You certainly have a talent for weathering 👍
Considering I borrow most of my methods off you 😝
Spot on paint job!....as well as a ability to derail at a drop of a hat don't forget the fitting of triple valve air brakes😯...had a interesting approach to weaver junction with Ford vans as a newbie! Didn't know that you couldn't apply and release several times with out depleting air brake reservoir....thank heavens for a few VGA uk built vans in train to provide a degree of retardation! Every day is a school day
Brill how to demo!
Morning Nigel. These wagons always remind me of Bill Watkins and a few minutes into the video footage of his handiwork!
Great video
Very good tutorial l, what a remarkable result 🤩👍
Evening Mr train man. Another cracking video with as always great story telling as you go 👍🏻 Yeah and that continental van looks awesome 👏🏻
Wonderful stuff!
Now you're fully into the resin and an expert in the field maybe you could nip over to southern pride kits and indulge in a resin body for LION, fits a hornby 47 chassis. It has some things going for it... no yellow ends😅🤣
Edit; Did I say southern pride... I meant golden arrow... apologies.
A few years ago I converted a Lima deltic into DP2. Lion could be a potential project 🤔
@@Wallsrail being white it seems like it'd be a weathering challenge as well. Very easy to make it too dirty
@@HamStrains Ooh now there's one of my pet hates 😝
Model engines with unrealistic weathering 😖
@@Wallsrail sure it would also involve some nice chopping and changing of bogie side frames to make something a little better looking than the raw donor 47 bogies
Has all the hallmarks of something you'd get joy out of, an adventure into making something that looks the part from something that's a bit meh. Not that you need suggestions there's probably a list as long as time of things to do
Happy New Year 2023
Fantastic job that, thanks for sharing
Excellent work!!
Excellent build and video - enjoyed it.
Looks great fella!!
As always, great wagon work. But big wow for the allotment on the test track !!!
Really good job, wagon looks really realistic, besides Volkswagen and Ford that had these wagons, Audi also had them.
Last week to last month i've caught two Cargowaggon Habiins four axle that are produced by Waggon Union in 1984, besides silver / black livery i caught white one that was been made for BMW Steyr to transport BMW parts between Steyr and Dingolfing.
Excellent build and how you did it, wagon looks superb, nice one 👍
That looks just the job!
You are definitely a weathering wizard!
Look forward to seeing your next next project, whenever that might be!
Wizard 🤔
making up as you go hoping it doesn't go pear shaped 😂😂😂👍👍
Nice to see you back with another wagon kit, never seen on of these before in person, the work you put into these kits amazes me.
Having a few troubles with a class 31, it's a Hornby original chassis with an airfix body, only problem is that the model was detail painted blue, the had the steam heat equipment filled and then was dumped in a box, so the paint is damaged and unfinished, I'm rubbish with a brush and thanks too 2 more 31s I'm now in £40 debet with my grandad.
Like you I have many projects on the go, mainly using mainline mk1s, some spares, a 37 nose for the high intensity light and a class 43 chassis
A sort of nodd to thumpers🙂
Are all old men bad with buying kits, after finishing three open wagons, my grandad bought another two😂
Have a good one and enjoy your hobby ☺️
Hornby/Triang 31? Hmm now there's a potential future project 🤔
I spend an awful lot of time scouring ebay for rare and out of production kits!
@@Wallsrail oh not that old its one of the original Hornby super details ones
Ahh the IVA vans. Being a 2mm modeller (West Coast, early to mid 90s) These have been on my to do list for a while to model the Dagenham - Garston Ford Train. Sadly they're not available RTR in 2mm, nor is a kit available. I may have to go down the 3D printed route, but as you say, there is a big difference between the IZA twin sets and the IVA. Length for a start. Another enjoyable watch.
Ahh the Dagenham Halewood 6L42 6M41
class 90 and a string of wagon 1/4 mile long 100SLU.
Used to be on that service quite a lot when I first started driving based at Crewe!!
@@Wallsrail Halewood of course, not Garston! Ahh fantastic mate.
good stuff love it !
Hi there, good video I liked the history on this wagon, why did you clean off the buffers?? Is that a thing BR do?? The end result looked really good, I do not like building wagons, I prefer to buy them built. I've tried but they never turn out quite right 😢.
Also may I ask, what is the paint code of the MIG blue paint you have used? I have a couple of Tiphook bogie curtain siders to do and the blue looks pretty spot on for the ends. Again, doesn't have to be the exact shade, as most will be weathered anyway. Cheers. **EDIT** 123 Marine Blue ??
Great job! Which pressure are you using for the airbrush?
Don't know? Not something I keep track of! One that pushes the paint out 😂

hummm... Just one, you would need 7-12 for a rake and maybe some of the double sets to give the full train look. i dont see the Ford logo either???? Having said that as a show piece it would be just fine as it is. stuck in the middle of any freight set it would be a great purchace.
If I was building a set for myself 6 or 7 it would 'va been, but for a one off project, just the one is ok.
Logo's were either or not both.
With it being a standard cargowaggon not allocated to specific company traffic, gives it the opportunity, as you rightly say, to run as a single wagon in a speed link type train 👍
DUWAG isnt`t pronounced DOG.
It`s the short form foe DÜsseldorfer WAGonfabrik.
I was never going to get the pronunciation right! So reverted to saying it like its written.
We all struggle with it, even in our mother tongue!!
@@WallsrailI agree.
My mother tongue is German and there are strange German words which I can’t pronounce.
Düwag is a candidate for that because everyone write and pronounce it differently.
Great video anyway.
Try "Doo-ag" They also made lots of trams...
