Thank you so much for your labors! God bless you and all Old Believers. Due to the Edinoverie, I can act as and be an Old-Believer in my local russian-orthodox church? I live in Austria, and there is no old-believer-community here, the nearest is, as far as I know is in Romania or Ukraine. I have the books from Erie, as my lestovka. Not for being apart, but just because it feels the right thing to-do. What do you think Father Deacon. (btw what is your name, so I may remember you in my unworthy prayers, please?!) Metropolitan Hilarion was many years our bishop in Vienna, he recieved me into Orthodoxy! God bless you.

Basically, yes. You can practice the old rite in private prayers. When you visit your local church, you can do the sign of the cross with two fingers and all - it is all blessed. Just remember, we are all in full communion so don't scandalise the new rite faithful and clergy by demonstratively doing old rite stuff. My name is Deacon Phillip. Pray for me!

@@Priestphillip Thank you so much Father Deacon! No way I want to offend anyone, we are just 4-7 people who pray in church with our lestovki, we stand in a corner, males left, females right looking from the altar, and do it, mostly unnoted due to the place we found suitable. Many greetings to Father Pimen, I may have been at some times a thorn in his side, with my many demands. And just a thought, perhaps it is possible *to do a episode, or even a series with Father German Ciuba,* on him being an old-believer Monk, what he does, what is his story, etc?
This would be so interesting, I think. God bless you and this amazing channel.

@@nicolaj622 I will pass your greeting to Fr. Pimen, I am sure that will make him happy! Fr. German is not an old rite clergy. He has been very connected to the Erie parish, especially with the translations of the various old rite books. However, as far as I understand, he is not "old rite" per se.

There are old rite churches in Canada. There is now a mission in Vancouver and there is at least one rural parish in northern Alberta which was featured in a CBC documentary before the CBC went completely woke and anti-Christian. Stephan in Ottawa

Yes I have heard about these. However, they are not canonical, they are not in communion with the fullbess of the Orthodox Church.

Father, why have the Old Believers a plus word in Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed - "Istinnago" (True), if it wasnt there from 325, 381? (Καὶ εἰς τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον, τὸ Κύριον, τὸ ζῳοποιόν - And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life). Doing retrospective a plus word to Creed (True Lord), legally leads to schism/raskol as we know also from Filioque. I know that in 1666 it was hard to google something, but today why is it a problem for Old Believers to check it? Thank you for your answer.

Thank you so much for this video. I missed your videos.
    Question:
Why did you make the sign of the cross with your left hand in this video?
And where can I find you on Instagram ?
I searched for The Orthodox Wanderer but nothing came up.

      Thank you!
The video is mirrored, I have to learn to change that😊
I changed my IG name to be the same as my RUclips name.

Father it is my understanding that priestess old believers don't practice Holy Communion and only do certain parts of a service, the parts that can be done without clergy, don't have Confession etc because they believe or acknowledge that they have lost apostolic succession and as such, they are unable to..yet they still find these things very Holy and important and so don't even pretend to do such things that require clergy..
    1. What do they call the leader that leads their services? I know they don't view him as a priest..didn't the parish in Erie separate between priestly and priestess old believers, the parish beginning as old believers?
2.do they believe apostolic succession will some day be restored, I don't see how, or is it gone for good? Which if it's gone for good, I feel that sort of makes Christ into a liar.
    3. Did they break apostolic succession over such things as the finger position etc because they feel all things in the Church are equally important to the faith? If that's the case, I guess apostolic succession wasn't that important after all..I don't know, just looking for some insight..thank you for everything you do..
In Christ, a faithful Russian Orthodox Christian..God bless your efforts and sorry my post was so long
