wow...I'm kind of entranced, watching this lovely lady dressing her beautiful long hair...perfect background accompaniment

Where did you get the hair fork. I like it. Nice hair🐠

Love your hair and videos, Emi! Just wondering what barrette you used for this video- it is lovely. Thank you!
Thank you! It is a copper barette I got at a medieval Fair years ago. Sadly I don't know the brand, I would buy more ;)
always so creative

I enjoy watching your videos, so many beautiful hairstyles! I was wondering though, what is the name of the song and who is it sung by?
Thankyou! I'll give it another go!

Love this look! Gotta try with my giant fork on my FTL hair. :)
How are you? Did you gain your hair back? Why did you stop making videos?
Hi it’s been 7 years! Do you have Instagram? :)
Thank you :))

Emi longhairedatheart
Haha, my fork is rather big too. I have to get a smaller one for now I think.
Where do i get that hair accessory? I really like it!
+Momma Homemaker You can buy a hairfork like that from 60th Street or Etsy. You might also find other shops if you google hairfork.
May I ask what your hair care routine is? I tried finding it on your blog and you don't seem to have a video about it, so I thought I'd ask.

Oh and of course no heat, styling, dye etc. ^^

I hope to be even more creative in the future :)

I love it, but my hair is probably not long enough to makeit look nice, I am at waist!
