I watched the whole of this film this morning...had me in stitches...awwww the lovely Sir Norman Wisdom sure was ...is...a movie Legend.Greatly missed.
My favourite sequence from all Norman`s films, a truly great chase sequence. There is nothing like laughing at the police to cheer a Brit up ! The scene is beautifully shot and I love the way the cops interrupt the guy in the kazi reading his newspaper. Of all the cheek !

Grand National ref in the sequence over the garden walls. The French see this film as an attack on pompous statism, the Germans see it as an anti-fascist polemic, the Albanians see it as the power of the little man over the tyrant and the British see it as just a bit of a laugh. The chase sequence is so over-looked in film documentaries and the camera work when Pitkin is in the crowd of policemen trying to escape is superbly done. If Truffaut made it it would have got the Palm D'Or
This just goes to show the level of Camaraderie that exists in Police Forces worldwide; one solitary whistle brought nearly an entire Police Force running because they believed and feared one of their own was in danger!

Most of that was Windsor ;-) Many of the locations are still recognisable today.
There maybe more police in this little area than there is in the whole of London nowadays.
Just realised that Norman is the only one to go the right way round the roundabout!

Lots of logical inconsistencies in this sequence, but great fun if you don't think about it too much!
