  • Consent for two new Scottish oil and gas fields was granted unlawfully - an Edinburgh court has ruled - after a case brought by environmental campaigners. (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News...)
    The written judgement means that the owners of the Rosebank and Jackdaw fields will have to get approval from the UK government again, before they can begin extracting any oil or gas.
    The presiding judge, Lord Ericht said that the effects of climate change outweighed the developers interests.

    So instead of getting the economic benefit of producing the oil instead you can import the oil.

    • @skycloud4802
      @skycloud4802 7 дней назад +5

      And probably not done as cleanly as the the UK. Afterall that oil would have to be imported/shipped in which creates ever more carbon emissions. And the UK ultalises state of the art energy efficiency measures and technologies to reduce emissions, and improve the cleanliness of their oil production. Examples being carbon capture, usage, and storage (CCUS), industrial heat recovery projects, fuel switching etc.

      No. Firstly, demand is not fixed. Secondly, the 'you' that would see economic benefits would be the Norwegian wealth fund. However, the 'you' you imply in relation to imports is the UK - which would be unchanged. Have you seen the Sankey diagrams in DUKES?

    so the O&G industry that employs 300K people in the UK, and is essential for energy security and the defence, plus brings in million into the economic industry is now considered ilegal.
    but the same government can approve a runway, which is completely dependent on the O&G industry...and will have more impact than production.

    i used to think being magnetic was just about looks or confidence, but i couldn’t have been more wrong. i read this book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and it totally changed my perspective. it breaks down the energy and mindset behind true attraction in a way that just makes sense. once i started applying what it taught, i noticed people reacting to me differently almost instantly. it’s seriously worth a read.

      Magnetising energy there seems to be levels to that but I dont see why its not feasible to tunnel down into the earth to the boiling point of water having a pumping system for the water an input pipe. Water goes down the input pipe. Steam comes out the Output pipe. a steam turbine on the out take pipe but the steam and heat of the water pressure will cause the water volume to increase by 1600 times larger in volume to become steam so there may be pressure issues related to water flow upwards and potentially rock integrity, pressures in the Pipes. but im sure it could be worked out
