  • Seattle, 1999. Violinist Juan Reynoso and his guitarist Cástulo Benitez, joined by "discípulo" Paul Anastasio, hidden in the background, play Gregorio Gomez Grenados' pasodoble Viva Cutzamala. It was a great honor to have been able to study with Juan and his fellow musicians from Mexico's Tierra Caliente del Balsas for over ten years. My website, www.SwingCatEnterprises.com, features an ever-expanding selection of Finale transcriptions and arrangements, CDs and DVDs of this music. -Paul Anastasio

I'm from Cutzamala and remember when I used to hear this musical piece on the local Radio :) Good Old days, everything has changed now, including the way musicians play music nowadays.
