I watched that season and I loved Carson. As someone who has their own business AND had my work stolen from me, I am siding with the puzzle companies. Firstly, Carson presented himself as creating his own puzzles to practice with, not that he purchased them from other companies. He DID NOT give that company credit. He then went on to use their marketing strategy that was suppose to be used for that company in partnership, not his own company. I believe Carson had no intentions of starting a puzzle company. I believe the idea came to him after his fame and success on Survivor. Carson was liked by the audience. Why not take advantage of his 15 minutes of fame. I don't fault Carson for starting his own puzzle company. It is everything else that has me giving him the side eye. Sorry for the long comment lol. I had a lot to say.
Don't be, I wrote up a paper in college and I made up my own business model it was for economics class and it was something new I really wish that I had gone forward with that because I found out later on that a company had done just exactly what I had written down in my class project it might be a coincidence I do you know how you feel something with snatched away from you without you getting credit for it
It’s hard to tell. You’d think Carson would have some proof of always wanting to start a puzzle business, or something to hold up his side of the story. But it seems to me that the OP business is in the right here. Carson took their works and recreated them for his own benefit, which becomes problematic when he is lying and making stuff up. Especially when he is more popular so now his business will take away from the OP puzzle people
Also with the marketing and promotion talks… He should have been upfront about his “lifelong dream” and sought guidance, not play dirty and be deceptive.
Imo competition in business is good...HOWEVER ethics are a huge deal. He didnt disclose on the show that he bought those puzzles and presented it as though he made them. Then the company said "dude not cool" he didn't even really deny that he indeed use their company. Which makes him look pretty guilty of copying & using them but okay...just because you get "a lower amount in a deal" doesnt mean go start your own company without talking to your initial partnership company first. Idk maybe be did...but negotiations on split could've been done before jumping ship
Honestly I was on Carson side until Carol basically outted him when she said Outplay puzzle offered a "small ars cut" to promote their business. If the issue is whether or not what Carson did was unethical well yes I say it was. Also I lost it when Jordy called him a Twink.
It’s interesting because we learned about something similar in my Theory, History, and Nature of Science course. Our observations are based on the quality and specificity of our instruments and that this information is processed through human minds (our perception)… so the “reality” we observe, though the goal is to get as close to “Reality” as possible- but we need to be cognizant of these limitations when making conclusions on “Reality” as we only have our “reality”.
Why can't thst woman get it through her head what it is that Outplay Puzzles is actually angry about. It's not that he started his own company or providing them with competition. They're angry because they discussed the marketing tactics that OP wanted Carson to use on his website to promote OP products. Not only did he not promote their products, but he used their marketing tactics to promote his own products. And while his puzzles may not look exactly like the designs from OP, they look very, very close. Close enough that it's easy to believe that he took their original designs, tweaked them slightly, then sold them as his own original, never seen anywhere before, designs. It just all seems very scummy on his part. Start your own company, sure. Competition is part of being in business. But blatantly stealing, or "borrowing" from your already established competitors, and passing off your work as wholly original, is low.
It's fine to start a similar business but this dude straight up ripped off the designs! If they were different puzzle designs he could have got away with it.

(is it an adult version of legends of hidden temple?) maybe expain how survior works. then say that etsy makes ______ . person replicated those _______ and used his fame to _________. which made etsy lose sales. include some sort of quantitive evidence. then introduce the twitter fued.
