Behind The Scenes: Fantasmic Disneyland & See Your Favorite Disney Characters Backstage

- Fantasmic is one of Disneyland's best attractions, and if you don't have a dinning package or a good section with a Fastpass, AND if you don't get there early, You may not have a good viewing area, if you can get one at all. Witnesses a glimpse of some behind the scenes magic.(Fantasmic Viewing TIP: If you can, see the 2nd show, it's generally slower for the 2nd showing.) Well, if you want to see your favorite Disney characters with just a handful of people around, then check this out!
I'll show you where to go to see the Fantasmic floats launch, see your favorite characters, and see the Mark Twain, and the Columbia pass by with a boatload of characters! This area near "The Hungry Bear" is always a great area for those of you who have seen the show. This area gives you a different experience while the show is in progress. come and see what it's like for Fantasmic behind the scenes.

Technically this isn’t backstage, which means the cast members still need to act in character, the experience needs to be immersive, and Fantasmic is still going on. When the Mark Twain drives by, you could see that Mickey is missing from the ship. Just another instance of amazing attention to detail from Disney.
Sometimes, I get impressed by the simplest little tricks. Like the things on the corners of the barges. They have a jungle theme on one side, and a princess theme on the other. But they don't need to be spun around to switch between them, they just turn the whole barge around and have it go past in the opposite direction.

The Disney Bears how many times do they perform that show in a week ?
Depending on the time of year. In the summer it’s 2 times per day, 7 days a week
Disneyland has truly thought of everything!

Most other theme parks would just let the characters hide but Disney makes sure they are still in character and give you a wave!

I went to Disneyland yesterday and I watched the 10:30 show in the front and almost center! During the 9:00, I was in the backstage area where u directed us to go and it was amazing to see where the magic awaits!

This answers so many questions for me. My other question is: How do the actors and tech people get over to the island and back again? Is there an underground tunnel? Thanks for posting.
There's a river barge they take back and forth (might be same one that takes people over to the island in the daytime). They get off right under where the Hungry Bear is (near the bathrooms).

may sound strange, and will admit its been well over 30 years since I was last to Disneyland, it was ALOT cheaper back then for admission...I just learned, and I know that this must sound crazy but learned that the paddlewheeler boat actually rides on Underwater tracks, just like the boats from the Jungle cruise do, I really thought for a second that the paddle wheeler was actually steered freely but nope......
😯 so does the Mark Twain, but I don’t know about the raft
But yes, the Mark Twain, and the Columbia ship drives along a track about 3-5 feet underwater. 🐻❤️🐻❤️
@@TheDisneyBears Thank youn so very much for replying, really do appreciate it, but if you dont mind me asking, would you happen to know why they made the paddlewheeler have to run on those underwater traks instead of it just riding freely on the water like a ordinary boat, is it becasue the lake or river is too narrow and it would probably be pretty much Impossible to actually be able to steer the paddlewheeler????

Cool video I love it. Favorite characters are Mary Poppins, Woody, and Donald Duck. I wish I would known so I can see it close instead of the show. I like the way you describe behind the scenes it makes it awesome and good ideas to keep in mind.

It’s over near Hungry Bear 🐻 Restaurant, in Critter County. Hungry Bear is right before you get to Winnie the Pooh and Splash Mountain entrances . ❤️🐻❤️🐻❤️🐻

There's a spot near the exit from Big Thunder Mountain that might have a good view of the boat loading on the other side of the island. Can you try to get some footage from there?

Having only seen Fantasmic at WDW, this is weird to me.

@@TheDisneyBears well, I've only seen the old Fantasmic a DisneyLand, I haven't seen this 2.0 show live. But I like the setting a lot better at Hollywood Studios, the amphitheatre gives it a different feeling. And while I will say that some of the Hollywood Studios scenes look a little dated compared to Fantasmic 2.0, the ending of sorcerer Mickey being on top of the mountain and then being at the bottom hits a lot harder than Mickey being on the roof and then at ground level.

@@TheDisneyBears I live very close to WDW, bought an AP a few years back and haven't really stopped renewing it.
One of the perks of our Fantasmic over here is that it runs 365 days a year unlike the one over in Cali which I've just learned recently.
Might want to make that trip soon, because once Galaxy's Edge opens up, it's going to be almost impossible to get into Hollywood Studios.
Yeah, I live kinda close to Disneyland (Phoenix lol... only a 5 1/2 hour drive) I have been a AP holder for about 4 years now.
Yeah, I wish Disneyland did Fantasmic that often. We basically only get it on Weekends during non peak season, if we get it at all. Right now it’s down, been down for over a month. I’m planning on being at Disneyland for Galaxies Edge opening on June 21st. They may open a few days early though. I’m sure if they do it will be like our Pixar Pier Premier was. That was a day early, at $300 a head. I’m sure Galaxies Edge will be about $800 to $1000 a person... people are crazy enough to pay for it... 🤪🙄 Hell, I probably will too! 😖 😂😂❤️🐻❤️🐻

Ask who? That would be the Disney imagineers who make and improve shows and attractions. They would have to replace and rewrite the show... that won’t happen. They finally just did update this show after 25 years.
